San Diego County sheriff's deputies broke up a party Saturday night in Encinitas involving nearly 200 teenagers and "a large amount of alcohol."

Responding to a noise complaint from neighbors, deputies found partygoers throughout the house, some hiding in closets and bathrooms. Alcohol was found on the patio, in the kitchen and in the living room.
UPDATE: Now the affair is being honored in the London press, and the address is being given as the 3100 block of Brookside Lane. That would be in Olivenhain, off of Lone Jack, among some nice big horse properties.
Epic! Those kids will remember that party for the rest of their lives.
ReplyDeleteHopefully there won't be any retarded "adults" who count this against them for things like college admissions, etc. This is normal, well adjusted behavior, and should be treated as such. So they broke a couple silly rules, big fuckin' deal.
Rob-This is not normal well adjusted behavior, even it happened to be amongst legal adult drinking age. These kids trashed their parents house, got so out of hand that the cops even found out about it, and God knows what else may have happened. Someone could have driven home drunk and not only killed him or herself, but could have killed others. Last time I checked the legal age for drinking is 21. There is a reason for that. So, in fact, they didn't brake a couple of silly rules, unless you think underage drinking in mass quantities is OK, and drunk driving is OK. I work a lot with teens in my psychological practice, and they tell me there is a lot of peer pressure to use both drugs and alcohol. I have no idea how old you are, but I sure hope you are to a parent.
ReplyDeleteLorri, drinking age in much of the world is 18. Unless you think the way our society is set up is the be-all and end-all of civilized existence, you might want to stop pretending like you and your suburbanite soccer mom clientele know what's best.

It's a bunch of brain dead teenagers - add alcohol and they go flat-line. This does have the potential for disaster. Caling it "routine" shows a lack of common sense to what is sensible .
ReplyDeletei was there. youre all stupid. there was not 200 people. the cops were nice and respectful. it was fun and not too crazy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up (I'm 48 now) there were parties like this every weekend. Bands and 10-20 kegs were common. Cops busting up parties was quite common.
