Brink told CBS 8 his son was born in San Diego in 2000, at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women. The couple lived in Cardiff by the Sea at the time, but soon separated about a year later and got divorced.
He said his ex-wife, the daughter of California State Assemblyman Randy Voepel, and his son moved to Colorado around 2012.
Online records show the family lived in the big apartment building on Carol View Drive south of Birmingham and just west of the freeway.

ReplyDeleteWe know, buddy. We know.
So with all the concern about global warming and green house gases, why are tax payers paying $140 per rider for a very low ridership Coaster that burns millions of gallons of diesel per year?
ReplyDeleteThe California Air Resources Board has laid out an ambitious plan to eventually force all diesel truck fleets off the road, with varying timelines. This includes mandating that all new trucks operating around busy railways and ports be zero-emission vehicles by 2024; phasing out all diesel trucks from those areas by 2035; and eventually taking every diesel truck and bus fleet off California roads by 2045, where feasible.
When is the Coaster going electric and why does the California Air Resources Board allow this pollution?

There is a better way.
Apparently, you know nothing about the electric scam.
DeleteLet me educate you and, I'll put it in simple terms even you can understand.
"there isn't enough electric generation on the planet to charge batteries in all the bee ess warmer world"
It's a joke, a scam and impossible to work.
But the warmers live in pretend world.
Go back to last summer. The lack of power caused the State of California to put out a warming NOT TO CHARGE YOUR ELECTRIC CARS".
Wake up.
No diesel trucks....Yaaaa' right. Good luck with that.
DeleteHow do you think food gets to the store?????
What clown act the state of california is.
I know, lets have electric airplanes. And because they are closer to the sun when in flight, their batteries could charge faster. Let's do that. And next, electric rockets for moon launches. Next, military tanks and troop carriers.
DeleteThe problem with the horseless carriage is that it’s expensive, unreliable, and we cant make enough fuel. And how are we going to distribute that fuel? On trucks that burn more fuel.
DeleteIt’s silly.
The horse was good enough for the Romans. It was good enough for every economy, every empire, every military for two thousand years.

DeleteSo how are you feeling about Tony’s past efforts resulting in wide scale mental health declines in Encinitas?
ReplyDeleteI think it’s horrible. His policies which he led are actively causing people to get much less sleep in Encinitas and not exercising nearly as much.
Tony’’s fence is known for many to have ruined their daily walks to the beach area.
While Kranz was North County Transit District (NCTD) board member for ten years including chair for several years, Encinitas made zero progress towards a quiet zone while Kranz led the board at NCTD to install fencing all along the Encinitas rail road ending paths have been in place for hundreds if not thousands of years. These pathways date back to and some were likely established by the Ipai and the Kumeyaay people to walk to the beach. Now many Leucaidians can no longer walk a few hundred yards to local fresh produce at Just Peachy and other stores and must drive miles to get to the stores and their local beach.
Leucadians cross the tracks to visit the nearby beaches, bars, restaurants, plant shops and yoga studios, an area often described as “funky.” “My husband and I live in Leucadia and want to express our surprise and sorrow at the proposal to build a fence,” wrote Kristin Bisely in a Nov. 18 letter to the transit district board.
https://www.delmartimes.net/news/story/2020-11-22/leucadians-oppose-plan-to-fence-off-railroad-tracks
Instead of installing a nice rail trail like in Cardiff, Tony supported led the City to install parking lot which currently serves as a parking for the private apartment owners across street (using public property for private use), contractor storage yards, boat and trailer storage yard, and other black market uses. This action made conditions on Vulcan Avenue even more unsafe.
https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/communities/north-county/sd-no-encinitas-parking-deal-20190117-story.html
Tonys support of increased deadly coaster service is documented as well. Such a shame less than half of you supported this fool. And now we pay for your mistake with the further destruction of Encinitas. Shame on all you people who made the 47% in support of Kranz happen. We know who you are, and you will not be forgiven.
Look at Tony’s contributions on the cities webpage if you want to see all of the losers who cause this destruction.
Let’s focus on the meddlers who got Stan to run. That’s what got us where we are today.

