Phil Graham running on fiscal responsibility, doesn't mention pensions

Graham for Council:
We should be proud that the City of Encinitas has had balanced budgets for many years. This fiscal prudence is important because our state and national economies ebb and flow. By planning for the long term and spending the city's revenue as carefully as we would our own, we can stop wasteful spending, abuse of our citizens' tax dollars, and plan for unexpected economic downturns.
Don't almost all California cities run nominally balanced budgets even as they let pension liabilities balloon and infrastructure decline? Is that really something we should be proud of?

Does Graham know anything at all about Encinitas finances or is this just a generic, feel-good statement suggested by his campaign consultants?

The same vagueness and vapidity applies to the rest of the issues on Graham's site. Graham may be an intelligent guy and may have some good ideas about Encinitas, but you certainly wouldn't know it from his web site.

After that fails to pay the debt, seizure of bank accounts ie, bail-ins, you have loaned your bank the money on deposit, they have no obligation to repay you. After that fails, seizure of banks and all their assets including YOUR safe deposit boxes. Basically ou and I are screwed... 10. When "property rights" come up, it is usually to help property owners realize more dense zoning.

"The undeniable fact is that our city and state are in a very bad position in terms of housing. It concerns me greatly that many of our children and grandchildren won’t be able to stay here, or move back after leaving for school or a job because of the high cost of housing. I will work to ensure that we both protect property rights but also deal with our affordable housing crisis, in addition to the protection of the unique cultures of our five communities."

    2. The facts are for the last 40 years the corrupt Uni-party leading our country, our states and our towns have sold out legal citizens. The uni-party backed by globalist profiteers have used Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama to promote open borders and illegal immigration. With 10 million to 30 million illegal immigrants in the country the nation's natural housing stock has been sucked up by illegal immigrants. There is not a housing shortage problem in LA, there is an illegal immigration problem. Entry level housing stock that is more than adequate and affordable for legal citizens has been bid up by illegals who live 2-3 families in an entry level house designed for one family. Johs that were entry level jobs for the kids of legal citizens graduating high school or college have become low paying careers due to the glut of workers cr3ated by illegal immigration. The Uni-party politicians have used this falsely created housing problem to push for more housing to entice more illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are given free housing, free education and free health care while the sons and daughters of legal citizens are priced out of entry level housing markets. To solve the fake housing problem America needs to fix the real illegal immigration problem. As for Grand children living in Encinitas what are we leaving our kids? Are we voting for open borders supporting uni-party politicians who line their pockets while disrespecting laws meant to protect our kids? Will our kid's benefit when the equity of their voting power is diluted by the arrival of illegal citizens encouraged to vote illegally? Until we as a country apply immigration laws now in place equally for all it is our kid's and grandkids who will suffer.

Commercial greenhouses use way more water than residential. Residential has gotten more water efficient with low flow fixtures, drip irrigation, and smarter landscaping. Also, we've displaced a lot of potable water use with purple pipe recycled water.

80% of California water goes to ag business, not urban/suburban areas.

Stop growing thirsty, low value crops like alfalfa hay for export to China, and the water problem is instantly over.

Teresa Barth and Tony Kranz were; all of our Council Members let us down on that, as well as our City Attorney who wrote a so-called "impartial analysis" ballot statement that was full of speculation and opinion. His statement violated Election Code in that it was not fact-based.

You evidently don't know that once an employee or elected official is gone, he/she loses all power and influence. The new people take over.

Do you think that, say, Pam Slater-Price, Dennis Holz, Teresa Barth or Sheila Cameron has power and influence?

Here's a clue: They don't. And they're very frustrated by that fact. That's why they hang on around the edges, wishing they still had the juice.

    14. 5:44 Here you go (dummy):

What is the difference between power and influence? There are many who are unable to distinguish between power and influence and regard them as being the same thing, but there is a big difference between the two and it lies in the impact they have on people.

Power is only yielded by powerful people like heads of state, government officials, kings, teachers and parents who hold enough authority and control over others to subjugate them to their wishes and commands. On the other hand, an actor or a music instructor might have enough influence on their students to make them choose acting or music as their profession just because they have the ability to change or direct the viewpoint or inclinations of their students.

The biggest difference between power and influence is that power can push people to do their tasks but influence helps them understand why they need to do it, as there is an emotional factor attached to it. One can only yield power with the help of money or position but one can have influence with just the right words and actions to accompany one’s words.

