A lot of us would gently roll our eyes when confronted with the Art History PhD who insists on being called "doctor." But few are aware that the use of "doctor" as a title in a variety of healthcare roles is controversial, because it can be confusing to patients. The problem is serious enough that the American Physical Therapy Association has issued guidelines that any Physical Therapist using the title "Doctor" in a clinical setting must clarify that they are in fact not a physician.Well, if Kristin Gaspar can call herself an "educator" on the ballot based on volunteering in her kids' schools, we guess Paul can play "doctor."
In the context of the controversy, it is noteworthy that Encinitas mayoral candidate "Doctor" Paul Gaspar chooses to use the title, but certainly not disqualifying. The fact that he uses the title 17 times on the brief homepage of his campaign website begins to raise one eyebrow.
But, it's still not disqualifying.
Where it really goes wrong is the large-font campaign slogan that Paul Gaspar puts at the top of every single page of his campaign website:
"Prescribing Common Sense for Encinitas"
Prescribing. That's worth both eyebrows and a "wow."
pre·scribe
prəˈskrīb/
verb
(of a medical practitioner) advise and authorize the use of (a medicine or treatment) for someone, especially in writing. "Dr. Greene prescribed magnesium sulfate" synonyms: write a prescription for, authorize "the doctor prescribed antibiotics"
Do you get it? He's a "doctor" and he's going to "prescribe" common sense for Encinitas.
There's one tiny problem. Paul Gaspar has never been to medical school.
He doesn't have an M.D. He's not a physician.
Paul Gaspar can't "prescribe" anything, because he's not that kind of doctor, but he certainly wants you to think so.
Without an advanced degree in Psychology, I can't tell you if the use of these terms is evidence of a specific mental disorder. But as a lay person, I can state the obvious: that Paul Gaspar thinks he's smart enough to dance on the head of a pin and play clever word games in an attempt to mislead and confuse the good people of Encinitas.
That's a skill set we've seen often enough in politics, and it is disqualifying.

Is there a doctor in the house?

Just more bullshit from the Gaspars or, as they're known by commenters on this blog, "the Gaspar's."
ReplyDeleteHa! What a tool..... Lot's of Ph.D's in my family, and they are very protective, possessive and proud of their designation, and they would be the first to tell you that the proper convention would be:
ReplyDeleteDr. Joe Smith, Ph.D.
They would never, ever want their designation to be confused with that of a physician. That would be disrespectful to their accomplishments, and to the accomplishments of the physician!
- The Sculpin, not a Ph.D.
What an ego.
ReplyDeleteAnd all the pictures with personalized white lab coat and stethoscope?
This guy is playing doctor, and wants the rest of us to play along in his fantasy too.
He uses "Doctor" 17 times on the homepage, and "Paul" appears only three times. Makes you wonder if he makes his wife call him "Dr. Gaspar."
Scary ego.
Last January Bob Bonde himself asked the Council to address him as Doctor when he and Sheila Kranz and Shaffer were poised to close down the fire stations in downtown ad Village Park.
ReplyDeleteGaspar is probably a lot closer to being a 'Doctor' than Big Bad Bob. HE has a scary ego!
There is no "closer," when it comes to the power to prescribe controlled substances.
DeleteEither you went to med school, or you didn't.
Paul Gaspar didn't, and he shouldn't be implying that he did.
6:29
DeleteContempt prior to investigation not only makes you lazy, and uninformed but also sounding like an idiot.
Dr. Bonde has a PHD. After serving in the Marines, defending his family and yours, he became an Executive in the California University system.
I became alarmed when I saw Paul Gaspar's sign stating he was a Doctor. He certainly seems to have built a good business, but is he a doctor?
I researched the matter and the Gaspar site states he has a DPT ( Doctor of physical therpay). I then looked up what a DPT is, apparently it is an additional 3 or so years of schooling in PT. Good for the DPT's.
There is however controversy on what this DPT means. Some claim it is a ruse of smoke and mirrors to mislead patients. For instance are all the therapist at Gaspar physical therpay all DPT's? Their ads claim Gaspar Doctor's of PT - are they all DPT's?
Others say the DPT is used by some to charge more.
I then researched the American Medical Assn- they don'the use the Doctor title. What does that tell us?
I think it tells us Paul Gaspar is not a medical doctor. That he represents himself as one tells us more.
