Covering civic issues, news, and the secret life of Encinitas
Did Mayor Barth include a photo of her fruit grove in the Glen public park?
It's chalk folks. And, although I don't like it either, I'm pretty sure Ms. Barth is making much ado about nothing as usual.
Barf is a classic example of a socialist libtard who is completely INTOLERANT of traditional American culture (pre-1968) and is at the helm of her non-profit to continue her subversive work in undermining and destroying all that we cherish. Beware of Barth and her Cultural Marxist masters (predominantly juice) AND ALWAYS beware of anyone who has worked for the goverment her entire life and doesn't have any kids!
Man, it was so sweet before 1968 if you were white and male. Good times.
If you were white and male you had to register for the draft and if you were REALLY lucky ya'll got to go to Vietnam, and if you were REALLY REALLY lucky ya'll came home in a box. Or hooked on heroin.
I recognize the lyrics to Balad of the Oppressed White Male.Sing us the verse about when women couldn't vote.
Because if history has taught us anything, it's that white Christian American male land-owners have received a raw deal.
Oh the irony. On Barth's FB page she says people should not deface public property. Where was she every time the Kook has been defaced, and she was on the Council. It's chalk and that is pretty obvious to anyone who actually went to look at it. It also can be seen by just looking around the area where the No Rail Trail chalk was put. It's all smuged, something hard to do with paint. Get a grip Barth. Go plant a tree or something. You have way too much time on your hands.
"The taxpayers foot the bill for the cleanup."- Lisa Robock Shaffer
Sure they do Lisa. The taxpaers get to pay for Barth's tree grove too. What is the harm? The Kook has been defaced for years and just because you and Barth don;t like the No on the trail people, you're gong to make a big deal out of it? Seriously, don't you have a meeting or something more productive to do?
Well, Ms. Schaffer, get on your knees and clean it up so you can save the taxpayers money. I dare you.
Seriously it's fucking chalk. I have seen chalked things around the Kook many times. I was for the trail. Now if Schaffer and Barth are for it, I think I'm against it. What a couple of babies. Poor Teresa. I guess she still wants to remain visable. And Schaffer is just pathetic. I guess the term "piled higher and deeper" really does mean it when it comes to someone with a Ph.D.
You were for it, but now if Schaffer and Barth are for it, you are against it? Is your belief system really that malleable?
12:24 beat me to it. Deep thinker, huh?
Shaffer's phony academic ego doesn't play out well in the real world. She has wandered away from the secluded confines of the Ivory Tower and is befuddled.
Hey wait a minute 11:28. Don't limp all Ph.D.'s into the same category. I have one and I know chalk when I see it. I am neutral on the trail, but I really don't see the big deal. Can't imagine with all that is going on in the City why Wc even put it up. It's on Barth's FB page as well. Now, lets talk about things that matter.
Shoot. I posted the last post and realized I can't even spell "lump" Maybe you are right 11:58:)
Defacing Encinitas with lack of road matinence beats this. Guess someone didn't let you play with chalk as a kid?
Barth's FB page says she looked at it and couldn't erase it, so it must have been some kind of paint laced chalk. Today it is gone, she goes on to say. This just keeps getting better and better. I want what she is smoking. Is there even such as think as paint lacd chalk?
Barfth knows how to tackle the substantive issues - watch out kiddies - your hop-scotch patterns are next on her agenda!
Oh boy. I know I'm going to regret providing this link. Disclaimer: Don't do this (but feel free to laugh about the guy who is)http://i100.independent.co.uk/article/this-man-is-painting-penises-on-potholes-so-the-council-has-to-take-action--ekSuZ63mgW
I sort of feel sorry for both Barth and Shaffer. They seem to want to be loved and appreciated so much that they cannot help but make a mountain out of a molehill. Maybe they need to go to a seminar on self-esteem, or something like that. It's hard being thought of as pissy, nasty, and vicious. I'm sure they only want to be loved.
