Blakespear fears violence from her Encinitas constituents

Voice of San Diego:

Neither Encinitas Mayor Catherine Blakespear nor any of the four Council members who voted in favor of the Safe Parking Program in November attended the forum, nor did anyone from Jewish Family Service. Blakespear told VOSD in an email she was advised by the sheriff not to go to a different community meeting Tuesday about the safe parking lot for her own safety.
Even at the height of "Dump Stocks" anger, I don't remember Jerome Stocks ever hiding from the public.

  1. The Sheriff advised her not to go due to safety concerns, most likely due to credible threats. Stocks never had to miss events, because the Sheriff never told him about credible threats. I wonder why someone would make threats against Blakespear, but not Stocks? What is the difference?

Could it be yet another example of a right-wing nut threatening violence when they don't like something?

According to the FBI, every terrorist attack in the US last year were done by angry, right-wing males:

    1. The Dar-ul-Arqam mosque in Escondido was burned by an arsonist.

    2. Poway synagogue shooting

    3. 2019 El Paso shooting

    4. 2019 Jersey City shooting

    5. Monsey Hanukkah stabbing

Do you work for Levin, Schiff, Waters, Swalwell? If not, you should apply for a job with those conspiracy theorists... You would fit right in.

Absolutely NO ONE lies and promotes conspiracy theories like the frauds named above.

      Congrats.

    5. Muller and whistleblower is coming...

You can say all you want with your faux bravado and chestpuffing nonsense but Trump has a higher approval rating than he did before the 1st 43,878 hoaxes and will have an even higher approval rating after the next 50,000 hoaxes.

      Just take the L man!

  2. Kranz will introduce a measure to legalize sleeping in cars in Encinitas, ahead or contingent to the Leichtag homeless parking lot proposal. He has been bought - another Dalager-type.

  3. The Mayor and entire City Council need to be turned over in the next election. Their allegiance to special interests has become too comfortable for them.

  4. The problem is online venues like Nextdoor, Facebook, and this one.

I worked directly with a high level executive who sometimes received angry complaint emails from corporate clients threatening lawsuits and worse. Staff would tell him it’s an urgent situation that requires an emergency call today. He wouldn’t do it. Instead he told staff to let the client know he’d go there in person the following week. In the interim, he’d get all of the information about the client situation, and possible remedies from people who knew the client best.

When he showed up in person, he would never mention the threatening email, and neither would the client. They’d have a productive meeting, and always come to an agreement on what should happen.

I asked him about the strategy and he said people’s willingness to use extreme language is proportional to the degree of human connection. They will say things in email or online that they would not say in a phone call, and they will say things in a phone call that they wouldn’t in a face to face meeting.

But I think this is being eroded. With constant and repetitive exposure and feedback, the hyperbolic extremism of the online world becomes reinforced to the point where people convince themselves that it’s the real world.

The sensible barrier between anonymous online spleen-venting, and real world human interaction is breaking down, and it’s bad for humanity.

    1. You've come to the conclusion that people will be assholes online if they are anonymous - wow, aren't you a fucking genius.

  6. I may buy a van so that I can move onto the street in front of Blakespear's house. I'm sure she will approve of that.

No one likes strangers sleeping or keeping house on the street in front of their homes. What is wrong with these people? If the city wants to run an RV Park, then they should, on the city hall parking lot.

  7. Why don't we move all the homeless into Pacific View? We paid big $$$ for it and it isn't being used for anything else

    1. The Ecology group has been pushed out of Pacific View. If I were to guess, the city will eventually sell it for development when the 10 year retention period ends.

And, we the tax payers are "paying" for it along with interest. As your mayor, I'll list the property so fast it will be in the dust bin of dumb ideas.

  9. The city council meetings always have a couple deputies in attendance. It seems like a benign environment, except for verbal frays.

  10. 4. 2019 Jersey City shooting. Shooting done by two Black American Israelites who despise Jews.

    5. Monsey Hanukkah stabbing. Machete attack done by Black American who despises Jews.

The Jews have a problem with Black Americans but the problem isn't as bad as the Crown Heights riots back in 1991.

  12. I don't buy much of what the Voice of San Diego says anymore, they are funded by developers now and have lost journalistic integrity in my opinion. I don't believe Blakespear either and i'm an angry democrat.

  13. The Leichtag proposal will be passed by the City Council. The fix is in and the residents' opinions are of no value or relevance to them. This is how government now "works" - it goes to the highest bidder.