You can't fix a rigged system by electing the people who rigged it.
Bonde was a college level shop teacher who got shipped out; and not by his decision! He's been pretty lucky no one has determined the question nable actions that led to his expulsion.
DeleteI would like to "prescribe" a "Get Out of Town" pass to the good "doctor".
ReplyDeleteWe don't need any more fakes running our city.
Gaspar's wife believes she is an educator.
Liars, Liars!
Interesting post and responses. I have to admit I thought it odd that he Paul used Dr. Paul Gaspar DPT. For example a Ph.D., might use Dr. but they shouldn't then put Ph.D. after it. It is both redundant and is not the way those who have Ph.D.'s have been taught to do it. I am not a PT, so maybe their training is different than in other fields. But it is apparent that Paul Gaspar wants you to know he is a Doctor, which must make him smarter than the average person. We all know that's not true of anyone with a M.D., DDS, Ph.D. DPT, etc. All a Doctor title tells us is the person went to school longer than most and was motivated to do so. I have met some pretty stupid Doctors in my life, of all kinds. I have also met some brilliant people who have HSG after their names (High School Graduate, in case any of you want to add that to your resume:) All I do know is I am not voting for this man, and it has nothing to do with his title. I see him as ingenious, egotistical, arrogant, not very well informed about our community and its surrounding areas. Just as Phil Graham talks about Encinitas having "bays" Paul talks about other nonsensical ideas. Ironically I just got a prescription from an M.D. for Physical Therapy. I can assure you I will not go to one of Gaspar's PT places. I wonder what his employees think of him?
ReplyDeleteI agree with pretty much everything you say. Also, Dr. should be used only in a professional context. The nurse or hygienist can say, the doctor will see you now. A student may refer to a professor as Dr. No one calls a lawyer, pharmacist, or PT a doctor even though they may have JD, DPharm, and DPT degrees. FYI - Gaspar PT is well regarded in the San Diego PT community. They have very well qualified PTs. PT, yes, vote for him, no.
DeleteIn society the title Doctor has signified ethics. Do not harm is a medical ethic, where the Doctor, a supposed trusted member of the community, acts in the best interest of the patient.
DeleteUnfortunately, as society and ethics have devolved many quacks now find ways to abuse the doctor patient relationship. Some suggest calling the doctor by their first name - well if that provider does not respect their title why should we?
The AMA American Medical Association does not give validity to the DPT as Doctor.
What does Dr. Lorri Green have to say? What is in her background that she wants to share?
ReplyDelete7:46 I could care less what the shrink thinks. Half the time she makes no sense at all.
DeleteFirst she does; then she doesn't; then she will; then she won't.
A mixed up bag of a mess is what she is.
She is a counselor for folks who have lost their pets to mortality.
Delete7:46- Actually Lorri Greene is a Ph.D. and is a Psychologist. Pet loss is a part of her practice, as she is world famous for her work. I am a former patient of hers and personally I think she is the best psychologist I have been to, and unfortunately, I have been to a lot. She makes perfect sense to me, and I get rather tired of certain people who may not even know her, say all kinds of inaccurate things about her. When I went to her, I called her Dr. once, and she said "if you would like to, please call me Lorri". She is not pretentious, as those of you who dislike her keep saying. Yes, she is active in our community, and some don't like her, but for me, if she would have run I would have voted for her. Paul Gaspar has talked about suing her because she has spoken out against him about his involvement, or lack thereof, in the NoRailTrial saga. She also moderates Encinitas Votes, which is a FB page that W.c has on his links.
Delete10:14 Yawn!
Delete10:54- What are you yawning about. You personally may not like her, but if you Google what 10:14 said, you will see it's all true. Of course, the lawsuit isn't in the mix, as Paul has only threatened, but not actually served her papers. Kind of wish he would so she could tell all.
Delete11:06 Double yawn!
DeletePaul Gaspar's information says that he received his Doctor of Therapy degree from USC in 1992. However, the information on the USC website indicates that they began awarding Doctor of Therapy degrees in 1998.
ReplyDeleteSomething is out of whack, so to speak.
Here is the information from the USC website:
About DPT
Why the DPT?
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at the University of Southern California prepares graduates to be autonomous practitioners, capable of evaluating and treating patients without the need for referral from another practitioner, but ready to work in collaboration with other health professionals. The Doctor of Physical Therapy is the authoritative practitioner in the diagnosis and treatment of movement dysfunction.