Tony Kranz is causing large scale destruction of public health.
This, along with his other inept actions, is very serious.
Well above the majority specifically 53% of the voters voted against Tony Kranz. Now it’s time for us to recall the town dunce.
ReplyDeleteThis clearly shows we need a citizens initiative to hold a runoff on our elected positions when a majority is not realized by winning candidate .
Let’s get citizens initiatives, going for both to recall and the new runoff requirements .
Good luck.

DeleteAnd let's not forget about Tony's biggest accomplishment to increase the train blast in
ReplyDeleteEncinitas
Kranz led the NCTD board to increase train noise and pollution by 30% while ridership tanked and the cost for Coaster trips are subsidized by the public tax payers at $140 a ride (Exhibit IV-10:

ReplyDeleteWhat’s wrong with Encinitas? Simple, everyone west of I-5 is sleep deprived do to the trains incessant honking. New council pick better go to special election or you will see blowback.
ReplyDeleteThe train honks its horn in Encinitas coz of Cindy. It's all Cindy's fault. She could tell the train to stop honking but she doesn't. If the train didn't honk in town I wouldn't have tied her in the election.
ReplyDelete2:48- you are an idiot.
ReplyDeleteAs the facts show, kranz voted in support of increasing train blasts 30% as ridership continued to tank.
It’s satire, 4:10. You’d have to have been paying attention to the mayoral candidates to get it.
DeleteI moved from out of town to a house near the freeway. The cars and trucks on the freeway make a lot of noise. That noise disturbs my life and especially my sleep. The pollutants the cars and trucks emit have a negative effect on my and my family's health. Therefore, I demand that the federal, state and county governments either close the freeway or stop the noise and emission of pollutants.
ReplyDeleteI moved to Neptune. The sound of crashing waves is interfering with my sleep and general health.

ReplyDeleteTrains went from about 10 trains per day to about 60 per day with the coaster program with no mitigation.
Considering the negatives far out way the positives, we should all just love trains, and embrace the cancer causing trains.
The coaster has all negatives and No positives…. Why pump cancer causing pollutants in our children daily?
ReplyDeleteYou are a fatal idiot 7:09/7:44….. nothing similar.

The tracks and trains have been here since the 1880s. Regardless of what the train nut says, posts and does, the tracks and trains are not going away. They're the only rail link with the rest of the country.
ReplyDelete1:47- idiot, with no common sense.
ReplyDeleteTransit lines that are not performing well are abandon all the time throughout the country. There’s probably more abandon train lines, and there are train lines in the works.
The reason is there, old polluting technology, and as far as commuter traffic goes they are much too slow to be effective. And that’s why so many railroad lines are defunct, and the right of way is used for much better uses.
You can’t say commuter, diesel, burning, old, technology, train line is good for reduction in greenhouse gases. There are much better solutions using EV.
The port of San Diego would like a word.
DeleteAlso, you are proposing to shut down the only freight rail line serving the home port of the Pacific Fleet while US doctrine is trying to pivot resources to address the threat landscape in Asia.
What could possibly go wrong?
But my nap!
2:36 You are the idiot with no common sense. Name one place that's shutting down its only rail link with the rest of the country.
DeleteOhhh so it’s a military RR. So how many military trains are on the tracks per year.
DeleteSo it’s not effective for the commuters but it’s for military…. I get hit now.
So the feds can pay for everything. End the Coaster and that will greatly reduce the cancer causing air pollution and noise pollution being inhaled by our children and keeping them from sleeping.
I hope you had a good nap. You must live inland a few miles. Lucky.
“ If the U.S. military gets more involved in the Asia-Pacific region in the years ahead, you can expect more military freight trains to and from San Diego. As a historical reference, the Surf Line through Dana Point saw an average of more than 40 freight trains per day during World War II, or about ten times the current number.”

