St. Archer tasting room to open next to Surfy Surfy

Times of San Diego:
San Diego craft brewery Saint Archer Brewing Co. will open its second tasting room in a 1930s-era building in the Leucadia community of Encinitas.

The new 1,200-square-foot tasting room will feature 30 taps offering core beer selections and specialty brews from the the main brewery in Miramar.

Saint Archer said that with Leucadia’s ties to surf culture, the beach community is a natural fit for the new facility.

The tasting room will open in mid May in a building originally occupied by Roy’s Market at 978 North Coast Highway 101.
How are they opening in mid-May if Modern Times has been trying for a year and a half and still isn't open?

  1. Due to the proliferation of drinking only establishments in downtown Encinitas, Modern Times saw the handwriting on the wall (and opposition from the Sheriff's Dept.) and changed their plans from a tasting room to a full service restaurant, thus the delay.

  3. How are we letting MillerCoors open a tasting room in this town over one of the many independent craft breweries that exist in the County?

    1. Are Encinitas storefronts by invitation only?

    2. You missed the point. Or don't enjoy craft beer. Or just didn't read the article.

The city has a large investment fund. Does the city council approve city investments in foreign beer companies?

  6. Because there are less of the cliche, "alcohol's the work of satan", freaks in Leucadia than downtown Encinitas.

No true at all. Promoting the McDonalds of the beer industry to build Encinitas more like Pacific Beach is note going over well.

This coupled with Tony selling out old Leucadia for his new freinds on Quail Gardens and letting Encinitas Ranch get a free hall pass on the housing element is not sitting well with Leucadia. City Council is approving the wrong type of Major Use Permits. They need to send a strong signal to the commercial owners, WE DONT WANT MORE BARS AND SMOKESHOPS. We don't like HB or PB.

Bad for upzoning, bad for turning Encinitas into Huntington Beach, and bad at getting any good projects done at City Hall. I think Tony is not liked and will go down this next election. I just hope we have another candidate.

Tony is promoting 3 stories in Old Leucadia along the Hwy101 and is fine saying no to 3 stories on Quail Gardens for the ER jackasses like Shaeffer.