There are many people who have the power and the control and can make others do what they want but do not have the influence to affect their thoughts and ideas. On the other, there are people who have no position or power but have the ability to influence people very effectively. This differentiates power and influence; while power might make people do things, they may do it out of fear as they have no other choice, but influence is psychological, persuasive and voluntary and it makes people respond positively to what they are being asked to do.

Chelsea get $900,000 plus annually from the CGI and use of private jets polluting our air. Thru their donations to the slush fund the special interests and foreign governments got insider access and special deals. Hillary's current campaign insider John DePodesta profited millions by selling favors to Russia including dealings that resulted in the sale of US Uranium rights. Wether it is Chinese business men illegally donating to Bill, or Hillary selling access and policies to benefit her donors, the Clinton's win and American Citizens lose. Chelsea Clinton landed a $600,000 a year gig as a journalist at crooked NBC despite having no journalistic background, NBC has donated to the Clinton slush fund called CGI. Chelsea landed a Board of Directors position with IAC interactive media despite having no business experience. She earns $300,000 plus stock. IAC owner Barry Diller donated to Clinton's campaign. Last night a Presidential Candidate seeking office proposed a 10 point immigration platform to place the interest of American citizens before the interest of illegal immigrants. The platform included enforcing all current immigration laws that are in place, and not currently enforced. The plan included following the decision of the Court that ruled President Obama's Eexecutive Order by passing Congress was unconstitutional. We also have candidate Clinton who has stated her plans to not follow current immigration laws to the benefit of one group over another, and that places the needs of illegal immigrants before the needs of legal citizens.

    6. Trump is a joke. The Republican Party just nominated the second coming of Morton Downey Jr. Thank deity there are not enough old angry scared uneducated white dudes to give him nuclear codes.

You may as well start working on your crackpot conspiracy theories about how the election was stolen now. Instead of posting here, you should also start digging that foxhole in your backyard so you're ready when they come for your guns, or to put you into a FEMA camp, or if the invading hoards of brown people come to rape your dog. Just stay in that hole for four years; we'll let you know when it's safe to come out. It'll be like Groundhog Day for nut jobs.

    7. 10:22 news out that NBC , a donor to the corrupt pay for play Clinton Foundation that promotes globalism, will host a Candidate forum on Sept 7. News also out this morning that NBC uni-party member Matt Lauer will "moderate" or control the discussion. Matt Lauer is a member of The Clinton Global Initiative. Can we expect to a rigged systems to be fixed by the people who rigged it? Does this explain why NBC hired Chelsea and paid her $600,000 despite the fact she had no journalistic experience?

    8. 9:12. It appears you may be wearing Hillary's tin foil hat, seeing conspiracies everywhere! America has an illegal immigration problem, an open border, unenforced immigration laws, and security problems. Candidate Clinton has a policy to ignore and not enforce current immigration laws for only a few groups she chooses. Candidate Trump wants to enforce current immigration laws for all equally. Who sounds like they are compassionate to all- the candidate who ignores laws, or the candidate who would apply the law equally? Candidate Clinton wants to increase immigration from Syria and nations with Jihadi's sworn to kill Americans by 600,000. Candidate Trump proposes using the constitutional provision to temporarily halt immigration from nations with Jihadi elements sworn to kill Americans until a vetting process is in place to ensure the safety of American citizens. Which candidate wants to protect legal citizens from Islamic terrorism, the candidate seeking to increase immigration jihadi nations or the candidate seeking to imorovertake the vetting process? Coming to America is a privilege not a right. Candidate Clinton supports sanctuary cities that hide illegal immigrant felons that commit crimes on legal citizens, by using taxpayer money to fund these cities that ignore US laws. Candidate Trump proposes to enforce current immigration law and withhold federal money from cities that are unwilling to follow federal immigration laws. Which candidate most wants to protect legal citizens, the candidate willing to use taxpayer money to fund cities that harbor illegal immigrant criminals. Or the candidate seeking to enforce current immigration rules equally for all? As for NBC and IAC and their ties to the Clinton Foundation and hiring of Chelsea Clinton that is public record, as is Matt Lauer being a member of the CGI, just like George Stephanopoulos. When you are prepared to take of your tin foil hat and debate policies let us know.

    9. 8:55, 10:43 There are these things called paragraphs. We learned about them in the primary grades of elementary school.

We also learned how to think rationally rather than going off on biased rants.

You must have been absent for those years, so you have no ability to separate fact from fiction.

Your guy Trump is an orange clown.

    10. Apply the law equally, you say? Does that include Cubans, who have an automatic path to citizenship, otherwise known as the Republican swing state electoral collage Latino loophole?

Please tell us more about "the Constitutional provision" that allows President Trump (gag, cough) to act unilaterally on immigration issues where President Obama can't.

