The widower of late councilwoman Maggie Houlihan.
I didn't know them much, but from what I can tell she was a gregarious hippie chick who settled here a long time ago and got a job as a bank teller. I don’t know how she got into politics, but she was beloved as a goofy, big-hearted council member, and mourned as she died from cancer.. Ian presented as a well-bred proper English guy. I gather they married later in life. He seemed in good health the last time I talked to him a couple years ago.
RIP Brother 🙏
ReplyDeleteHe was a kind and caring person who will be greatly missed.
ReplyDelete👆💯👏👏👏
Delete😢🙏🏾🌎🌊
Maggie was anything but goofy. A very smart, considerate person and probably our most beloved council person. Ian was right there by her side. Great people.
ReplyDelete👆💯❤️
DeleteI met her
ReplyDeleteI agree she loved Encinitas and she had a gift for bringing community together. IAN looks sounds like a wonderful man.. we need more like him. He left too soon, maybe he wanted to go home to Maggi. May he RIP
I did not personally know Maggie nor Ian.
ReplyDeleteRIP Ian. Well played! 👌
ReplyDelete- Preserving the true and best qualities of Encinitas ❤️
Admin with all respect to Ian (RIP) and his family, I respectfully request you start a new topic so the comments on Ian’s post remain focused on giving him duly deserved homage.
ReplyDeleteAnd we can move on with other Encinitas real time news.
- In the true nature of Leucadia blog- which was all time and I’m sure both Ian and Maggie enjoyed. ! Thank you, JP for those years.
Thank you and have an amazing Encinitas Sunday filled with gratitude in honor of Ian.
5:58am Were you there Sat. morning? The legacy of Maggie and Ian is, or damn well should be, everlastingly worth our respect.
ReplyDeleteThe banner story was particularly enlightening regarding a former mayor.
DeleteJerome claimed Maggie's image on the back of the banners was "political". Kinda hard to do that when you're already dead.
DeleteIan's brother and son was a bonus to the celebration of the gift that Maggie and Ian stood for. Thank you to those who chose to honor the both of them at the park Sat. morning. "We will not see the likes of them again" sparks a moment of respect for all of us.
ReplyDeleteHey everybody. Flag and stuff.
ReplyDeleteI hope Ian’s family knows about this tactical coffin.

It’s good because it’s tactical.
The woke liberals will never find you.
Sierra X-ray X-ray.
Luke out.
12:47pm My oh my, aren't you special?
ReplyDeleteSpecial in the church lady way, if that can even register with your state of mental acuity.
11:29- ❤️
ReplyDeleteIf Luke is the type to play fake tough guy and talk about picking up a rifle as a solution to a building permit, then he’s definitely the type to fall for slapping the word tactical on everyday objects to make tiny penis guys feel tough.
ReplyDeleteI think we should open a new thread. A toxic beast 1247 can't even respect the dead. The person who just posted hate is a hater from Cardiff. That is all I am giving away.
ReplyDelete3:12, and yet you said nothing in the thread above when it turned the subject to Stocks.
DeleteI made fun of Luke, not Ian or Maggie.
Your faux outrage is dumb.
426 why r u so dark 🕶️. Law school or grifter
DeleteIf it’s dark to make fun of an elected official who called for picking up a rifle in the context of a building permit discussion, then color me Vantablack.
DeleteThe jester has a long and noble history of speaking truth to power.
Toxic tubby white hair beast is back.
ReplyDelete310 is a beast ..asshole
ReplyDelete426 is weird
ReplyDeleteDivide and conquer is you every time and not to be trusted as far as anyone could throw you. We see you.
ReplyDeleteSee admin, this is exactly the type of posts I was trying to avoid.,
ReplyDeleteToo late.
RIP Ian. Those that knew you, loved you.
🙏🏽
I agree.
DeleteAnd Luke still uses a tactical douche before a colonoscopy.
Exactly