The Highlight is it gets the surrounding communities sick.
That awesome. Thx for sharing!!
5:48, you haven't named one other place that's cutting off its only rail link with the rest of the country.
DeleteEverybody understands the rants you've posted countless times. There's no need to repeat.
But the tracks and the rail traffic are not going away. Thirty thousand carloads of freight per year. That and the current and potential military needs guarantee the rails will remain.
Are you the Kranz recall guy? How's that going?
7:26pm - Says the little man paid by the rail road works union.
DeleteSo in addition to the cancer that the spent deisel fumes spewing Coaster spreading throughout our community and blowing on the adjacent school kids daily, the coster is wasting millions of tax dollar's costing approximately $140 a rider in substities.
DeleteNot only is is spreading cancer and wasting precious tax dollars, its frying everyone's brain through sleep depervation. Research has proven that keeping your brain active is one of the primary activities that can forestall the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia disorders. ReplyDeleteCoaster, Amtrak and freight trains won't stop running on the tracks parallel to 101, so you might as well stop ranting about them. Since the trains bother you so much, why don't you move away from them?
DeleteMove away?
DeleteI don’t live near the tracks idiot.
The Coaster and Amtrak in this low low ridership alignment will end. It is just too large of a waste of tax $$$ for it to continue….
$140 per rider subsidy is criminal. Some folks should go to jail.
If you don't live near the tracks, how can you claim you're losing sleep and being polluted by the trains?
Delete9:24- I already said I don’t live near the tracks you idiot.
ReplyDeleteThere are thousands of people that live near the coast and then thousands more that visit daily. These thousands and thousands of people have to enter the pollution from the coaster including the spent diesel fumes and dustballs that pollute thousands of innocent lungs daily.
My issue is the huge waste of tax dollars. Millions and millions of tax dollars being spent on a dysfunctional and harmful Coaster service. Why should the taxpayers continue to pay for this completely harmful service and waste millions and millions of dollars.
I think you should consider a new career considering the Coaster service will be going away. You are going to have to find a new source of income and hopefully your news source of income isn’t so damaging to public health.
The freeway traffic emits far more pollutants than the trains. Earlier, you claimed pollution and sleep deprivation were your issues. Now it's subsidization. Passenger volume on the Coaster dropped when the pandemic hit. It will come back. The Coaster is not going away, nor is the Sprinter. You're the idiot who's not looking at reality. Plus, I don't work for NCTD.
DeleteYou appear to be focused on the Coaster service trains. What about the all freight trains that go by more at nighttime with their very long and very slow moving freight cars? There are more of those freight cars on the tracks every day than the Coaster service trains. Which type of train do you think spews more exhaust fumes in our town when the wind has usually died down and the prevailing winds are not able to distribute the exhaust fumes? Just asking dr. demento.
ReplyDelete4:52- Coasters by a million gallons of cancer-causing diesel per year…
ReplyDeleteThere are 30 diesel spewing Coaster trains going by every day right next to schools. there are only one or two freight trains at most.
I like how you resort to name-calling. It shows you’re a simpleton and don’t know your facts.
30,000 carloads of freight per year. That's more than one or two freight trains per day. Go talk to Burlington Northern Santa Fe.
DeleteAbove you called a poster an idiot. Immediately above, you called a poster a simpleton in the same paragraph you accused him/her of name calling.
Your stupidity is showing bigtime.
6:20pm. Thanks for calling a spade a spade in regards to the imagined know it all who has a problem with his imagined facts.
ReplyDeleteYes, we all would love for the tracks to get moved inland and heal the division of our community in more ways than the physical tracks themselves do. Lowering would help, but over the decades no council has ever seriously pursued lowering the tracks while Solana Beach did when it cost a fraction of what it would now. Carlsbad is going ahead with their plans to lower the tracks. Encinotas is more like it. Now, that is something we all can get behind. Miracles can happen after all.
30,000 car loads of freight is nothing barely registers considering the total cargo transported throughout San Diego county.
ReplyDeleteRail freight volume is miniscule, accounting for only 0.5% of total freight volume in San Diego County. The other 99%+ of freight occurs on the highways.
Your BS is completely unbelievable. Read some facts here.
https://coaster-rail-to-trail.org/
The San Diego Coaster train is at a major crossroads due to the requirement that the train be moved off a 2 mile stretch of track on the Del Mar bluffs that are unstable due to accelerating cliff erosion. The proposed rerouting of the train via a tunnel under Del Mar is a massive multibillion dollar risk that is unwarranted given the train's small ridership and the disruptive transportation technologies that are set to make the train even more obsolete in the near future.
Even before the pandemic, Coaster ridership numbers were very low and in multi-year decline, with many trains running nearly empty.
The coronavirus crisis caused rider volumes to plunge an additional 90%+, making for an even more dire financial and future outlook.
Rail freight volume is miniscule, accounting for only 0.5% of total freight volume in San Diego County. The other 99%+ of freight occurs on the highways.
The train creates serious conflict and many social negatives including accidents, noise, barriers, trenches, and fences that block coastal access and lead to divided cities and poor urban design.
Erosion of the bluffs could cause catastrophic failure. Rerouting the tracks is not practical because it would cost billions and create serious environmental problems.
California's high speed rail project has encountered significant problems, leading to tens of billions in added cost and years to the projected timeline. It's a cautionary tale.
Train guy is a boring OCD Train Wreck!
ReplyDeleteSorry ignoramus. There is way more than just one train guy.
DeleteNo one likes kids getting cancer from diesel fumes. No one likes empty trains wasting millions of dollars that could go towards better uses. No one likes lung cancer.
Hey, train guy. The Coaster, Amtrak and freight trains are here to stay. If they weren't, the state and feds wouldn't be putting millions and billions into maintaining them and tunneling under Del Mar. Get this through your numbskull: The tracks that parallel 101 are the only rail link between San Diego (it's a port and a military center) and the rest of the country. WTFU and stop calling other people stupid and lacking common sense.
ReplyDeleteYour comment was completely shortsighted and shows you lack common sense. Why don’t you open your eyes and look at the statistics regarding the huge pollution issues and the huge negative impacts to the adjacent community and the huge waste of taxpayers dollars on this dysfunctional Coaster service.
DeleteYour comments really scream that you’re a paid lobbyist for union that serves his dysfunctional coaster service.
Spending money on this doonboggle is using precious tax dollars that could be used for other good programs and projects to move oeople that need our help. It’s an equity issue and the coaster program is stripping funds available to help with equity issues.
It’s not like there haven’t been other huge wasteful government programs before.
ReplyDeleteSorry ignoramus. There is way more than just one train guy.
It’s just like when a dirty water sources revealed annd informs the public. It’s just a matter of time till the Coaster and all it’s polluting ways are no more.
No one likes kids getting cancer from diesel fumes. No one likes empty trains wasting millions of dollars that could go towards better uses. No one likes lung cancer. And I think the thousands of people that are experiencing the negative effects of train blasts will finally get a good nights sleep when the coaster is no more.
The train wreck is Hassan Ikhrata
ReplyDeleteSANDAG's failed rail plan that BIA supports along with our town dunce has flown off the rails. Its a train wreck and here is why:
Most urban mass transit wet dreams are centered on "light rail." Building and running choo-choo's (damn the cost, or the usage) sends a tingle up the legs of central planners.
But in America, passenger rail seldom makes sense (if EVER). Most U.S. cities were built around the CAR. The resulting low DENSITY of people makes shoe-horning fixed rail, hugely expensive, seldom-used trains into such cities a horrible waste of money when gauged by the cost per passenger mile.
Arguably it works in NYC. Arguably not. But the density issue makes passenger rail an idiotic choice for 98+% of America's cities.
Again, the key is population DENSITY per square mile:
NYC -- 27,013
Manhattan -- 69,468
Los Angeles -- 8,749
City of San Diego -- 4,020
Buses are also inefficient, but the total cost per passenger mile using trains is 15-30 times more than cost per passenger mile using buses.
And BTW, remember that just about ALL big cities are losing population to the suburbs -- if not to more distant, smaller, livable cities and towns. The big city traffic load will stagnate or reduce over time -- not blossom like the bureaucrats love to claim with their bogus population projections.
Richard Rider from Tribunes article here -

