Meanwhile Illinois pension funds are $130 Billion with a B underfunded that's only 37.6 %, hey let's be nice and round up to 38%.....Calif is right up there in financial liabilities.
Prop T failed. The city needs a housing element. That she wants to meet with one of they key opponents of Prop T seems like a good thing. Is there a better way forward? How would you go about getting a new housing element?
How to get a better housing element: 1. Council must revoke, rescind, whatever, Measure T, its EIR, and any other connection completely. 2.Start the update with the existing housing element. Mike Strong, Jeff Murphy, and Manjeet Ranu didn't follow that procedure. 3.Don't add more programs than is currently in the existing housing element. 4. Don't upzone. Murphy and Ranu feed a line of bull that properties have to be upzoned. Not true. 4. No upzoning, no changing the General Plan nor the Municipal Code, no increasing height, might even pass Prop A.
I just read Shaffer's newsletter on Encinitas Votes and it says Marco Gonzales told the city to just adopt T, even thought the public voted it down, and he would then represent us in court pro bono. Why would he do that? What does he get out of it? Can the City Council really even do this. The voters said NO to T. Can they just overturn an election result? If they can do that, what other powers do they have. It freaked me out.
He spoke at the meeting. Awful. He continues to threaten and has been empowered by corrupt authority, including the Court of Appeal judge who wrote the bogus opinion re Desert Rose. As I read somewhere, paraphrasing: "Legality isn't about justice; it's about power."
Want an understanding of the collective mind of the city Council. The diesel lights at Leo Mullen were declared illegal last year. Tonight the Council approved a contract with the Encinitas Express soccer corporation to allow the use of the illegal diesel lights on Leo Mullen field for 18-24 months. What part of illegal doesn't the Council understand?
It was an illegal situation. Where is the proof the lights were up for ten years. See the Coast News article - http://www.thecoastnews.com/2016/11/16/is-leo-mullen-agreement-legal/
You're joking, right? Where is the proof? Ask the HOA, who by the way have fielded ZERO complaints from their association for those past 12 years. You feel compelled to comment so strongly on something you obviously know very little about..
Lights have been there for thirteen years. Homeowners at Cambria had no idea our HOA was giving permission. They have been a nuisance but club will reposition certain lights to help reduce glare. The fact that it goes against the current ERSP is an issue the city has to deal with.

ReplyDeleteIt's called a Ponzi scheme people...
City Council meeting Nov. 16, 2016 -
ReplyDeleteBlakespear finally reveals her sneaky behind the scenes subcommittee that will have both public and private discussions on saving Measure T.

Delete10:14 sounds like the habitually pissed-off Tony. Or Lisa. Between his anger issues and her bitterness, it's hard to tell them apart.

You have no understanding of anything Julie G.
Deletecould be donna, but she usually understands stuff. my guess is she would say no. 1 and no. 2, but not the rest.
Deletenot sure what 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4 mean. maybe it was a 3rd grader that wrote it.
I thought the proper list enumeration was:
Delete1.)
B.)
III.)
quad.)
e.)
six.)
vii.)
8.)
1001.)
etc.

ReplyDeleteYou mean the same lights that have been in use for over 10 years? Seems like a practical approach to a tough situation..

DeleteShaffer4encinitas web page has gone away, now if Shaffer would also. ( her husband's political career lasted less than a fart in the wind).
