The Encinitas Guerrilla retires.
The identity of the Guerilla remains a mystery. Clearly a long-time resident with deep knowledge of and love for Encinitas' community, culture and history; perhaps a Leucadian, the Encinitas Guerrilla's wit and wisdom will be missed.
Have loved the Guerrilla, what a wit! Perhaps he or she will be moved on occasion to drop in with the odd commentary.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance!
ReplyDeleteHaha 8:40, too much light shed on the cockroaches for you to handle? EG understood and expressed things at a level of detail that must have made a lot of the right people very uncomfortable. Clearly you're among that group, you must be very relieved.
DeleteEG was so effective that all his candidates lost, and he quit.
DeleteOnly a dumb MAGA would continue bragging and declaring victory.
What about the TRAINS!
DeleteYou and slow polluting train are both outdated. Go back to your shitty world
Delete9:51 Uh, EG listed six candidates. Three of them won. EG batted .500 = not bad.
DeleteOne of EG's best was Teresa Barth and her crush city manager Gus Vina photoshopped in the front seat driving a yellow school bus off a cliff. Was in response to the council finding out that the $10M Pacific View School could not legally be used for everything Barth and Kranz were promising. Vina forgot to tell the council and they forgot to ask. Joke's on taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteEG is great. Dalakranz and the deadly, slow, polluting, coastal access blocking Coaster sucks!!!
ReplyDeleteWC turned over Admin. of this sight years ago. I know WC.
ReplyDeleteThe new blog is where it is at. Welcome to Encinitas Unhinged!
https://encinitasunhinged.blogspot.com/
You dumb asses are not welcome.
No one is going to your bogus site. When WC wants to change things up, he/she will let us know. Your idiotically named blog reeks of the second-lowest vote getter's idea of being clever.
DeleteI’m stoked you are not gonna be on it
DeleteYou are slow, aren’t you
ReplyDeleteWC turned over Admin. of this site years ago. I know WC.
You are a liar aren't you
DeleteNope.
DeleteAccording to the Blogger profile for WC, this blog is still managed by him.

Anyone can make a blogspot look like someone else. Troller be gone.
DeleteOkay. Show us how.
DeleteCreate a profile, then make your profile show this blog as one you own. And have the live link direct here.
Am not 12:08 but clearly the point is that's a stupid copycat site that has nothing to do with WC. Now go find something productive to do with your day.
DeleteWell I hope this blog stays up that way all the history won’t go down. but this admin on this one sucks.

ReplyDeleteSelf-Presumed Mayor Jeff Morris Wants to Cut a Deal With Trump
From: Jeff Morris
Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2022, 11:03 AM
To: Donald Trump
Subject: Potential Common Ground
Good Morning Former President,
I know you don’t read anything longer than a tweet, so I’ll keep this short.
You and I have a lot in common:
• We both lead a cult.
• We both know that “Only I can fix it.” You the country, me Encinitas.
• We both had or have New York hags as scammer candidate opponents.
• We both lost or will lose an election, proving the system is rigged.
• We both are frauds. I propose that neither of us rats on the other.
Sincerely,
Jeff Morris
All humans that live in Encintas that voted for the failure of all failures shall be placed in a solitary confinement cell preferably deep in Turkey. Yes, that is 6-7 out of ten of you covid ridden termites.
ReplyDeleteSo let it be written.
So let it be done.
I agree!!! You’re talking about Dalakranz right?
DeleteDalakranz so I got 40% of the vote.
Delete47%.
DeleteMore than Ehlers.
^Gruesome Newsom ding dong dog faced pony pecker
ReplyDeleteOh that’s what that’s referring to ✅
DeleteWas it true that former city manager was a junkie? He use to wander down to the ally by 7-11 during his breaks, was that really to score a fix? Why was he let go? Encinitas has hired some real winners.
ReplyDeleteThe last one was a disaster. This current one is a funky mess. She’s a super strange bird.
DeleteYou’re definitely a weird one.
ReplyDeleteI like the copycat say Encinitas an inch. At least administrators more current an active so we don’t have to over 200 post.
ReplyDeleteThis current administrator is lazier than shit.
* I like the copycat site Encinitas Unhinged. At least administrators more current and active so we don’t have to over 200 post and have to push load more all the time.
ReplyDeleteThis current administrator is lazier than shit.
Then there was this spot on gem from the EG archive:
ReplyDelete“Jeff Morris
In the history of Encinitas mayoral elections, Morris is the most insistent delusional candidate. In the highly unlikely event he wins, we can look forward to two years of embarrassments. His behavior would draw local, regional and maybe even national negative attention.
If Morris loses, he can continue to harass homeless people, gather phantom evidence of corruption in city government and post rants on local social media. He would hope that real estate remains a viable occupation for his spouse.”
So how is business??