Hassan Ikhrata is a train wreck and on the rails. He's weak in the knees and going down just like the Coaster at $140 tax payer subsidy per rider. Some people should be going to jail.
Stop the Coaster waste and stop the Coaster pollution. Our beaches and taxpayers deserve a much more sustainable solution.
More on the great SANDAG boondoggle that of course our town dunce supports.
ReplyDeleteAll this "planning" is based on a fundamentally false assumption -- that the population of California and San Diego will keep growing as in the past.
The CA population started shrinking BEFORE the pandemic. Since then, our CA population has been dropping even faster, with NO sign that this trend will reverse.
Moreover, the CA age 0-17 state population peaked in 2004! Since then that population number has dropped -- EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
San Diego's population (city and county) has all but stopped growing, and the trend indicates that both will start slowing shrinking in coming year or two.
Check out the comments below the article. They are spot on.
https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/transportation/story/2022-11-27/san-diegos-rail-expansion-survive-gop-election-shake-up
Regardless of what you think, say and post, the Coaster, Amtrak and BNSF freight trains are here to stay. Keep beating your head against the wall. Then you'll no longer be able to annoy EU readers with your senseless posts.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, how's the Kranz recall going?
So funny.
ReplyDeleteI remember when people used to say that smoking was actually relaxing and good for you. And the cigarette companies said that people would always be smoking and it was super popular and good for you.