For more information about the DPT degree, visit the APTA website.
The History Behind the USC DPT
In 1998, the University of Southern California awarded the DPT degree to graduates of the program in physical therapy. USC has been a leader in the transition to doctoral level education in physical therapy. The need for a primary care practitioner who can diagnose and treat the causes of movement dysfunction and the increased scientific and evidence base for physical therapy are forces for the dramatic shift to a doctoral degree as the primary preparation for a professional degree in physical therapy.
Lets just say he sticks his fingers in plenty of holes he shouldn't.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some of his female staff will step forward.
DeleteSo why bring up Dave Roberts? Is he what you call a predator?
ReplyDeleteGaspar doesn't even have the authority to write this prescription.
ReplyDeleteFound this yesterday. Google "Gaspar Gazette" and look for the link. You will laugh your asses off. It's all the news that's never printed including a photo of Kristen, Paul, Jerome $tock$, and Muir all dressed in ISIS costumes with toy guns!
ReplyDeletefunny.. but I think they were shooting for duck dynasty and not ISIS.
ReplyDeleteYou have some active imagination. I get the feeling you don't like them?
I don't like $tock$ either and have no idea why Gaspars would willingly associate with ethically criminal behavior folks.
6:31- Stocks loves to be around people who are "famous" in their little circle. He is a part of their inner circle. A vote for either Gaspar is a vote for Stocks to do hie thing, along with Mikey.
ReplyDelete"Ethically criminal behavior" 6:31 AM? Kranz, Barthspear and Shaffer have violated State laws dozens and dozens of times in the last year: you guys like them so you overlook their outrageous behavior. A complaint about Catherine's complete violation of the 'serial meetings law' and the 'Open Meetings' laws on June 14th when she humiliated a half dozen volunteers in the City Council Chambers by firing them off her illegally-formed Working Group has been written and submitted to the FPPC; not to mention a complaint submitted to the California Bar Association that Barthspear is supposedly a member of; Barthspear, Shaffer and Kranz are as 'criminal' and 'anti-ethical' as ANY Encinitas City Council person since Sheila was removed as Mayor for physically accosting a worker on the Leucadia Blvd construction site.
ReplyDeleteMikey never tires. Guess when this is your only source of income, you work it.
Delete12:50PM Why don't you hire a clown to harass these people. Seemed to work just fine last time.
DeleteThe sad thing is, Gaspar has built a decent small business. He has plenty to be proud of.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that he thinks he has to make shit up to gild the lily shows how insecure and arrogant he is.
Why not just be humble and proud of actual accomplishments?
This doesn't sound like a good temperament for an elected leader.
It doesn't matter how many lies are told because winning is the only motive.
DeleteGaspars and Trump = LIARS!
4:19
DeleteHillary Clinton campaign leaders from 2007/2008 have admitted responsibility for originatinating questions of President Obama's birthplace. The emails have been posted online for all to see.
Hillary Clinton told the FBI under oath that she had received no special training in how to handle classified information. Last week a signed document by Hillary Clinton acknowledging she had received special training was posted online.
A few weeks ago Hillary Clinton and her DoctorsDoctors said she was in great health. Last week citizens journalist caught video of Hillary collapsing and being ambulatized in her medical/campaign van.
Last week Donald Trump told Detroit voters that Bill Clinton proposed resettling 10,000 Syrian muslims in Detroit and using taxppayer money to have them rebuild Detroit. President Clinton did propose that.
This week Donald Trump said America used to build cars in Flint, and in Mexico you could not drink the water, today he said cars are being built in Mexico and in Flint you can't drink the water. Mr. Trump speaks the truth.
Hillary Clinton and the Gaspar's are the same. Crony insiders working for donors.
You can't fix a rigged system by electing the people who rigged it.
5:35 You may want to get your head out of the sand. Or is it your back end?
Delete5:35 Got URLs?
DeleteA guy named Levi Strauss started making denim jeans way back. They're called Levi's because Levi's company makes them.
One Gaspar, two or more Gaspars. One Gaspar's car. Two or more Gaspars' house.
We have acceptable alternatives to both Gaspars in 2016. We have no good alternative to Hillary Clinton this year.
Grandma grammar Beacons can't help herself. Geeze.
