All coastal train service in San Diego County will be temporarily suspended Saturday and Sunday for scheduled track maintenance and to advance two construction projects during what transit agencies call an “absolute work window.” The 3 Encinitas residents who occasionally ride the Coaster are encouraged to carpool with one if the thousands of responsible EV commuters. All coastal train service in San Diego County will be temporarily suspended Saturday and Sunday for scheduled track maintenance and to advance two construction projects during what transit agencies call an “absolute work window.” The 3 Encinitas residents who occasionally ride the Coaster are encouraged to carpool with one if the thousands of responsible EV commuters. You will find its much quicker anyway and does not pollute the earth like the disgusting Coaster debacle.
After this weekend, the next work windows this year are scheduled for Oct. 17 and 18, and Nov. 7 and 8.
The entire North County coastline is so much healthier and better for mother earth when North County Transit Disaster is not running their world polluting death box program they call the Coaster. And it’s going higher, because global inventory is falling, many tankers are trapped in the Gulf of Trump’s Stupidity, and the tanker routes to alternative oil sources all became much longer—effectively shrinking the amount of oil a tanker can deliver in a year.
Less oil production + less tanker capacity + stupid MAGA = shrinking inventories all around the world.
The longer it continues, the higher prices go to destroy demand, until vacations are canceled, factories close, freight hauling slows by boat, airplane and rail, flights are canceled.

Here is the best news of the week:
All coastal train service in San Diego County will be temporarily suspended Saturday and Sunday for scheduled track maintenance and to advance two construction projects during what transit agencies call an “absolute work window.” The 3 Encinitas residents who occasionally ride the Coaster are encouraged to carpool with one if the thousands of responsible EV commuters. You will find its much quicker anyway and does not pollute the earth like the disgusting Coaster debacle.
After this weekend, the next work windows this year are scheduled for Oct. 17 and 18, and Nov. 7 and 8.
The entire North County coastline is so much healthier and better for mother earth when North County Transit Disaster is not running their world polluting death box program they call the Coaster. What a colossal waste of hundreds of millions of dollars on a failed program that kills so many people and pollutes or mother earth. This is likely SANDAG's biggest flop of all time in the 40 years of taxing the shit out of you and wasting all the money of failed projects and program.
There is a much better path forward but NCTD board appears to be too stupid to open their eyes and minds. the public needs to demand change. Here are your clowns:

The 65 mile segment of coastal rail between San Diego and San Clemente has 12 has big problems. Add them all together and it becomes clear that a "Save the Coaster/Metrolink Train At Any Cost" mentality is misguided and will lead to significant financial, environmental and community consequences that will last for decades.
It is time to turn this tremendous train problem into a singular opportunity - a beautiful, practical and popular rail-to-trail that can serve "active" commuters (bikers/walkers) , nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts (especially surfers!) alike - THE SURF LINE TRAIL.
KEY BACKGROUND POINT: A MISSING COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS
NO COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS HAS EVER BEEN PROVIDED by SANDAG or OCTA made by proponents of the coastal train tunnel(s) despite the large but unsubstantiated claims (i.e. large ridership, reduced traffic, reduced GHGs etc). This required document is critical for transparent community discussion and assessment. We believe this analysis will clearly show little benefit of a tunnel and demand its completion before any further work on a prospective tunnel resumes.