ReplyDeletePacific View McMansions denied: a tale of dual fiscal mismanagements
Surprise.
That was my reaction to the 4-0 city council decision to deny EUSD's request to re-zone Pacific View Elementary for McMansions.
Surprise that Dan Dalager would recuse himself over a financial interest conflict.
Surprise that Stocks and Bond finally found a development they didn't like.
The city council has painted itself into a corner with massive pension liabilities so that they need the new tax base that new development brings. That was Dalager's plan all along: make his city worker buddies rich with outrageous pensions, and then pay for it by letting his devloper buddies develop everything in sight.
The EUSD, for its part, was trying to follow the Schwarzenegger death spiral plan of selling assets to fund operating budgets. This just after persuading voters to take on 30 years of debt to fund a few years' worth of technology.
Have we turned a new page? Will we get more reasonable development and real pension reform? Much hinges on the unknown new council member Kristin Gaspar. Kristin, are you with us or are you against us?

ReplyDeleteJane Twining-Blair gets cease and desist notice for illegal contributions to Kristin Gaspar campaign
Who is Jane Blair and why is she spending so much to buy the city council?
Jane Twining Blair Letter-1
Meanwhile, developer DCM Properties dumps another $6,000 into the sleazy mailer firm. Though Jane Blair's motives remain a mystery, we know who DCM are and what they want. Spend a few thousand to buy the city council, get development permits worth hundreds of thousands or millions. This, my friends, is a textbook example of small-town corruption.
Kudos to the U-T's excellent reporter Jonathan Horn for uncovering the corruption. I hope the voters are reading.
Gaspar's ascension to Supervisor was one term. Now she is politically extinct.

November 10th 2010 - the city council ($tock$, Bond and Dalager) vote to rezone the Pacific View School site in order to deliver it to their developer friends. Gone forever will be the last public parcel ajoining the coast that could remain in the public use if the kabal of 3 weren't so corrupt. Voice your opposition prior to the meeting, as comments received thereafter are ignored. (Comments will be ignored anyway, I suppose)

Local politics
The City Council delayed a vote on raising City Manager Phil Cotton's annual compensation 11% to $242,640.
Debate over the new Whole Foods, city planning, and overpaid city workers in the comments at Leucadia Blog. I'm generally against big new developments in historic districts, but this Whole Foods isn't offending me as much as I thought it would.
And the deadline approaches for mailing in a protest of the water rate increase, which would jack up water rates by 14% immediately and another 13% in January and leave western Encinitas residents paying much higher water rates than our neighbors in Olivenhain or Carlsbad.
Posted by W.C. Varones at 5:47 AM
Unfortunately, it takes a majority of rate payers to protest price increases. The majority don't even read the invoice insert that notifies them of the rate increase and protest options. It rate increase gets thru 100% of the time.
DeleteSo, Encinitas Undercover, what's the truth about Encinitas Unhinged?
ReplyDeletegood question.
DeleteFriday, October 29, 2010 when the Leucadia blog stopped was a sad day. JP did an excellent job as the OG blogmaster.
W.C. Varones - please post and tell us the scoop?

ReplyDeleteDCM = David Meyer, the one who threatens legal action against concerned Clark St residents. Personal friends with Kranz, Meyer enjoys rubber stamp Yes votes from city staff and the sitting council.
Lucky us, thanks to Julie and Garvin talking ego boy Jeff into running, the small town corruption continues with sellout Tony taking the helm.
DeleteJulie’s plans to make sure Cindy wasn’t elected worked perfectly until it backfired and she lost D3.
You do know Julie that Kranz was jerking you along from the start. You’re not the only one who can play both sides against the middle.
Sadly Kranz won and Encinitas lost. In your case Julie, you got the karma you deserved for selling us out.
Please go back to your griping and whining on Watchdogs. Your political career is toast.
Yes we all know. What a lost opportunity to kick local boy Kranz to the curb. Too bad people didn’t realize that “local” meant loyal to friends and entrenched, self interested representation over the common good.
Delete9:05. Sell outs. All of them. 😡
DeleteKranz was approached early on by the "powers that be" and sold out immediately. He dragged along the coat tails of Blakespear, another sell out. The City Stooges bend over backwards to accommodate the developers' financial ventures, at the expense of Encinitas neighborhood integrity.
DeleteSome have said it takes a village.
ReplyDeleteAround here, it takes a united front which sadly we have never had the correct candidates standing together and seeing that as a way forward to victory for a new council majority.
Right on, 11:42.
DeleteA primary would have been helpful to mitigate the damage that the morons brought forward. Maybe next time. I would not take that bet.
ReplyDeleteIt has only been one week, but I miss our Guerrilla already. It was always spot on and never missed a beat.
ReplyDeleteSo agree! A bright spot on a Monday….
DeleteMarco Gonzales can take over as the Encinitas Primate!
DeleteMargo haha. Thank the Guerilla for that funny take off on our favorite mouthpiece years ago. Good to see it has stuck around to this day. I bet even he has some appreciation for being made fun of.
