Opening Day at the Races Kook

Put on your silly hat and take the 7 horse in the third race.

UPDATE: The long shot 7 horse came in second and paid $8 to place, $6.40 to show. You're welcome.

  1. Horse racing is fixed. It's controlled by the mafia. Google horse racing scandals to learn more.

    1. The real scandal is the rake!

The house takes more than 15% on every bet, and more than 22% on the more exotic bets. That is WAY worse than the worst Vegas games.

      Emphasis on RICH!

    3. They don't call it gambling for nothing. Racing has always been fixed to the extent an owner may tell his jockey to hold the horse back, or not use Lasix etc. I think everybody knows that. Horseracing is dying a slow death due to a lack of horses and too many racing days....

  2. The two other scandals are 1) For the owners, everything they do for the horses, including purchasing, vet bills, drugs, euthanasia, boarding, etc is all tax deductable and 2) the horses are drugged to the max. If the owner doesn't want the horse to win a couple of races they hold the drugs. Then the odds go from let's say 2 to1 up to 30 to 1. They make more money that way. Anyway you look at it, it's animal abuse. And if it were not a rich person's sport it would be banned. How do I know this? Because I used to be a pharmaceutical rep for veterinarians and I had to work the back of the track. It is one of the many reasons I left the pharmaceutical industry. The abuse was beyond the pale, and yet, with all the animal activists out there, somehow horse racing still exists. Amazing and very disheartening.
