I Googled lease revenue bond abuse, and that's one of the links I got. There is no revenue stream, other than the General Fund.
The City keeps "shooting for the moon," like Christy Guerin told the Fire Department re new stations. We can't do "pay as you go, because we don't have the funds. I didn't see where CM Gus Vina factored in the probable $1 million fee to the Bond Counsel Consultant . . . You know, in looking up Lease Revenue Bonds in the State Administrative Manual, there doesn't have to be a revenue stream during construction, but there should be one after. It's fiction to suggest that the Library or the Hall Park will provide revenue streams, and the concessions at Moonlight Beach will NOT cover the debt payment . . .
No money is free. The City is spending more than it is taking in, year after year . . .
Anonymous @ 11:06, please state specific damage to buildings & sidewalks you mentioned. I find skateboards to be annoying w/r/t noise, but am unaware of any evidence that they damage anything.
I think it's wise to create places for teens that are cool & compelling. It's good for them & good for us!
And there is the maintenance and current bond service.... Over a million a year and the new bond costs. Sounds great if you don't look too close or add everything up. There is a reason that the city slips important decisions in at times like during a summer holiday, with very little or no notice to the public, and and then quickly votes. They do not want your input prior to them deciding for you. If you do not agree with them, you are an activist and will be ignored or silenced.

I'm really glad the skate park will be built, hopefully it will keep the little piss ants off my property and damaging my buildings and sidewalks.
