    1. Nice huh. McDermott & Co. Don't give a rat's ass. They're too busy congratulating themselves on their big brains to care what they do to those outside their exclusive circle.

  12. 20 or 25 years ago that building was an Italian Restaurant "When in Rome". They served at least wine and had the upstairs room. They are not in usiness but the property owner has found new tenants. Now the upstairs room is a private business networking club and the downstairs are other booze businesses.

    2. Our culture cherishes getting together over booze. It eases conversation and leads to the formation of great relationships and many marriages. Booze will always be part of our culture. There is very little retail/booze real estate in Encinitas. if you live near commercial property and complain, shame on you. YES men will urinate outside and close to their watering hole often. If you live near commercial property you should buy a clue and understand this.

    3. Why don't they just buy some booze at the 7/11 and go have their braniac meetings? No, something else is going on here. Why the need for a $90K liquor license? It doesn't add up. Unless, of course, you're Kranz and Blakespear.

  13. Man that lives down the street says LC wants to exchange their alcohol permit for a permit that will allow them to have live music and be open until 2 am and drink alcohol.

  14. Why do 20 LC members need beer trucks and alcohol delivered?? Can't they go to Costco like all of us??

  17. Tim, man that lives behind LC, says he used to patronize Pandora Pizza says after outdoor patio came in noise level went up and the area is a hostile environment. Wants to know why LC needs a liquor license when they can go buy booze from 7-11 or next door.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Tim calls approving of new liquor license for LC is " crap".

  19. Kranz can't wait to approve. You can see it. He's been red in the face and squirming for awhile now. He absolutely cannot wait.

  20. Planning commission says alcohol at that location is necessary?? ( someone fill me in on that one, I had to pee).

    ReplyDelete
  21. Mayor B wants to limit deliveries to AM hours only. Says a big truck could deliver a " keg ". Why would a club need a big delivery truck to deliver a " keg"??

    ReplyDelete
  22. Blakespear searching for a way to approve by asking irrelevant questions.

Can't help you, 7:23. I was peeing in Tony's driveway. However, a friend not out peeing said they didn't discuss necessity.

  23. Mayor oks more booze for Leucadia. Kranz agrees. Muir grows a pair and says no.
Without 3 yes votes the Planning commission decision stands as ok for more booze. PC says more booze at that location is necessary.

Blakespear tries to smooth over disagreement by telling the parties to use city mitigation, " Its free".

Mayor B calls swearing of new council members is a love fest...

    1. The stupid mediation program is Blakespear's baby, which is why she's always pushing it.

What she refuses to get is that residents get nowhere with developers and those who'll bring revenue to the city. She should sit in on a mediation and experience the complete waste of time for residents.

All this "hoping" business was old the first time. She can hope till the cows come home, if the city passes something, residents are screwed.

  24. Tim gets screwed over by city.
LC members celebrate by going out for a drink??

    1. The real world will rattle Tasha, and cause her to wonder inside how she got to sit up there, and wonder if people are thinking she is smart enough.

    2. She is in over her head. Looks like she'll align with Blakespear and become an echo chamber.

    3. She has her own agenda and closes her ears to anyone/ideas that don't taste like her favorite Shaffer/Barth/Blakespear Kool-Aid flavor.

  27. New Council. Takes them almost 2 hours to get through the Consent Calendar. Ought to be a gavel-bang.

  28. It's so nice to have an intelligent mayor for a change. The last one was way too juvenile.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Under the cover of appearing juvenile was a scheming, paid for conniver.

Blakespear now has to find her spine and her voice and her brain and stop "deferring to staff as experts" and hiring consultants to do the work staff should be expected to perform.

      Delete
    2. Hmmm...so you want her to stop hiring consultants and rely on staff to do the work, but you also want her to stop deferring to staff as experts........yes, I see....that makes perfect sense.

I'm going out on a limb here, but when you need a plumber do you call a landscape architect?

      - The Sculpin

      Delete
    3. You call neither when you have both a plumber and landscape architect on staff. If neither can do the job, you get replacements who can.

    4. Employ generalists who can be effective at 70% of the most common work encountered in day to day operations.

Hire contractors for the remaining 30% that is one-time or periodic, and more efficiently done by a specialist.

    5. 12:17 is the underlying point and correction to my post at 10:28.

Get rid of a sneaky and inept staff you cannot rely on/defer to. Hire people who know how to do their jobs without engaging in the wink and nod. Continue to do your own homework, council, as staff can turn corrupt at the drop of a hat. Pessimistic? No. Realistic? Yes.

    6. Thanks but you sound like Julie G.

  29. When the Leucadia Club first opened they said they didn't need a liquor license. What changed? Let's all apply for membership. I tried, but no one got back to me. Maybe I'll try again. I still don't know what they do behind closed doors. Does anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes londoners fly in and do business at their location. Also they facilitate start up funding for small companies. Perhaps you can go over and ask for some cash. They seem to have a lot of cash. They said last night they've spent $500,000 to get a $90,000 alcohol permit.

  31. 7:25am Wrong again Mikey. Crawl back into your hole and stay there.

You have often accused my posts of the same thing. When all you can see are chosen from such a limited few, your cognitive mental abilities have to be called into question at some point and we have been past that point for years now.
