Feds' new racial integration rules could overturn suburban cities' local zoning

Here are takes from the left and right.

What say you?

  1. Very simple.

Most Federal and State money comes with strings attached (by the way, so does non-profit and private sector money).

Don't like the requirements? Then don't take the HUD money.

  2. Encinitas will remain very white and very wealthy. Surfing, followed by wine and dinner and then more wine...

    1. Money has always dictated composition of neighborhoods - if there is an apparent racial disparity created by this, then it points to sociological/economic factors, not "racism".

    2. 12:23 Say what you will. You know without a doubt there is still racism going on this world. To deny it, is ignorance.

    3. 1:37 PM Then it is not confined to one racial group.

  3. White? Black? We are all human beings. Have we come this far to still be racist? How sad.

    1. Social equality my ass... I'm working like a dog on this Saturday afternoon, I'm not at the beach like my economically deprived friends. They sit and moan they can't afford a house in Encinitas yet won't get their asses out of bed until noon or unless there are great waves.

Anything worth having is worth working for...Coexist my ass!!

    3. I don't they could afford that million dollar house in Encinitas even if they did get their ass out of bed, and I'm guessing, needing can you. This is a rich guy town now, rich people live by the beach, that's all...

  5. Social equity = redistribution of income.

  6. Redistribution of income? How? Higher wages? Handouts? Social programs? I presume you would consider that some "effort" is involved in order to qualify? Otherwise, it is the grasshopper and ant story...

Yes, yes, yes, and no. No effort is involved. And no, it isn't the grasshopper and ant story. Try Marx (not Chico, Harpo, Groucho, Gummo, or Zeppo). You are out of the loop. SANDAG is pushing social equity. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

    1. 6:37 PM Ability and need are very relative terms. Sounds like you are revising the no free lunch theory.
