6/8/16 City Council meeting open thread ** SPECIAL 5 PM START TIME **

The current city council has continued prior councils' practice of not providing written summary minutes of council discussion, but only "action minutes" which state the outcomes. Encinitas Undercover will provide a forum for observers to record what occurs at each council meeting.

Please use the comments to record your observations.

Please note the special 5PM start time to review community grant allocations.

  1. "Item of interest tonight: neighbors' appeal of the Hymettus Estates density bonus project on Fulvia Street."

I don't see this on the agenda.

    1. I saw that appeal get rejected about a month ago. The question is whether the residents decided to give more money to Felix Tinkov, Esq. to continue the fight in court.

    2. Sounds you don't think they'd have a case?

    3. I'm sorry but realistically they don't. Staff has favored the developers all along. After a few iterations they wore down the Planning Commission. The City Council didn't seem to see a legal basis for denying. Maybe Tinkov can do some magic but it's going to be costly and there's no guarantee that a Judge would overrule the City.

    2. The DCM lawsuit is about rounding up or down on base density. The parcel is the Weston greenhouse property on La Costa Avenue just west of I-5. Of course, Meyer wants to round up.

    3. we might still love you but hate your heavy handed cencorship.

You have definitely turned this blog into a rag to support your views and not an open forum.

even with your heavy cencorship, its still much better than the other rags around. Thanks EU.

  6. You have the wrong week on the Hymettus Estates travesty. Try next week or the next week, or the next week..............................

    1. Considering "staff" gave out three different dates before figuring out how to work a calendar, WC deserves a pass.

  7. Glenn Pruim has got to go.

Pure talking head with no brains behind the skull.

Bad judgement calls all day long and then spends his time time trying to defend them. Total loser!!!

    1. How he kept his job after the Rossini Creek mess and $400K-plus fine to TAXPAYERS is a utter mystery.

    2. "An" utter mystery. Yes, it is indeed.

    3. His so-called pavement management plan involves lowering the threashold for acceptable standards to allow them to neglect our roads for longer. Changing a standard from 'fair' to 'good' does not change what it is. It is only a change in name and has nothing to do with engineering.

  8. Everything he touches turns to shit. No wonder Carlsbad demoted him and was going to give him the boot. He experienced the same thing that was presented to Lisa Rudolph. Leave or be terminated.

Hiring Pruim was a big mistake. Its time to clear Encinitas from this Director who make horrible decisions.
