Two men arrested in organized retail theft

Coast News:
Two men have been arrested in connection with a series of organized retail thefts in Encinitas involving nearly $6,700 in stolen goods, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

On Aug. 29, deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station responded to a reported theft at the REI store in the 1500 block of Leucadia Boulevard.

Authorities said a suspect, identified as 60-year-old Daniel Dipinto, fled the scene in a black Audi after allegedly stealing a Yeti cooler valued at nearly $300. The vehicle matched descriptions linked to previous shoplifting incidents in the area.

Investigators from the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) Unit connected Dipinto to additional thefts at multiple stores, including Target, REI, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Authorities said stolen items included Yeti coolers, Legos, Tumi bags and women’s clothing.

The investigation also led deputies to identify 34-year-old Omar Najera as an alleged accomplice. Officials allege Najera provided Dipinto with stolen credit card numbers in exchange for merchandise obtained during the thefts.
Dipinto appears to be a Cardiff resident.

  1. Tonight's update proved Rachel, Steven, Christie, Pete the engineer & mathematician were wrong. If only they'd paid attention to the lesson from educator Kevin "the idiot".

EV will always be remembered as the place where everyone thinks they're an expert on everything when they really have no clue wtf they're talking about.

I guess it was a perfect plant to let Encinitas know the ridiculous candidates and appointments the freak show proposes.

So bad the fire department union could not even get behind her. And we know the fire princesses always get behind anything for more money spent on their fire, princess castles and less work.

North County Democratic Central committee should all be fired. They’re freaking joke.

  6. Now that Kranz is gone, let’s get rid of the Tony Kranz fence that keeps causing havoc on the neighborhood. Us elderly and others have to crawl over the fence on our way to Just Peachy and are hurting ourselves. More people get hurt and lawsuits could be pending to the city regarding that f-d up fence.

That historic pedestrian pathways in our beach area have been in place long before the short term polluting railroad was established in 1800s. Since the 1990s, the ridership has never warranted the devastation on the community.

Kranz has been a nightmare for 12 years. Let’s start the cleanup process

Start the petition , Remove Tony’s fence:

  7. He’s got two more council meetings to finalize the damage he’s done. Tonight it’s Clark and Melba and next week it’s Quail Meadows. Lame ducks going to give it back to their community real good, once and for all.

  8. I highly encourage when people cut through the Kranz fence to not just cut the cables, but take out a couple of those wood posts too.

Thank you local heroes. We will clean up Kranz‘s mess.

    1. Don't do it. It's not actually a "Kranz fence", NTCD is responsible for that fence and the mayor/city council has zero responsibility for it

    1. Yes, but Tony supported it and the city paid for enhancements so it wasn't a chain link fence (though they constantly need to be fixed) . If Del Mar could win, so could we!

Mr Mayor-elect tear down that fence!

      Delete
    2. Yeah, do it Mr. Mayor elect.

      Delete
  11. Tear down that fence.

Tony supported it as chair of NCTD.

Local heros restore historic pedestrian pathway, and if Del Mar won, our local heros can and should tear down the Kranz fence.

  12. Dear Choosejoy,

I have tried reaching out to you multiple times and yet you haven't returned any of my calls nor have you replied to the message I sent you from my MySpace account. I am worried now that my lovey-dovey is history, I won't have access to city council emails. If we could please work something out where you can fwd me your emails now instead of Phony that would be great (you're the only one left that I trust). I will of course return the favor and give the state of Arizona a shout out at the next Republican Central Committee meeting. It's the least I can do. Please let me know your thoughts.

  14. *** Encinitas‘s real time news***

Before tonight’s big show where we get Tony Kranz and AntHill wasting everybody’s time with some presentations, we get to hear our own local heroes explained to the city council about real issues facing our neighborhoods.

I hope we hear from Natalie Settoon, Mark Mavill, And Raul, amongst many others who tell the truth, time and time again.

Then we get to hear about the traffic engineer, adding ugly posts And noise provoking rumble strips to the beautiful roundabout.

And converting the second senior center to the new fire station and hopefully soon they’ll open it up to all the homeless., so we get some value out of that vacant property with no one ever there.

But before all of that good information, The city council gets more lawsuits coming. After the $11 million paid out for Roberta Walker’s grueling near death wrongful harm and deadly conditions on a road payoff, we have the $32 million in the dentist family, no leaks yet on how much to City is on the hook for paying the wrongful death of Dr. Worley’s Family(that gotta be over $20 million), then we have the future Lawsuit from the four Cs regarding their dads wrongful death due to unmarked (reflectors were all worn off. The City didn’t do proper maintenance) street furniture, and now we have this from the Bode family- wrongful death future payout after huge pain and suffering.