DeleteWhat are you going to try and rename next Leucadia.
7:59
DeleteHuh?
We have a distinct alternative to Hillary Clinton.
DeleteLocally we see what looks like the crooked and dishonest self-serving actions of elected leaders, government bureaucrats and the cronies and donors who back them.
Elected leaders sign their names to ballot statement lies. Taxpayer money is used to fund bogus research to mislead citizens. EXtra paychecks are awarded to friends. Donors receive city contracts, and changes in land use.
At the federal level for 40 years the uniparty of Bush, Clinton and Obama have treated American citizens with the same disregard, while enriching and rewarding their globalist banker friends.
Bad trade deals are written to benefit insiders and the media misleads the public. Immigration Laws are ignored and the media misleads the public. The middle east is destabilized, and the media sells the fake pretenses to the public. Yellow cake Powell and the architect of Benghazi Hillary.
There is an alternative candidate willing to enforce existing immigration laws to protect legal American citizens. There is an alternative candidate who wants to have fair trade that benefits legal American citizens and not globalist bankers. There is an alternative candidate willing to confront and expose the lies and misrepresentations of a corrupt media complex.
You can't fix a rigged system by electing the same people who rigged it.
9:05 Who is this unnamed paragon of virtue who has the solutions to our nation's problems?
DeleteYes, I heard the 101 Main Street Association wants to give Leucadia a different name when they screw up the Coast Highway. They think the name Leucadia sounds too foreign.
DeleteCounty Supervisor Dave Roberts writes:
ReplyDelete"According to [NCTD], trains were involved in 26 highway-crossing incidents along its rail lines in 2015, which resulted in four fatalities. Also in 2015, trains killed nine people who trespassed onto the railroad tracks."
So lower the tracks through Leucadia. Get us/keep us out of the statistics. It's not that hard.
DeleteIf we are to take Paul's use of "Dr" as the new standard, then any PH.D is entitled to put "Dr" in front of their name in a political campaign and "prescribe common sense for Encinitas". Or J.D. So any attorney or English Literature PH.D can run as a doctor. Makes perfect sense to me.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 12:51 (on the 16th). Paul built a nice little business. Why cross the line on puffery to the point where it becomes misleading? I think it it's a character issue. This is the same guy who concocted the brilliant idea to create a sham charity. He likes the gray areas and has the hubris to think he can pull one over on all of us.
I don't think we need that quality in a mayor.
Don't vote for Paul Gaspar.
Paul Gaspar is an arrogant tool. The Rotary Club thinks that they can run a chimpanzee and with the right puffery and exaggeration. put them in office. He is totally unqualified for any civic office and should get trounced at the polls.
DeletePauls a doctor like Kristen is a CFO - Haaaa! LIARS
ReplyDeleteIn there own mines. Too bad they are not smart or honest enough to really earn the titles. No wonder they are friends with $tock$ and Assreem.
OK, got it. The Gaspar's go to the Beacon's.
ReplyDeleteI wrote a handy reference guide:
DeleteGaspar = 1 Gaspar
Example: Paul Gaspar pretends to be a physician.
Gaspars = >1 Gaspar
Example: The Gaspars inflate their records because they are deeply insecure.
Gaspar's = belongs to 1 Gaspar
Example: Paul Gaspar's DPT diploma means he cannot prescribe medications, because he's not a medical doctor.
Gaspars' = belongs to >1 Gaspar
Example: The Gaspars' character issues make them unfit for elected office.
I hope this handy guide helps.
Thanks, 11:08, for the handy guide and clarifying examples. Please provide a similar guide and examples for Beacon, Beacon's, Beacons and Beacons'.
DeleteThe historical beacon coincidentally stood on the bluffs above Bacon Beach.
DeleteThe beacons were installed to lead early aviators to breakfast.
The beacon's light pattern illuminated a pig pattern in the marine layer.
The beacons' utility faded over time, as GPS has emerged as a more reliable and accurate system for navigating to tasty pork products.
3:43 Your guide isn't handy or helpful.
DeleteCuriously, it's pig oriented, leading readers to conclude you're a porker.
6:25 - The guide from 3:43 is both handy and helpful and the only porcine content is perhaps related to the common referents of all of the helpful examples. So, 6:25, the only conclusions that readers are likely to draw are that YOU are confused.
Delete7:45 You must be the little piggie that cried "Wee! Wee! Wee!" all the way home.
