I wish people would leave this stupid statue alone. All you are doing is taking public monies away from needed services to remove these stupid decorations. As I post this, Sunday at 7:52 pm, portions of Leucadia are underwater and there is no sign of public works. But I'm sure they will run down to the stupid krap, err kook to remove this nonsense.
Pension costs are running millions of dollars a year, and we have tens of millions of debt to service for the Taj Mahal Library, McMansion fire stations, and the Hall Park Wasteland.
If a couple of city workers spend an hour undressing the kook every week or two, the costs are imperceptible among the overall Encinitas waste, fraud and abuse.
I asked WC if it would be OK if I posted on his blog, since I am censored from the Leucadia blog. Then I felt stupid for asking. So I unposted it, if that is even a word. That was it.
WC Varones, you are my hero. I need to borrow the following names:
"Taj Mahal Library, McMansion fire stations, and the Hall Park Wasteland."
Why does Encinitas need such a library, 5 fire stations, the waste land?
You forgot about the Encinitas Lifeguards. They have every off road vehicle known to man, plus jet skis and cool new flags. They are still black balling Moonlight even though there isn't a soul swimming there now. All for 2 miles of beach.
Remember Encinitas prior to incorporation? Has the quality of life improved?
The city council sells the community to the highest bidder, while padding their own nests with outrageous pensions and benefits. The infrastructure is not well thought out and the monetary obligations will break the budget. Muir makes $170,000 a year as a pension - did he save Encinitas from a galactic calamity to merit such generous compensation? Only 5 retirees from the city pull over half-million a year in pensions - what happens as ths number grows? Pension reform needs to occur very soon or this city is sunk.

Anon,
ReplyDeleteI don't think undressing the kook is the problem.