At the end of the Vietnam War, we welcomed refugees called the boat people. We took a risk. You know what happened? Nothing bad. In fact, these families have been a great addition to America. David Tran had no money, no contacts, and couldn't get a job when he stepped off a Taiwanese freighter with 3000 other refugees.

He started Huy Fong Foods, named after that freighter, and started making Sriracha hot sauce. He built a billion dollar brand that employs hundreds of people.

People like David Tran would not be here if fear mongers like Trump were running things.

Every wave of immigration has good apples and bad. Steve Jobs and Al Copone.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

    11. 11:23 political operatives be them Karl Rove or David Axelrod, Nancy Pelosi or Paul Ryan or George Bush or Barack Obama prefer American citizens not know the truth. One side points to Ted Kennedy's push in the 60's on immigration or the so called loophole you reference to distract from the realitY. Each side blames each other, solve nothing, and then write laws allowing them and their cronies to profit at the expense of legal citizens. Shameful.

American citizens have immigration laws in olace today that are not enforced, and have not been enforced for 30 years. One candidate running for office refuses to enforce existing immigration laws and puts the needs of illegal immigrants before legal citizens. The other candidate wants to enforce immigration laws equally to all to protect legal citizens, all legalitarian immigrants and their communities and children, which candidate represents you? One candidate wants to use taxpayer money to fund so called sanctuary cities that knowingly service illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, the other candidate wants to stop using taxpayer money to fund sanctuary cities that service illegal immigrant criminals and use that money to protect legal citizens, legal immigrants and their families, which candidate do you choose? One candidate wants to increase immigration from countries that have jihadi's who have threatened to kill americans, the other candidate has proposed using an existing constitutional provision to temporarily halt immigration from nations that have jihadi's threatening to kill americans until vetting can be improved to protect legal citizens and families, which candidate do you choose? One candidate has supported the use of Executive power to bypass Congress and write new immigration laws, the other candidates has promised to enforce existing immigration laws now in place and passed by congress, which candidate do you choose? On June 23 2016 The Supreme Court ruled President Obama's Executive order supported by Hillary Clinton that by passed congress and benefitted 4 million illegal immigrants was illegal and violated the constitution. When you prepared to debate the policies of today please do so. Illegal immigration is simply that, illegal.

    12. Your loud orange ass clown is never going to be president, and his stink will stay on the Republican brand for a generation.

The main difference between ISIS and Trump is exactly which year to plug into the time machine. Newsflash: we are not going back in time, and any ideology based on backward time travel has a very limited future.

    13. 3:30 name calling benefits no one.

Reasonably intelligent people will answer each of the following questions for themselves.

      1. One candidate supports ignoring existing immigration laws to serve illegal immigrants. The other candidate supports enforcing existing immigration laws to benefit legal citizens. Which position do you choose?

      2. One candidate wants to increase immigration of Middle Eastern Countries that have jihadi's sworn to kill americans to benefit non-citizens and donors to her foundation. The other candidate wants to use an existing constitutional provision to temporarily halt immigration from nations with jihadi's until a more effective screening system is in place to benefit legal citizens. Which position do you choose?

      3. One candidate wants to take taxpayer money away from taxpayers and use the money instead to benefit illegal criminal immigrants in santuary cities that ignore US law, the other candidate wants to use taxpayer money to benefit legal citizens and not send taxpayer money to cities that disobey US law and provide safe harbor to illegal criminal immigrants. Which position do you choose?

      4. One candidate supports ignoring the US Constitution and bypassing Congress to pass illegal Executive Orders that benefit illegal immigrants. The other candidate supports enforcing existing immigration laws to benefit legal citizens and following the rulings of the Supreme Court. Which position do you support?

These are straight forward questions. There is a clear policy difference between the candidates. One candidate wants to serve the interest of illegal immigrants, the other wants to serve the interest of legal citizens.

    14. 4:20 OK, you've learned about paragraphs, and you can count to 4.

Remaining problem, however: Nothing you've accused the soon-to-be-winning candidate of is true.

Another problem: The soon-to-be-losing candidate is a dangerous wacko orange clown.

    16. 5:57 it appears you are devoid of facts. Each and every item is irrefutable. You offer no facts to prove otherwise as they do not exist. American citizens have 2 candidates with 2 different policies. One candidate has polices to ignore existing immigration laws and put the needs of illegal immigrants before legal citizens, the other candidate has policies to enforce existing immigration laws equally putting legal citizens first.

    17. 5.) One of the candidates believes we are going to deport more than the population on Encinitas every single week for four years, and the other is going to be president.