"It's hard being thought of as pissy, nasty, and vicious."I'm left to wonder how one aquires such knowledge.
It might have been written in sarcasm...just a thought. Sheesh.
Thanks for your insight 5:56. I wrote the Feb. 9 post at 12:46. Yes, I did mean it as sarcasm. In the future I will refrain from doing that, as apparently I am not very good at that type of "humor".
In the history of Enc council persons, BArf and Shafter are top 5 idiots, and that's nothing for them to be proud of, but they are too dumb to know that....The damage they have done to this city is irreparable.
"BArf and Schaffer are top 5 idiots"2 = 5 ?
2:52- Add your self to that list.
Blakespear is tied with Barth and Shaffer for the top 5 idiots. Read her agenda item for tomorrow on mediation fees.
This mediation process was not well thought out. If neighbors don't get along with each and can't work out their differences, there is no mediation that will bring them together. Blakespear seems to have her head in the clouds. Come to planet earth lady. She is as bad as Shaffer who wants us to ride our bikes to work. Not going to happen.
Didn't happen for Shaffer, either, but she knows of course what's best for everyone else.
What a shame it is that BARF was not as passionate about important things like fixing our roads while she was serving in office. I can not imagine someone getting bent out of shape over something this trivial. She must think she is still important.
Here is shaffer- I beleive in natural retreat and smart growth as long as long as I don't have to provide any action to support my beliefs. 1. I live in a big ass box in the middle of subburbia and drive my car everywhere.2. I support borrowing $3 million dollars and putting a City Facility in the middle of the surfzone. It really doesn't matter that a mile down the road the city has posted signs that bluff is unstable and proceed at your own risk. Nice work City Council - We get a building in the surf zone and ignore the huge disaster one mile to the north. This City Council preaches one thing and acts another. Cant wait for these incumbents to get out.
Can anyone think of a response to the 10:27 challenge?http://encinitasundercover.blogspot.com/2016/01/city-releases-draft-eir-for-high.html?showComment=1454956063061&m=1#c7394222475857320011
Wrong thread, dude. And anyway the "challenge" turned out to be a hoax.
Nope. Definitely not a hoax. Just wanted to make sure everyone saw and had a chance to poke holes. So far, no one has been able to.
On the contrary, 15 or 20 have poked holes. Someone is definitely enjoying being the center of attention. Don't bother to waste your time with someone so stubborn.
15 or 20 people have described scenarios where voters' Prop A rights would be damaged by the proposed compromise?Hmmm. Must be something wrong with my eyes or my browser.
There will be a single vote on the up-zoning. If it passes, any and all of those properties indicated in the initiative language and map will be up-zoned by the voters already. Any up-zoning NOT indicated on the initiative will have to be voted on some other time. Any private-property in the Nov. 2016 initiative that is approved by the voters can begin to develop said property. There is NO second-bite of the apple. If the initiative doesn't pass, the BIA joined by a couple of Affordable-Housing groups will sue the City and a judge will have the choice of forcing adoption of the new Housing-Element or not; after 26 years of being in violation and with Meyers and Andreen on the job you can bet something will be done; so if you don't comment on the EIR in the next few weeks, you'll have no one to blame but yourselves. Of course, NOW with Lester gone from the Coastal Commission prepare for an overturning of Prop A in Monterey, yes, that rhymes. Happy Valentine's Day.
I'm sorry, but you are factually incorrect.Assuming the voters adopt the HEU at the ballot box, it doesn't automatically change zoning, or implement any programs. After adoption by the voters, both HCD and the coastal Comission review and approve the HEU. If they bless the plan, the city becomes legally obligated to implement the programs within the plan individually. The HEU contains specific dates for the execution of each required change, and some of those dates may be several years down the road. The ballot box vote authorizes a plan, which requires subsequent actions by council to put into effect. Go read the HCD-approved housing elements of a few other cities, and you'll understand. The day after Election Day, nothing changes.
Oh god, not that again. You do realize that if you rezone it, they will come, yes?