Delete9:35 - assume you are same person as 6:25. Tell us about your pig obsession. All the pig references make us all wonder.
DeleteSee 3:43
DeletePork.
DeleteI don't see any Beacon tote bags.
DeleteDoctor Paul ain't even qualified to write this PRESCRIPTION:
ReplyDelete(altogether now)
She put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up
And said, Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take
I say, doctor, to relieve this bellyache?
I say, doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take
I say, doctor, to relieve this bellyache?
Now let me get this straight
You put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
You put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Dr. No!
ReplyDeletePaul Gaspar is a fraud like his wife.
ReplyDeleteAs was only too clear at this past weeks forum, Paul is not ready for prime time. If there ever was a less impressive performance by an uninformed candidate, Paul wins hands down.
ReplyDeleteHis puppet masters, who we all know only too well, must be sheeting bricks, and wondering how they can repair the damage done. We can assume, the next debate or forum, he/they will present a 'new and different Paul', but don't believe it for a second.
There is little to work with there, to begin with. A last name is no qualification, especially considering Kristins record. They are grasping at straws, to have ever thought that a shared last name is all one needs.
Considering those who are pulling the strings, this is so typical of their standard operating procedure.
We have had more than enough of seat fillers for political expediency in the last few years and this shamefully continues this season.
This silly season is not silly in the slightest. It is crucial to our town to demand that our elected reps represent us. We do not have a choice when it comes to our hosing plan this go around. Only Tony B declares himself opposed to the urbanization scam that the city is offering.
Where was Tony B when the Planning Commission had the opportunity to offer our council the option of mandating a reasonable 25% of density projects be low income units?
Only Greg Drakos held onto his support for this mandate, while Tony B and Glen O'Grady folded their temporary majority after Tasha demanded they thwart this requirement before it ever got off the ground. This cannot be denied. It is in the public record for anyone who is doubtful.
It is disappointing how misleading all of our candidates and council members have been. If Lisa Shaffer can claim to be an ethics professor as one who has been unable to demonstrate ethics over and over again, the bar is pretty low.
DeleteHow can a great city end up with such poor choices in leadership?
2:27pm. The one word answer is apathy.
ReplyDeleteThose civic heroes who fight for the rest of us, are what we all should aspire to by supporting them in whatever small way each of us is able. It all matters.
Simply making ourselves informed, so as to know when we are being lied to, is each of ours responsibility as citizens of this precious community that is worth protecting.
The reason why we don't have an acceptable plan after all these years is not the publics fault. It is the city's fault for never producing anything we can tolerate.
Urbanization is not the answer. One would think staff would have learned from the past, yet it isn't so.
No on T now.
No on T tomorrow.
No on T for as long as it takes to dump it. Dump T, dumpty, dump, dump. It kind of has a ring to it.
To help defeat Measure T:

Please mail your contribution to P.O. Box 230062, Encinitas, CA 92023-0062

Yuck!
"Without an advanced degree in Psychology, I can't tell you if the use of these terms is evidence of a specific mental disorder."
ReplyDeleteWithout an advanced medical degree, I CAN tell you that you're an ahole.
You make it personal because you don't have a rational explanation for Gaspar using "Prescribing" when he's not a physician.
DeleteYour friend is an egomaniac.
Prove me wrong. Let's hear why you think it was a good idea to use "prescribing" in his campaign slogan.
If it ducks like a quack...
Delete"evidence of a specific mental disorder" are your words. And he's not my friend. Just calling you out because you deserve it.
Delete1:45,
DeleteYour quote is taken out of context. It followed another phrase: "I can't tell you". Because unlike your buddy, I admit my limitations and don't pretend to be things I'm not.
I noticed that you still don't want to address the primary point and defend the use of "prescribing" by the "Doctor."
Do you think that was a smart move? Would you have advised him to use that phrase knowing the "Doctor" isn't an M.D.?
Because I'm not trying to defend him. And, again, he is not my "buddy". You used those words. Own it. Ahole.
DeleteOkay 2:12,
DeleteIt was snarky to juxtapose "Doctor" Gaspar's "prescription" problem with another voice who admits they are not qualified to make a diagnosis without the proper credentials, and to sneak in mental disorder as part of the snark.
Guilty. The snark was entirely intentional.