6.) One of the candidates is highly qualified, with significant support from prominent leaders of the other party, and the other candidate is an orange game show host who will never ever ever be president.

      These are irrefutable facts.

    18. 7:54 you provide opinions not facts. It is your opinion one is qualified. You refuse to debate policy as you know your position is the wrong position and you fear admitting it.

It is OK you support policies that benefit illegal immigrants and take from legal citizens and their children. It is not OK that you hide and refuse to acknowledge your position.

It is OK that you support the policy of taking taxpayer money from legal citizens and using their money to harbor violent illegal immigrant criminals who commit crimes against your fellow countrymen, it is not OK that you refuse to take ownership for your position.

It is OK you support unconstitutional excecutive actions that benefit the interest of illegal immigrants over the well being of legal citizens, it is cowardly of you not to take ownership of your position.

    20. 10:26 your refusal to debate the merits of the policies of each candidate is telling. Sadly, critical thinking and thinking for one self is lost for some.

Thankfully, many can think for themselves. There are clear policy differences between the two candidates. One candidate has noto held a press conference for 270 days- , avoiding the press. The other candidate has taken questions from the press daily, which candidate is more transparent, the candidate in hiding or the candidate accessible to the press? Independent thinkers see this clearly.

For those who did not see the Angel Mom's speaking so eloquently of the loss of their loved ones at the hands of illegal immigrants last night it was moving. Presidents Bush and Obama care nothing for them or their losses that could have been prevented. They seemed so appreciative to finally have a voice.

    21. 11:06 Are Jill Stein and Gary Johnson the two candidates whose policies you cite?

      Delete
    22. Socialist Gary Johnson in an interview yesterday refused to use the term illegal immigration, he used the "new speak" term undocumented. When challenged by a reporter, he admitted undocumented in fact equalled illegal.

Jill Stein gave an interview to PBS this week. Because PBS is a tool of the DNC, video of Stein critiquing the failed policies of Hillary Clinton were edited out of the interview shown to viewers. Jill Stein also went to the wrong city today for her rally.

Hillary Clinton remains in hiding. She has not held a press conference in 270 days. The FBI released additional information on their investigation of Hillary. Hillary stated she had a brain injury, forgot things, and did not remember briefings. she also lost some 13 phones with information, brought a cell phone into an unsecured area, and wiped her personal server clean after the NY times reported on her illegal server.

Elsewhere the Angel Mom's, who are american mothers of all ethnicities who have lost loved ones murdered by illegal immigrant criminals, thanked Donald Trump for giving voice to their needless loss. The leader of the Latino's for Trump, was quoTed as asking why the media is not covering Donald Trump's 10 point immigration plan.

  30. Graham, like $tock$, is supported by the Building Industry and Developers.

The questions you have to ask yourself is do you want Encinitas to become Huntington Beach?

If no, then don't vote for Graham. Its that simple.

No on more traffic, pollution and crowded beaches. No on Prop T, and no on Graham!

  31. Our new poster, as of late, sounds like he is straight out of the repugs tea party mindset. The national references that he brings up sounds like he might be Kristins campaign manager Joe Rosa? Could it be? Are we so [un]fortunate to have him posting on EU?

Inquiring minds want to know. Whoever this person is, his national perspective might be worth questioning why we have him posting here on local issues. Then again, transparency has never been their forte.

    ReplyDelete
  32. national doesn't matter bitch. That is done and paid for.

We are talking local which has much $$$ behind it. Development money from Eckey (meyers)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well, the majority of legal American citizens of all colors and creeds want current immigration laws enforced to protect community character, you know things like national history, security and safety, culture, borders that serve residents, laws that serve residents, leaders that serve residents.

This year's national election for the first time offers a choice. One candidate wants to enforce current laws to serve residents, the other wants to write new laws to benefit cronies, donors and non-citizens.

Our local election does not offer a choice. Local residents want to enforce current laws to serve residents, but the candidates Tasha, Mark, Phil, Paul, Tony, Catherine all stand as one in wanting to represent new laws against the wishes of residents.

Could be because Blakespear's family stands to profit with land and the family trust fund- Ala the Clinton Foundation on a local level.

It might be Gaspar, Muir and Phil want to benefit their donors, ala like the Saudi's donating to the Clinton Campaign.

Or it might even be Tasha influenced like Hillary by open borders globalist George Soros and his belief that the little local people don't matter, that only enlightened elites should write the laws.

There are similarities and differences between the federal and our local election. It is too bad we don't have a council candidate running who wants to enforce current laws to protect residents. That person would get my vote.
