More fingerprints on sham charity: Kristin Gaspar's, and developer David Meyer's

Last month, we learned that the charity sending out campaign propaganda to support incumbents Jerome Stocks and Mark Muir was tied to Paul Gaspar, husband of councilwoman Kristin Gaspar.

When questioned by the North Coast Current, Kristin Gaspar declined comment and directed questions toward her husband.

Now the trail goes directly to Kristin Gaspar.  The Coast News obtained the October 22 We Love Encinitas filing with the California Secretary of State which lists Kristin, not Paul, Gaspar as the agent for service of process.

More troubling than Gaspar's dissembling is the revelation that developer David Meyer is also behind the group.
The documents also list David Meyer, a real estate consultant and land developer in Encinitas as the secretary and chief financial officer of the group. Meyer’s past advocacy includes forming a political action group to oppose policies promoted by the late Councilwoman Maggie Houlihan.

A page from We Love Encinitas' Articles of Incorporation. It lists Councilwoman Kristin Gaspar as the agent for service of process. Documents filed later list Paul Gaspar as the agent for service of process.
In an email, Meyer said that any questions about his involvement with the group should be directed through We Love Encinitas, and not his personal email and phone number.

All requests for comments from We Love Encinitas, including whether the group has been granted or is applying for 501 (c) 3 status, have gone unanswered.
Who does Kristin Gaspar represent? The people of Encinitas or special interests like developer David Meyer?

  2. Big surprise, eh? The plastic Steppford wife showed her allegiance colors early on; those that think she'll change her ways just because her mentor $tock$ is 'gone' are naive. Her appointments to boards should be the Macy's blue light special alerts and the high heel advisory board. She is a shill - DUMP GASPAR!!!!

  3. Shill for sure Dump Gaspar!!!..... She was put into office by Developers and will always be looking out for their best interest.

  4. I'm surprised that for being such an environmentally friendly/sensitive city and having many residents who support the "Green" movement and live its lifestyle, that Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein received so few votes--in fact in most precints less than Libertarian Gary Johnson. One would think that a Green Party candidate in progressive areas such as coastal Encinitas and Solana Beach, with a plastic bag ban, would garner hundreds if not thousands of votes. It's odd that for seeing so many pro environmental messages on t-shirts, cars, storefronts, etc throughout Leucadia, Cardiff, Solana Beach and reading about how many in the environmental movement are disappointed that Obama hasn't been more progressive on the environment, climate change, carbon taxes, etc, that voters along the coat didn't follow through and vote for the Green Party Candidate for President in large numbers. Could it be that most residents are flaky/phony in their support of the green movement and do it mainly for business reasons and to be popular/cool?

    1. No - satire is political commentary. It's freedom of speech the last time I heard.

    2. Informed political commentary is fine and welcome. Those who merely attack individual's looks, family, dress habits or such things are not welcomed to comment by most, you ignorant doddiehead.

  8. Funny, but the Agent for Service of Process is now her husband, Paul Gasper, per The CA Secretary of State's site. Bet this was changed from Kristin in a hurry!

  9. OH my Gawd!!! They're onto me! I'm off to Macy's for that shopping fix! Oh Jerome - where are you when I need your guidance!

  10. Oh believe me.... Jerome Stocks is still in conversation with Kristen Gaspar. I don't think she will be able to wipe Jerome Stocks and Mike Andreen's stink off her. Their acidic pungent smell is ingrained in the very stick of Gaspar's Polictical make-up (pun intended).

  13. Wow.. Rob go to one more AA meeting and tell them how you really feel about what you did and how you feel about yourself.

  14. Rob,

I have seen similar interactions between Gaspar and Stocks. Gaspar is definitely a Stock's disciple.

  15. That was a little over-the-top, so I deleted it (but was it not a realistic description?...). I definitely push the envelope on the internet, but there should be a limit. Cheers to you all.

    1. And just what is your limit Rob?

Just because you "pushed the envelope" does not mean you can just delete what you said and pretend it never happened with such a lame excuse.

Own your words Rob... We know that you can be such a complete tool at times... are you a coward too?

    2. Obviously my limit is somewhere less nasty than the comment I deleted. The fact that I deleted it and admitted being over the line should garner some credit from reasonable people.

I stand by everything I say. I strive to make meaningful and useful contributions to our online community. If you look at my comments as a whole, you'll see consistency and defensible positions that might be controversial, but are at least well thought-out.

Until this isn't an open forum, I'll continue to speak my mind. I will try to be less salty though, in response to yours and others' input.

      Fair?

    3. It isn't the saltiness Rob, it's about the truthiness of your accusations or claims.

You ask for fairness but your fictional tales can actually hurt people.

Is it fair to damage a persons reputation with claims that are not really true Rob?

      Delete
    4. While you are consistant Rob, I don't know how you can defend what isn't really true.

You could be a great politician with that philosophy.

  16. Push your limits elsewhere, please.

  17. Shut up rob. own your words. You are a puss for deleting your comments. If they were true, you should leave them.... if they were fiction, shame on you... Karma knows....

I have seen similar interactions between Stocks and Gaspar that you described, so I'm not sure? Kristen is a tool to Stocks that is given. I can guarantee that.

What is it rob? Grow some balls and integrity. The truth will set you free. For once rob, tell the truth.

Until this isn't an open forum.... WTF? What is wrong with open forum. Don't you like liberty and free speech without repercussion?

I have not seen anyone who didn't deserve a comment or two on the subject, crucified. People need to learn to have thick skin. Believe me or ask Jerome and Kristen. Most of the time the comments are spot on.

Every once in awhile you get a Mike Andreen, or a Sheila Cameron. The world has its rotten apples.

    You owe her an apology.

  19. It is one thing to take shots at a politician for their record but personal attacks on their family or looks is a fine line.

Certainly Paul is fair game now that he has formed some kind of sudo PAC.

Attacks on Kristin's looks or as a mother is another matter.

As a parent myself my personal interactions with Kristin or Jerome for that matter have been in a community family setting. We have kids that are the same age and I know that she is a great mother and her children have been raised well from what I have experienced.

Same goes for Jerome. He is a good father and family man. Say what you will about his political accumen and I certainly will not condone his behavior on the dias and I did not vote for him. Personal attacks on his family should be off limits.

What is really sad is what happened to Dan's family on this blog. I can't and won't defend what he did and I did not vote for him because of the undisclosed loan he took from a developer. Even though he was an easy target, his family did not deserve some of the personal attacks and hate that were recklessly written by others on this blog.

Having thick skin is one thing. Fictitious trolling for reactions is another animal. Some accusations on this blog have real unintended colateral damage to good families.

    I concur.

  21. If politicians can use their looks, family and personal life to get elected why is their personal off limits?