Now, which is worse: intentionally being snarky on a blog, or intentionally misleading people an inflating your station in the healthcare community in your campaign slogan to become our elected leader?
The last time Brandenburg (sp) ran for city council, he called himself Judge Brandenburg. Although at one time he was a Native American tribunal judge, people trashed him. This time, if you notice, he has left off the Judge part. I guess my point is, unless one is truly a doctor, as in Medical Doctor, it is probably best to leave it off your campaign slogan. If Gaspar was a medical doctor that would be one thing to be proud of, and his prescription idea would work. However, he is not a medical doctor, so in my opinion, he sounds arrogant, has low self-esteem (or he wouldn't use the title) and is narcissistic. Sort of like his Presidential pick, Trump. Perhaps they are two peas in a pod. Being a physical therapist has absolutely nothing to do with being a city councilman. And, he has partners, so he didn't build all of his businesses by himself. Not sure what to make of him.
DeleteEven if he were an M.D., that would be irrelevant in city government. It would have no bearing.
DeleteOn the other hand, if he were a retired fire chief and on the council, he could protect his absurdly high pension and knock down any challenges to the fire department's status quo.
5:17- you nailed it. Congrats.
Delete"Even if he were an M.D., that would be irrelevant"
DeleteWhich makes the puffery even worse. It serves no point other than ego gratification.
Muir has been dead weight on the council - he always appears dazed and uninformed at meetings. The fact that he was initially appointed is a tale of cronyism. He needs to go - even at the expense of electing another dolt to replace him on the council.
Delete8:04 I agree. Muir is incapable of making a decision on his own. He always follows the lead of ditzy GASpar.
DeleteMuir is nothing more than a BIG pension hog, still lining his pockets at the taxpayer's expense.
We need to dump Muir and get fresh meat on the council.
Fellow citizens, everybody check out the "gaspar gazette for" the run down on the gaspars. There is no doubt that the truth lies within this timely recent contribution by who knows who. It sure isn't the gaspars. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteGaspars are getting double bang for the buck on their campaign signs - two complete incompetents vying for office - God help us all if either win!
ReplyDeleteRoberts better get on the stick and start campaigning - use Gaspar's inconsistent and conflicted record on the city council to derail her generic campaign promises.
I'll vote for Brandenburg out of sheer desperation.
ReplyDeleteBrandenburg doesn't know the issues. Look elsewhere.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.gaspargazette.net/
The URL is .net, but the site calls itself .com
DeleteNone of the others know the issues or have already been predisposed on where to stand on the issues - they all represent special interests.
DeleteSomeone on another thread, or perhaps on another blog, said about 1500 people signed the NoRailTrail petition that went straight to the City Council, although most people who signed did not know that. Now, all of us who signed have our information out there, as it is public information.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I received a birthday greeting from a physical therapy place I used to go to, which was not Gaspars. Interesting because they had my legal name on the envelope, not the name I go by. This means they have access to my insurance information. The fact I never went to any Gaspar Physical Therapy office bothers me. Where did they get my name? Then today, an email from Gaspar Physical Therapy appears on my email account. It was something about how to do something. I didn't read, or watch the video. Where is he getting these names and emails? Has anyone else had this happen to them? It appears as if he might have bought the PT place I had gone to in the past, as the address was from the old place. So, if he bought it, does that make it OK to use our personal information without asking? I really don't know. It just seemed strange.
I do know that the 1500 names are public information, as a friend of mine did a CPRA request and got them all. If that person can do it, so can any candidate. Paul has claimed to be one of the first defenders of the NoRail Trail. The website for this group is hidden very deep into cyberspace and 3 people I know have tried to find out who owns the domain. Why is it so secretive? And, if Paul was in on the NoRailTrail from the beginning, perhaps he and his wife picked the first group of people on the list that Catherine changed up. Remember Jerome Stocks was on that first list, as well as many of Gaspar's cronies. Something's going on but I am still not sure what it is. All I know is he and his new friends from the No Rail Trail (all 6 of them) are doing some fancy dancing. Better keep an eye on it.
10:37 You are "the shrink" posting anonymous. You are as dumb as you look.
Delete11:08- So why do you hate Lorri Greene so much? What has she done to you? How do you know she posted this, and if she did why do you care? Some of us are getting tired of your constant B.S. about Lorri, as everyone knows who you are talking about. Tell you what. If you think she is dumb and looks it, prove it. People like you disgust me.