Congressional Leaders Say They Will Act to Prevent Rail Strike

Train guy: You better get in touch with Congress and Biden right away and tell them how worthless trains are.
Biden likes old fashion slow polluting trains. Go figure. Now that guy is a genius. Hell- He is almost as smart as our town dunce.....
DeleteWay to prove a point Train Guy. You are so stupid you are calling me train guy when in fact I am supporting mother earth. You are train guy.
But here is a bit about the cancer causing diesel your train is spewing spent diesel waste.
However, diesel exhaust from buses produces particulate matter and other pollutants that can cause lung damage and aggravate asthma and other health problems in children. In addition, diesel exhaust exposure has been linked to increased school absences. Moreover, many schools rely on outdated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that may pose health risks to students and teachers. Studies also show that poor air quality inside classrooms hinders student concentration and performance, and can also increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission in schools, which can threaten the in-person learning experience for students. Reducing this pollution will provide better health and educational outcomes — particularly in low-income communities and communities of color that have long faced the highest burdens of pollution and underinvestment.

Poor kids - Kranz votes to spew more spent diesel exhaust on school kids.
6:48 Train Guy “better get in touch with” his inner self, or he’s going to have way worse health problems than anyone can get from a train. The acute level of stress, anger management, and emotional problems he’s exhibiting are sending a fast train coming at him. The root cause of Diseases are typically caused by whatever you are having Dis-Ease with in your life. He’s going to give himself a heart attack over his endless diatribe. I’m not saying people shouldn’t address their concerns, but harping on an anonymous blog about it, is like being on a train to nowhere. Writing to congressman, etc, would be more effective than an anonymous blog that probably has very few readers.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have any idea the amount of people on Encinitas Undercover?
7:31 - hopefully one less if you don't post. Your post is lame. You are a stupid train guy. Those that do not like the train are clean earth people.
Delete7:31 - here is information regarding the diesel exhuarst from the Coaster engines. Poor kids at PEC and Cardiff elementary.

Uh, you posted the same thing twice, and it's about diesel exhaust from buses.

There is far more air pollution emitted by vehicles on the freeway than trains and buses in Encinitas.
Why not rant about that?
9:01pm - there are people in vehicles on the freeways and soon it will all be electric vehicles which is great. What year will the Coaster be all electric and not burning diesel?
DeleteI bet you are one of the ones who drive around in a new huge SUV instead of doing the right thing and driving an EV.
The Coaster and other low ridership diesel burning locomotives are the worse. Millions of gallons of diesel per year burned and for no benefit. No one rides them and for good reason. They are really slow considering all crossings and stops they need to make.
The cancer causing point is only one of many negatives against the Coaster and other low performing trains, air-pollution from dust and heavy metals blown onto the schools, noise pollution, all the congestion to people walking, biking and driving, fencing off the coastline, bisecting our beach town, huge waste of tax dollars, damage to our coastline.....
Rail freight volumes in the county are tiny, only 0.5% of total freight The other 99%+ of freight occurs on the highways. It is frequently stated there is $1 billion of freight transported on rail every year, but there is well over $200 billion transported via truck freight.

Stop the pollution. Stop the waste. Stop the wasteful and polluting diesel train running on our precious beach.
How's the Kranz recall going?
DeleteWe got it the first time many moons ago. Now get yourself some professional help. You obviously need it. Endless repetition is you all over and is an identifiable mental condition that can be helped with therapy.
