In addition to Thai, Korean, Japanese and Chinese cuisine, the new restaurant, named Open House, is proposing to sell beer, wine and alcohol on site with a Type 47 liquor license, the same type of license as its predecessor.
Open House is proposing to open earlier and close later than El Callejon, with business hours of 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Good for them. Hopefully no whiny downtown carpet baggers complain about it! Downtown Encinitas has always been synonymous with watering holes - that is where white European Americans talk, drink and socialize. Drinking at bars is a cultural tradition. What's not a cultural tradition is the proliferation of neo-hippie yoga gyms. How many more of these quack gyms can Encinitas handle. These 'spiritual snake oil' salesmen (they are all salesmen-want to argue that-they either PRODUCE more gym visits by their congregations or they're fired) attract all sorts of anti-Christian whack jobs who are so self-centered that they think by stretching in tight and revealing pants that they are going to 'discover' themselves..jah jah jah jah...you gotta laugh with me on that one! No more liberal far-east neo hippie anti-Christian yoga gyms! BTW there more than 32 cases of ataph infections coming out of our local yoga gyms...looks like it's time for some serious regulation and enforcement. Let's stand up the 'Stretching Gym Health and Safety Enforcement' commission.

Know the guy who is opening Open House - he's the Blue Ribbon Pizza guy. Judging by his pizza, this food should be good. Nice guy to boot. Think closing hours are the same as El Callejon was....RIP.
ReplyDeleteEveryone in this town complains about partying and drinking but misses drinking and partying at El Callejon.
