Family fun nights at Quail Gardens
So I've missed the first half of this summer's Quail Gardens' Thursday Family Fun Nights. I won't make that mistake again. Bring a blanket and a picnic and the kids.
Decided not to become a member of the SAN DIEGO BOTANIC GARDEN when the board of directors decided to change the name from QUAIL GARDENS.
That entertainment must cost the Garden. How much? If it is included in the price of admission or the membership cost, is the Garden losing money? If so, do they plan to ask the City Council for money?
I'd guess the events cost a few hundred bucks a night, but they probably are responsible for a good number of annual memberships being sold. Without events like this, the plants alone would get boring after a while.
I agree that it's stupid to change the name to San Diego Botanic Gardens. It's a feeble attempt to try to put it on the SD Zoo / SD Wild Animal Park / Sea World circuit for tourists. I'd like to see how much the name change has boosted their single-day admissions year-over-year.
