The current city council has continued prior councils' practice of not providing written summary minutes of council discussion, but only "action minutes" which state the outcomes. Encinitas Undercover will provide a forum for observers to record what occurs at each council meeting.
Please use the comments to record your observations.
Say you have free time in life.
ReplyDeleteDo you:
Live life to the fullest?
Or
Go to city council meetings and blog about it?
Sadly, representative democracy doesn't work when no one is paying attention.
DeleteThanks to those who do.
Thank you for your appreciation, 6:57.
Delete6:03, let me ask: do you: live life to the fullest? Or tear down those who try to make things better and think you're blogging? Sounds like you're the one with the free time.
Judging by the tone of your website. Your "better" is what the majority would call "hell".
DeleteMoney always wins.
À) not my website, haven't even seen it
DeleteB) prop A won over a whole lot of money. The truth always outs, you know.
The first includes the second.
ReplyDeleteNow the discussion is a budget for public art. Only $100,000 for a beginning.
ReplyDeleteFix the streets.
Do you want your tax dollars to pay $100,000s for the art commission's view of the necessity of public art? Encinitas will look like the San Diego port authority public art. The $3 million lifeguard marine safety facility, the new name for the lifeguard tower will have public art. What do you want to see on the building? Giant seashells crafted from recycled trash. Or modernist metal entwining a giant seahorse. Or a free standing cast of the Titanic. No one goes to the beach to see the ocean.
ReplyDeleteCity Council is out of Control. Fix our roads and reduce staff costs including firing the $150k Art Director.
ReplyDeleteFinger painting refined to a bureaucratic pork barrel job - amazing!
DeleteSanta Fe drive...ONE year under construction, still no underground lines and NO ONE working on a perfect day to work. City council and staff are miserable FAILURES!!!!
ReplyDeleteReduce staff costs. Fire 10% of staff. Encinitas is staff heavy.
ReplyDeleteONLY 10%???? Are you nutts?? FIRE 50% of the staff, they sit around all day doing NOTHING!!! They can't even fix the roads!!!
DeleteAdministrative staff needs to be culled. The City Manager is supposed to do a lot of these assignments.
DeleteCity of Encinitas - fiscally morphing into Bell, Sacramento and San Bernardino.
ReplyDeleteAnd physically morphing into OC.
DeleteIf I have learned anything from this thread it's this:
ReplyDeleteMore puctuation marks indicate importance!!!!!!!!!!!??()$&'*•??!,{}\£+___•¥€==#;/@&&&&""!!!!!!!
