Patch:
The group had just gotten out of a vehicle when Hernan Cruz allegedly pointed a long-barreled gun at them and demanded they turn over their wallets and other belongings. The victims complied, and the masked robber told them to leave, Strohl said. They did so, then made a 911 call once they were out of sight of the thief.
Deputies fanned out through the neighborhood and found Cruz in a yard near the scene of the robbery, along with a loaded shotgun and ski mask, Strohl said.
If the 800 block of Clark sounds familiar, it should. That's where an alleged gang member was beaten two years ago with a baseball bat by a bunch of guys in a pickup. The "victim" in that case was 18 years old at the time, and Hernan Cruz is now 20, so you do the math.
The Cruz family lives in a city provided Habitat for Humanity house that neighbors have gone to the city council various times over the years leaving with promises that the city is preparing to cancel their habitat contract and evict them for multiple violations. These promises by city officials have been repeatedly broken.
ReplyDeleteInstead of "Hearing" about this family maybe you should take a minute to know them.have you ever even met them?! my assumption is no considering you only go by what you "hear". i've known the family for years and never have i read headlines saying "Entire Cruz Family something, something all did something wrong"...have you? they are people just like you and me and should be treated as such.
DeleteI agree 100% with you^ ^ Most of these people are all talk behind a computer screen and like I said, only know what they know due to news report. Their sources have not once mentioned the families side.
DeleteNow can everyone see why raising the zoning to 30 units per acre in Encinitas for affordable housing ISN'T such a swell idea?
ReplyDeleteAll affordable housing will go into Leucadia or Cardiff. Get ready. It's already decided.
DeletePS- the city is pulling all funds for both communities and redirecting the money to the Hall Property. It's already decided.
I'd like to hear more about this Cruz family & why city officials continue to give them a free ride.
ReplyDeleteThey Don't got a free ride faggot they actually all work9 to 5 of I'd like all these shit talking fags should shut the fuck up ur so hard behind a comp screen say shit like that to their faces fucking pussy ass wite folk shouldn't have moved to the hood then bitchmade punk
Deletelol lighten up dude, and chill out.
Deletelighten up when you are all bad mouthing his family? not likely.
DeleteAll of you dont know what ypur talking about
ReplyDeleteHopefully before you convict in the court of public opinion you have some facts to back up the allegations against the entire family.
ReplyDeleteFuck u fag come to Clark and say that fagot to me tough guy
DeleteI actually do have accurate facts. I know the family personally.
DeleteStraight up if you dont know the situation of the family get your facts straight and if you dont live around that neighborhood then why make remarks about something youve only heard one side about. Regardless of what youve heard or your perogative on what you think you know if you havent succeeded in kicking the family out then you wont anytime soon. Dont blame the whole family, single out whomever has disturbed the peace but back up a little and think twice
ReplyDeleteThe family is harboring a violent criminal and they are accessories to everything he does.
DeleteActually you don't know that. You are getting your opinion from a news article. You clearly don't know the family. Yes he committed a crime however the family is not guilty of the same.
DeleteI think this young man is simply misunderstood, a victim if you will. We (the community) need to reach out to him and embrace him as one of our own, God Bless this child.
ReplyDeleteHernan was a nice kid growing up but he's a grown man now with multiple arrests and if his family loses the house its his fault for sticking a gun in someones face and choosing to be a criminal. It would be different if his family lived in any other house on the street that they owned outright, but the Habitat for humanity houses make you sign a contract in order to get the house and that includes no criminal activity, drug dealing, and gang activity, and if you violate that you can lose the home. Mrs Cruz has allowed all of the above nonstop for years at this house (sheriffs records back up this fact). I feel bad for his little sister, that can't be a good environment for her to grow up in.
ReplyDeleteYour right but he is also an adult and of course needs to go out and live on his own but the mother has control over what he does. If he moved out he would still hang around. For now we should just wait and see if any criminal events take place and if not then clearly its not the family.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone thought to contact Habitat directly?
ReplyDeleteThe city is having a "special meeting" tonight at the senior center,( another special project to buy votes, that's what the senior center is), to decide the Hall property. Hey folks...it's all decided. The city is pulling money from other projects to build the park, so Stocks, Bond and Muir can boast about their accomplishments as they run for re-election in Nov. This is what it means:
ReplyDelete- No money for Cardiff
- No money for Leucadia
- No money for street maintenance through out the city.
- No money for utility pole removal.
Anyway you look at it, the citizens are FUCKED.
Enjoy the charade tonight.
habitat says the city must foreclose, maggie h tried to get the former city manager to do it and thought it was going to happen but it never did, the other council members don't give a shit
ReplyDelete$4.8 million for a life guard station. Wtf??? Someone should be kicked square in the ass!!
ReplyDeleteEven Barth sold her precious Cardiff residents down the river.
