KPBS:
Parents of an Encinitas elementary school student have filed a lawsuit against the Encinitas Union School District. The lawsuit claims yoga classes that are part of the district's physical education curriculum are religious and seeks to have the classes suspended. The U-T outed the parents as Stephen and Jennifer Sedlock. Jennifer Sedlock appears to be a professional speaker and life-coachy kinda thing.
A group of parents began protesting the classes in October and began an online petition against the classes. By the end of the year, the petition had about 260 signatures, while a petition to protect the classes had about 2,700 signatures.
The district has maintained throughout the controversy that the classes have no religious content.
"Gratefulness changes us and others. Be grateful for everything big and small." Except for that devil's dance, YOGA!
If there's an upside to this nonsense, maybe the lawsuit will distract Superintendent Tim Baird and his lawyers from their attempt to asset-strip the community of Pacific View.
I am soooo Grateful to be grateful that I am going to sew the crap out of anyone who supports teaching yoga to anyone.
ReplyDeleteDie yoga tweekers, Die!!!!!
Did I tell you that I'm grateful to be gratetful to be a yoga hater grateful?!
Grateful Jen
How very sad that a Christian woman has so much hatred. I am very happy I am not her. Jesus taught love and forgiveness. You seem to have attached yourself to the Old Testament, hell, fire, and brimstone. Have you forgotten that the New Testament is the Christian part? I will pray for your soul.
DeleteWatch out surf PE. They're comming for you next.
ReplyDeletelol. What about epistemics / general semantics?
DeleteThis is really sad. When my child was in Encinitas Union School District, there WAS no PE except for moms who would come in and try to do their best. The practice of yoga does not have to be linked to the religious aspects of yoga. It is just good exercise!
ReplyDeleteOut kids need physical activity to function their best in the classroom.
It is so wrong that some Christians give Christians a horrible image.
ReplyDeleteIs their faith so very fragile? If their children stretch using yoga, they will all of a sudden ignore the faith their parents have told them is the only true religion?
If they allow two people who love each other and want to marry and were born gay, then their marriage is threatened. If others do not believe in the god that they believe in then they all are going to hell.
Please Christians, do not try to dictate your beliefs on others.
They're not Christians, they're fanatics.
ReplyDeleteThe woman behind the suit just happens to promote her own programs and is the typical fanatic Chrisitian that believes only they have the truth. They think that by doing yoga, the kids will sprout 2 heads and 6 arms and start wailing to Kali! Meanwhile, they believe they will fly off to La La Land in Rapture when Jesus comes to collect them.... who is the nut case here??
ReplyDeleteBlasphemy!! A fatwa on you.
DeleteAlleluia brother! I packed my bags and am outside waiting to be pulled up into the Light. Don't let those crazy heathen elephant loving yogis get me - they might make me vegetarian!
DeleteYou know how fragile those Christians are. One dead decorated pine tree in their living room each year and they're off worshiping forest trolls.
ReplyDeleteAnd you also.
DeleteYoga is religious? That's the first I've heard of that! Yes you "Christians" out there.continue with your hatred and violence and intolerance. That's what Jesus Christ taught, to hate others to not accept others and to kill. What Bible are you reading?
