You can tell that the public is over this city council.
Not one public speaker on the city budget that funds all city operations and capital projects.
To make matters much worse, the city council didn’t question one thing from the incompetent Blakespear-hired AZ “city manager” and her failed team.
$113 million in general fund ( tax payers money)
$106 million in city hall expenses.
Leaving only $7 million to maintain the vast list of city infrastructure, including all of their streets and drainage and facilities and Parks.
What a sad state of affairs from a completely incompetent City Hall.

The fact is Encinitas is awash in revenue. The city is one of the richest in the county and has plenty of money to do plenty of capital projects.
The problem is the current wrecking crew at City Hall is completely incompetent. They bring forward staff request after staff request and are completely inefficient at getting anything done regarding needed projects.
They completely ignored the drainage of the structure leading to over $5 million of waste on Lake Drive and they are replicating their poor performance on drainage issues on Highway 101. Bruce put an incompetent manager in as City Manager, instead of doing a real search for the most competent city manager with no former city management track record. She’s only been assistant with poor performance including multiple beach access closures due to lack of maintenance.
Come on City Council, pave our roads.
You need to reduce the full-time possessions by 40 to get the money needed to pave our roads.
You are failing. We will remember this next election.
6 months in and the council is fixing roads and drainage. They are ticketing vehicles and clearing out encampments. They have put the homeless industrial complex on the watch list. They have also started to band with other cities to challenge Sacramento.
They’re not fixing our roads and didn’t budget nearly enough money to fix the roads. The roads and all of Encinitas infrastructure including Beach access is deteriorating in front of our eyes.
And the city council keeps green lighting all of these huge developments that are making parking impossible and LA stylecongestion wasting all of our lives.

More than 40 chemicals listed for cancer are present in diesel engine exhaust. These include benzene, arsenic, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, 1,3-butadiene, lead, and numerous polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (a class of chemicals created by burning fuels and other substances).
How does exposure to diesel engine exhaust occur?
Exposure occurs by breathing in air containing diesel engine exhaust. Sources include diesel-powered motor vehicles, ships, trains, generators, and other diesel-powered equipment.
Exposure also occurs through contact with diesel engine gases and exhaust particles, which may be absorbed through the skin or unintentionally ingested. These contaminants may:
Be present on the surface of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Enter vehicles, homes, and other structures, where they can settle on surfaces and be absorbed into dust particles.
Main ways you can be exposed to diesel engine exhaust:
1. Breathing in air and dust containing diesel exhaust
2. Swallowing contaminated soot and dust deposited on the hands and transferred to the mouth
3. Touching contaminated surfaces and dust, and absorbing contaminants through the skin
During pregnancy, some chemicals in diesel engine exhaust can pass from mother to baby.

Save Encinitas now actually understand the issues facing Encinitas.
Our current mayor seems like he’s trying to be friends with all of the Blakespear crowd, and he has not done shit in six months.
Ehlers hired an incompetent city manager with a horrible track record of not maintaining Beach access and building ridiculous unnecessary additional senior centers, and closing beaches.
City Hall looks just the same as it did under Catherine Blakespear and her gimp.
Residents deserve better.
Mr. Jim, O’Hara and Luke Schaffer, you two seem like you’re looking out for the residents and have good common sense. Please activate and get a city manager that understands the issues like Save Encinitas Now.

The city council meetings are complete shit shows, but some of the public comments like the strong women are classic.
Natalie’s comments and Mark Mavills comments are always spot on.
Greg Lafave had the best comments of all of last year.
The oral communications portion is the best part, by far, of the city council meetings.
The rest of the meeting just resembles the clown show similar to when Blakespear was running the shit show. Really no different. Unfortunately.
I wonder if Blakespear will ever put her gimp up for running for city Council?