Delete10:37 - funny enough I got a fundraising email from "Dr" Gaspar and it was sent to my personal email address. Where did he get that? I never went to his clinic and am not a supporter. All the other candidate emails were opt in. Very very odd.
DeleteThis is the real Lorri Greene posting. I once walked with Martin Luther King. I asked him how he handled the hate toward him. His answer was "If everyone likes you, you stand for nothing". So, if someone wants to post that I am dumb as I look, which I can't quite figure out what that means, by all means go for it. I have been around way too long to let some anonymous blogger get under my skin. I will point out, however, that this post was not about me. If, however, EU wants to do post about me, I would be happy to share what I really think.
ReplyDeleteHear hear!!
Delete- The Sculpin
Nobody is liked by everybody - does that mean they all stand for something? Not one of Dr. King's most profound statements.
Delete11:17 and 11:25 You are as dumb as you look.
ReplyDeleteThis is the real poster.
Where did the people who signed the petition think it was going? A petition sent to council e-mail addresses is part of the public record. Candidates and businesses are free to use the information.
ReplyDelete4:48- I signed, but I thought it was just a bunch of people signing and then the NoRailTrail people would take the petition to the City. I didn't realize it would go to the entire City Council and it did not state that it would. I guess I was just didn't understand that all of my personal information would be made public. Lesson learned.
Delete11:08, 5:12, 7:10 - whoever you are, you crossed the line with those bullying and mean spirited personal attacks on Lorri. It's one thing to attack a public figure - fair game because they stepped into the arena - but this is different. You are nothing but trolls (the adult versions of a 13 year old playground bullies). What the f*** did Lorri ever do to you to deserve this kind of venom?
ReplyDelete11:18 PM She expressed her opinion. That can be a perilous gamble these days.
ReplyDeleteLooks like WC nuked the most outrageous posts with the truly nasty personal attacks. Yay. Right thing to do. I don't mind the rough and tumble nature of the debate here and all should have thick skins and be ready to take some punishment - but when attacks are on a specific individual by name with appalling insults, slander, and implied threats then that's too much even for EU.
ReplyDeleteIt's Trump's fault.
ReplyDeleteNope. It's Gaspar and his trolls fault. We all know that.
ReplyDeleteTrump is the model. He's lowered the bar. He's given everybody permission to be crass, to lie with abandon, to be limitlessly selfish, egotistical and narcissistic. If he wins in November, the country will go down the drain and cease to stand for ideals that other countries and people follow.
DeleteTwo years ago, Mike Andreen mysteriously got ahold of the names of the original 95 HEU parcel owners. He then invited them to an "informational luncheon" about the joys of being identified as an upzone parcel winner.
ReplyDeleteGuest of honor? Kristen Gaspar. So who slipped Mikey the list?
Jerome Stocks.
ReplyDeleteConflict of interest $tock$! One wonders how many back room deals he pulled off during his council run. I'm sure a lot of the developers have bought their insurance policies thru him. He was apparently able to disguise any other kickbacks, unlike his buddy the kitchen chef, Dalager.
DeleteSssstocks was not on Council then. Gaspar, however, was.
DeleteI don't get it! This blog can attack others, but when some are attacked they call foul. Case in point - you can't trash Lorri because it's not fair, but have at with Stocks, Barth, etc. Wow, I didn't ever think I would be backing those two together. Don't be Hypocrites! What's good for one is good for others!!!
DeleteIt's the nature of the attacks as well as the target. Did you see the offending posts before they got taken down? They bordered on hate speech. They made awful, slanderous, destructive accusations. And they were directed at someone by name, not a time stamp attached to an anonymous poster. Also, that someone is a private citizen, not a public figure (e.g. a candidate, official, or former office-holder).
DeleteStocks has always been in the background, even after he left the Council. He is one of fundraisers for Gaspar. And, he was also behind the infamous HEU parcel owners luncheon. That one is not hard to prove if you just dig a bit.
ReplyDeleteOK, great, show the proof.
DeleteI assume Muir gets his money from the same group that funds Gaspar(s). But he has leisure money with a pension of $190,000/year!
ReplyDeleteDon't vote for Muir. Let him kick the scammed 35% of his pension back to us.
ReplyDeleteThat ain't gonna happen....
DeleteAnd I ain't voting for him then.
