Nice stethoscope, Doc!

  1. Now this is a person with one big inflated ego. He has ZERO political experience and has never served on a commission or a committee involving the city.

The only thing he seems to be good at is wearing his wife's high heels.

    NO to GASPAR for Mayor.

  2. His campaign manager thinks he should campaign this way. He and his wife have a very expensive manager, who believes in negative campaigning. Just remember this. If Paul indeed knows 99.9% of what is going on in Encinitas, then the only way he can know this if his wife is telling him what is going on on in closed sessions. I'm sure other Council people do this as well, but they are not going around being so blatent about it. Paul is a mini-Trump. He wants what he wants and takes no prisoners. Be careful Encinitas. I have seem him operate and he is no medical doctor!

  3. Just what we need.

A combative, deeply insecure person who brags about never changing his mind.

    What could go wrong?

  4. Party City sells them for about $5. Maybe he got his from Republican Party (city)?

  5. HI, I'm meathead Gaspar. I feign like an MD, when I'm just a therapist. I run a sweatshop, where sub-contracted employees do the dirty work. My wife and I kiss the asses of the big money people in town and will do their hatchet work for them. We rely on generic quasi-political statements, as we're both uninformed of the real issues, apart from what DCM tells us. We're the Stepford couple!

  6. A former employee of Paul Gaspar says they have trouble meeting their payroll. Wow, what a way to run a "successful" business. Sounds just like Trump.

  7. The good Dr.'s flyer arrived the mailbox today. It is curious why he insists on the "Dr" title. As if he can prescribe the right medicine for Encinitas. The fact that his wife quickly endorsed The Donald is also odd... why the rush? Why not just stay local? These people (the Gaspar's) are clearly ambitious but how does that serve the town?

  8. One Gaspar is bad, two Gaspars are worse.

  9. Paul Gaspar is an angry and incredibly negative egomaniac who pretends to be an MD when he's not, counts on voter confusion to get himself elected, created a sham charity to send campaign mail out for his wife (in 2012), and has the gall to run for mayor with no actual experience. Yuck. This guy is going to "prescribe common sense for Encinitas"? I prescribe a huge loss on November 8.

    Don't vote for Paul Gaspar.

  10. I am a 30 year republican,

Paul is bullshit for pulling the MD crap on a Physical Therapy Degree. Thats like the deference between rebuilding an old 1938 porche back to brand new condition, verses spray painting over the top of all the old rust.

Paul is all about painting over all the old rust. As we know with Gaspar and fat Muir that is not the way.

  11. If your physical therapist 1) wears a lab coat or 2) asks to auscultate any part of your body, run away!

Only first year Med students wear a stethoscope around their neck in public. Even they eventually figure out it makes them look like idiots. What a tool.

  12. Kristin Gaspar's mailers are arriving - playing up the CFO puffery and the soccer Mom routine - all generic, non-specific generalities. It is relying on a totally uniformed electorate responding to Pavlovian cues - it is (or should be) an insult to the average voter's intelligence. Vote for Roberts.

  13. Hang him with his own narcissistic words:

"I know more about city happenings than 99.9% of people that live in the city"

"I'm probably the most qualified person to ever run for office in Encinitas" (even though he has no experience)

"I'm tremendously gifted in public policy" (even though he's never held office)

"I don't change my mind a whole lot when I make a decision"

Bottom line: He has no experience but thinks he knows more than anyone else and is the smartest guy ever and is never wrong.

Oh yeah, he also thinks he's a doctor when he's not (or at least the 70s version of a doctor - hah!). All those pictures of him in his goofy lab coat with the stethoscope actually serve to mislead his customers not just the voters of Encinitas.

  14. The newest Gaspar signs declare that ethics matters. ??????

Words are only words to the both of them. The meaning is obviously lost to them and their puppet masters who we know only too well.

Expectations from either of them are low and deservedly so. They suffer from the same dis-ease as their repugnican party's chosen leader.

They are so deserving of having such a creep leading their way.

No on Measure T to Save Our City. This is the one vote that matters more than any other thing we could do for ourselves and this community.

    1. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell what really happened in the Roberts fiasco. Lots of smoke, but the other supervisors were quick to settle. They are partisans, and Dave is on the other side, so they have an interest in dragging him down.

      Delete
    2. Obviously the other supervisors wanted to settle because Roberts was keen on releasing to the public THEIR peccadilloes....

      Delete
    3. The other four supervisors of the opposite party refused to defend Roberts with county funds. They were forcing Roberts to pay his own legal fees. They changed their minds and decided to pay off the potential plaintiffs to keep them out of court and protect themselves from sworn testimony. The dirty laundry never got aired.

