City crews were out today clearing the junk from a homeless encampment along the new Cardiff Rail Trail.

  1. The Mayor and council issued a resolution that they were a welcoming town. More lawsuits. Blakespear, get out the mattresses for your homeless guests and invite them into your house. When will the Mayor cut the ribbon at the door of her house.

    1. To be fair, the welcoming resolution was about refugees and immigrants, not homeless.

But it was always cynical, empty virtue-signaling as refugees don't get sent to high-rent cities, and even Encinitas' traditional illegal immigrant neighborhoods are being gentrified.

    2. So Encinitas welcomes refugees and illegals ( with no where to house them ) but American citizens ( abet alchies and junkies ) are to be run out of town....Nearly 3000 attorneys in this town and not one will lift a finger to help. Blakespear you are a complete failure. Fix the roads and call CalTrans before you leave. PS- take your scissors with you when you go.

    3. Anyone that welcomes illegals hates their own country. Insanity best describes it. That's tax payer money being spent you America hating leftists as the illegals can't be working at a job.....that requires a Social Security number and illegals don't have one unless stolen. So they are living on air for dinner? If anyone hires an illegal they are as dumb as a shrub. Gawd I hate the left.....
      They hate America

  2. i agree. Put a welcome sign and a fucking porto potie right on the entrance to Blakespears block. Lets see what her neighbors think of her.

What a bitch. Fucking harnesses homeless in town and pulls all this warm and fuzzy shit and then will not let them camp on her block. Two faced bitch. plain and simple.

Once this City Council gets booted. Its time to remove those porto potties around town. Homeless are not welcome in my neighbhood, but the should be sent to blakespears and the other HOs.

  3. Politicians always want to spend your money, not theirs. Do as I say, not as I do. Lets get two classes of people you and us. If you are a Democrat you had better read up on Saul Alinskey's 8 tenets for a better world. If you agree with this Democratic Party you should just move to a country that is more "developed" than ours. You would be happier. Try Cuba, Venezuela, China, to name a few.

  4. Alas, that's the end of the last affordable housing in Encinitas.

  5. Blakespear and her cronies are kicking around the idea of putting the homeless in Pacific View. At least then we can get something out of the 10 million dollars we paid for that site.

    3. If these leftists move bums into "our ten million dollar boondoggle then suing the City of Encinitas is the only resolve. A forced sale of said property needs to be court ordered. It can be done.

    4. Is the school (our) property being paid for monthly? Was it paid for in cash? It generates "NO INTEREST" on monies paid. It should be sold. It has been sitting for years, unused other than some finger painting classes. That money could be making interest and least we not forget the property taxes.......at one percent on 10 mil is ......
$100,000.00 A YEAR....who pays that??? The tax payer.
Sue these creeps and make them sell the property.

    7. An ellipsis is three periods indicating an interrupted thought, or missing words from a direct quote. They can be separated by spaces (Chicago), or not (AP style guide).

      It’s this: . . .

      Not this: .............

This ............. is just a moron who forgot to take his finger off the period button.

    8. Notice these two, 3:01 and 3:37 are so busy attacking the person that wrote the truth about the 10 million dollar hoax and property taxes, they are trying to deflect from the truth.
Nice try not so artful dodgers. It's still a HOAX.
      Finger painting school.

    9. No, 7:18, you are so ignorant you don't recognize your own ignorance.

You have no idea what you're writing or talking about.

Your strings of dots are a visual tip-off. If people get past them and read what you write, they have solid proof you're a moron.

    10. 2:11 - there's no truth here - 2:14 has no clue what they're talking about......(see, dots!)....Pacific View is not subject to property taxes. Check it out for yourself - APN 258-151-22-00.

  6. Make the property our first high rise in the new green deal. We can collect a ton of money from the builders and tenants. Or perhaps a parking garage for the electric vehicles of the future. How about a school.? oops, I forgot that what it was before the city bought it and turned it into a run down mess.

  7. Excellent paragraph re: Streetscape from the Coast News:

“Opponents of the project, however, did not fare well at the ballot box as incumbent Mark Muir and council and mayoral challengers Tony Brandenburg and John Paul Elliott — who all campaigned against the project — lost their respective races.”

    Spot on.

    1. Completely unrelated. Who does Burgin work for - the city or the Coast News? Is there a difference nowadays??

    2. Mind boggling that anybody — let alone a journalist — would think there was a connection between not supporting Streetscape and losing in the 2016 election.

    3. So you’re arguing that election results have nothing to do with the positions candidates take?

      Interesting.

Your view is way, way, way too simplistic. For your and your loved ones' sake, I hope you are gainfully and securely employed in something that doesn't require reasoning.
