  3. This my 29th year of attending, and I thought the costumes were fabulous. Also, the "fanboys" are almost a quaint memory...at least 50% women go now, and this year neither DC or Marvel won any Eisner awards. The times are a changin'. Go to Comic Fest at the Town and Country in Feb 2016 if you wanna re-live the vintage con days.

  4. I wish I could afford to go, The bad economy doesn't even permit me to even consider going with the prices of tickets as they stand. Love your art on the side of the 7-11 in Leucadia, BTW...

  5. In 4th grade I liked MAD magazine. I started drawing a little bird that appeared in most issues that was drawn within the margin of a page. To this day I still draw it on letters or cards I write people. In 1995 a very large man walked into our antique shop. He had a cap on with the word MAD in capital letters. I was compelled to ask: "Do you work for MAD magazine"? "For the last 38 years!" He said. I quickly sketched out the bird and told him I've been drawing it since 1964. He said "I drew that!" ..."I was just doodling on the phone and they cut it out and put it in. And put it in. And put it in!" Then he introduced himself. It was Sergio Aragones himself (Spy vs Spy fame). He grabbed a piece of paper, drew himself drawing the bird and signed it for me! Just thought that was cool, 30 years and 3000 miles later he'd randomly wander into Caldwell's Antiques and do that. Fun guy. He kept drawing on everything!
