Dr. Brophy is, literally, a rocket scientist.
Thomas Brophy has a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, was a research scientist at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, Boulder, with NASA interplanetary spacecraft projects, and was a National Science Foundation exchange scientist with the University of Tokyo and Japan Space Program. He is currently listed as faculty at the California Institute for Human Studies, an unaccredited new-agey hippie school, and has some new-agey views of his own.
Interests in fundamental theory led to broader studies involving the non-calculable and immeasurable aspects of the universe, and teaching Integral philosophy, and his book The Mechanism Demands a Mysticism. [...] Recombining Integral philosophy with astrophysical dynamics led to his studies of the astro-archaeology of pre-historic and proto-historic Egypt, and his book The Origin Map.Brophy has apparently not been involved in Encinitas issues or politics as of yet. Based on his philosophical leanings, we presume he'd align with Barth/Kranz/Shaffer rather than Stocks/Muir/Gaspar/Forrester.
So Barth/Kranz/Shaffer are the kooky hippies?
ReplyDeleteyer a jerk
DeleteBased on his philosophical leanings, we presume he'd align with Barth/Kranz/Shaffer
ReplyDeleteNot cool, W.C.
... not that there's anything wrong with that.
DeleteAm I wrong?
Prpobably not. Just another nutt job.
DeleteTypical Encinitas wackazoid.
Of course you're wrong! What evidence do you have to suggest that Barth, Kranz, & Shaffer are involved in any kind of far-out mystical spirituality woo?
Delete@Rob just ask yourself this question: who do you think Brophy (and the other kooky hippies) will siphon votes from? Hint: it won't be Stocks / Muir.
DeleteRob,
DeleteFirst of all, you say "far-out mystical spirituality woo" like it's a bad thing. On the contrary. Once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
Secondly, I never suggested that Barth, Kranz, and Shaffer were involved in that. I simply suggested that new agers are more likely to align with progressives than with developer-backed Republicans. Do you disagree?
@anon: I don't think you can say with any degree of certainty who this lunatic will siphon votes from (if anyone). (see also 3rd paragraph)
ReplyDelete@ W.C.: Saying this "new age" clown (Thomas Brophy has been a guest on the nutjob AM radio show Coast to Coast) would align with Barth/Kranz/Shaffer is a smear. It implies that they are not serious candidates. Barth, Kranz, & Shaffer deserve better than to be associated with Brophy.
Surely you don't assume Barth/Kranz/Shaffer would align themselves with Brophy, do you?
Regarding who Brophy would align himself with, consider the evangelical christian Republican base & their bizarre obsession with ancient Israel (& Egypt...).
Get a job.
DeleteYou're right, @anon, I spent far too much time on that (maybe a few minutes). Just trying to make myself clear. Feel free to ridicule me for that, dumbass.
DeleteMaybe you'd be more impressed by the typical comments here & at Leucadia Blog: DUMP $TOCK$ WAKE UP PEOPLE VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS THE SKY IS FALLING aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggghhh ENCINITAS VOTERS ARE TOO STUPID TO SEE THEY ARE BEING ROBBED PENSION PENSION PENSION UNDERFUNDED ROADS SIDEWALKS GENERAL PLAN STREETSCAPE MAGGIE POSTERS GOATWEED JEROME

DeleteAtta boy Rob, you keep up your antisocial commentary.
Jesus loves you.
Stating facts is anti-social and your imaginary friend loves me. Yikes. .
DeleteRob- Jesus loves you, me...not so much. But you hang in there, we need good sharp minds in Encinitas to allow us to see, hear and understand all sides of issues. Thank you for contributing to this blog. ( no I'm not WC.)
