The current city council has continued prior councils' practice of not providing written summary minutes of council discussion, but only "action minutes" which state the outcomes. Encinitas Undercover will provide a forum for observers to record what occurs at each council meeting.
Please use the comments to record your observations.
Wrong approach.
ReplyDeleteJust decide we're going to trench the tracks through the city, don't consider alternatives, and get on with it.
Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant to develop the Encinitas Rail Corridor Vision Plan - no money.
ReplyDeleteStaff has a plan to assess property owners $7,000,000 in the Landscape and Lighting District. It will make a great slush fund for PV too.
Completely adequate bike and walking routes already exist close to the rail corridor through the entire length of the city.
ReplyDeleteSpending $18 million to duplicate them is an enormous waste of money.
Thank you!
DeleteWhen council realizes that people will opt to drive their cars over walking and biking, then and only then can we go on to the bigger and better things that Encinitas lacks.
DeleteToo bad they couldn't make a decision that is consistent for all parks to ban the booze. Muir (chuckle, chuckle) said he doesn't drink alcohol. I bet he doesn't eat food either.
Note to Mayor: No one comes to city meetings to see you, nor do they sit at home and watch the meetings to see you. You really need to become "unfull" of yourself. My kid looked at you and said, "she has crossed eyes". We really have better things to do on Wednesday evenings.
Dear 12:38 PM; The Mayor can out run you and beat you in a hundred yard dash, out point you on an S.A.T., beat you in Chess, beat you arm-wrestling and is all-around both a better and more pleasant person than you. She will most likely also out live you, Ms. Envy.
Delete1:41 That's very comical. Thanks for the laugh. Arm wrestling? Does she do that cross eyed?
DeleteI suspect 1:41 is her mommy or husband.
DeleteI suspect 12:38 will always be a snot.
DeleteYou forgot to mention nobody but our visionary leaders seem to want it.
ReplyDeleteSpeaker talks about 800 feet of retaining wall with breaks. She wants it? Suggesting crib lock walls. Ugly walls. City's General Plan says natural state - not retaining walls or crib walls.
ReplyDeleteThe citizens speaking are practical, realistic people. They're frustrated by the fact that the council, staff and SANDAG bureaucrats are not practical, realistic people.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Most civic-minded Americans are practical and realistic, especially if they've had to work for a living while raising a family!
DeleteWill Kranz tell another long story about where he went to school in Encinitas, how long his dad taught at Earl Warren, how many people he's known in town for many decades, and then vote to squander his heritage?

DeleteAnti-Semitic much?

Delete9:50 could also be a "real, red-blooded American." It is impossible to tell their anti-Semitic views from those of any other, including those on the other side of the world.
DeleteShaffer could cut words in half and say the same thing. Is there a talkathon planned for next years Spockblock? She will win.
ReplyDeleteTypical academic - hot air that dissipates rapidly, as there is no substance to it. I wonder if she peers into her Magic Mirror every morning?
DeleteMish mash mush. There's inconsistency all over the place, the council doesn't have enough information to make a decision, yet they'll rationalize like crazy so it looks as if they're actually doing something. Muir is making sense, now the others are getting the idea.
ReplyDeleteDalakranz could bore the shit out of anyone….
ReplyDeleteAn FYI- Marlena Medford (Communications Director for Encinitas) resigned. It's in the online edition of Coast News.
ReplyDeleteShe realized that she was on thin ice with the dictator Vina bailing out for another job. What did she do all day? Stare at the Internet?
DeleteThe job was unnecessary fluff - there are quite a few positions that also need to be eliminated in the bloated city administration.