      Delete
    4. Do you actually read this out loud before you send it! To say the other County Supervisors paid out the $300,000 to damage Dave Roberts credibility is just CRAZY! You could probably justify Hitler's actions! Not to compare the two, but to point out your blatant misleading biases.

      Delete
    5. That is exactly what happened 2:15, nothng misleading about it. It is crazy you can't see the partisian BS. Roberts was very clear in every interview that he wants to go to court and was adamant about not settling. You should be pissed at the other sups. for using tax dollars to slander a fellow sup over party affiliation. But then again, Gaspar and the others give away our tax dollars to developers in the form of zoning giveaways and lawsuit settlements. She will fit right in with the rest of the Sups.

Dont have to try very hard to defend Roberts, his republican fanboy collegeues actions tell the whole story. Now go away over dramatic paid Gagspar blogger.

    6. KG and MM didn't want to settle the lawsuits. The other three council members did. Each council member's votes, including in closed session, must be reported out,in public.

    7. Wrong settlement. They were talking about the Dave Roberts harassment/hostile workplace suits.

    8. 2:15 PM -- $300,000 is peanuts for the county. The county was spending millions in appeals and defense of its Climate Action Plan, which had lost in court due to its deficiencies. Dave Roberts was very public in his opposition to the majority on the board.

He also played a critical role on the Lilac Hills Ranch proposal in Valley Center. Supervisor Bill Horn was forced to recuse himself from voting, leaving approval in doubt. Dave Roberts was clear that he didn't support the development because it violated the county's general plan.

Millions and millions of dollars will be made if the Lilac Hills Ranch development goes through, money that will find its way back into campaigns. It's now up for public approval on the ballot as Measure B, another end run similar to Measure A in Carlsbad by Caruso. Vote NO on Measure B.

    9. Even with Roberts staffing fiasco, the lawsuits etc, He beats Gaspar in the competency department by a mile. And if such things matter to you, Roberts is a former military guy and a longtime Republican in the past. He is now a Democrat...

  17. Gaspar will open the region to mass development. The region is already traffic grid-locked and resource compromised. She is a brainless dolt that is given a script by her handlers, the developers - she would be a DISASTER as supervisor. Roberts is the lesser of two evils.

    1. Earth to Paul: Your flyer is basically saying that your wife sucks as mayor and you are going to fix it.

    2. 2:26 That is the message I got from his flyer also.

    3. The irony will remain that Gaspar was the town's first Mayor. 30 years of City government has just served to be a huge pension windfall for the administrators; not much other benefit has resulted.

      Delete
    4. 8:21 She was the first "elected" mayor. We have had many mayors before her, with Marjorie Gaines being our first mayor.

    1. 7:52 - I doubt Kranz and Muir are campaigning together - they're each aligned with a different group (the "conservatives" are Gaspar, Graham, Muir and the "liberals" are Blakespear, Kranz, and Horvath). Within each group they're like little peas in a pod. But people are free to choose whoever they want so maybe you saw signs on someone's lawn who doesn't care so much about who's backing who?

  26. I saw the new large roadside signs yesterday with Muir, Kranz and Tony Brandenberg.

Politics once again make strange bedfellows here in our town. That image does make one want to revolt, if not ralph, outright.

No mention of Phil for Muir, no mention of Tasha for Tony K. Something smells with these new alliances.

We will just have to wait for the next council candidates forum for answers on Thursday evening at the library. ?

  28. Kristin Gaspar's mailers are coming 4:1 compared to Roberts. They are blitzkrieging the mailboxes. She is accusing him of corruption and attempted concealment of the "fact". She also claims Roberts promised to pay back the $310,000 settlement, but only gave $75,000 to his own campaign. Obviously no criminal charges were brought, so I assume these allegations are over-blown? If campaign mailers make the difference, Roberts is in trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Apparently part of the county land use agenda upcoming is the decision to rezone parts of the protected habitat of the Cleveland National Forest. Now the developers want to jam housing up into the foothills and valleys of the last bastion of native land for plant, wildlife and recreational use. This is beyond catastrophic - it is an impending environmental disaster! It makes it all the more imperative to defeat Gaspar and end her political career before she can do more damage.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Don't vote for either Gaspar. They are self-serving hypocrites and a huge, disastrous embarrassment for Encinitas and San Diego County.

  32. What is Roberts doing to campaign?? Kristin Gaspar's handlers have sent out about 8 mailers so far; the current one uses local news quotes about the Robert's office debacle. Unless Roberts gets off the stick, he'll lose this one due to the sheer weight of the propaganda funded by the developers for Gaspar. It appears that Roberts is rolling over and playing dead - he needs to attack Gaspar for her association with the developers and her ignorance of the issues of the county. Absentee ballots are out - Roberts is running out of time.
