The fix is in

After a string of public speakers spoke against cronyism and Mark Muir and no one spoke in favor of Muir, Mayor Bond nominated Muir and Kristen Gaspar seconded.

A 3-1 vote for cronyism over the wishes of the public will follow shortly.

I must admit, I held out some hope that Kristen Gaspar would display a little independence and good judgment. Boy, was I wrong. This gang is brazen in their contempt for the public.

  1. Why should Gaspar, Bond and Stocks consider doing anything BUT nominating a crony? As the Leucadia Blog reports, Muir knows where all the skeletons are buried, so that is his reward for being 'loyal' and 'qualified.'

Gaspar actually acts like the illegal campaign contributions and other voter fraud had no impact on her election. These people suck.

They imagine that the reason that they are where they are is not because of bribes that they take, laws that they break, or illegal campaign practices. Maybe if they were victims of these issues instead of experts in participating in them, they would not be so holier than thou.

The election for Tony Kranz, Lisa Shaffer and I say Ian Thompson should start tomorrow morning!!

  2. This new blog style is AWFUL, worse than the changes to the LB.

AS my tennis coach in college said, "never change a winning game, always change a losing game." There was nothing wrong with the old style. Change for the sake change sounds like something the COE would do.

  3. As regards the new blog style, I would prefer a brighter webpage. It's too dark and harder to read with white on black, instead of black on white. It's why books have been printed with black letters on a light background for centuries.

At least it scrolls normally. On my computer the Leucadia Blog won't scroll normally, only slowly. It's the only website I have this problem with.

"If it ain't broken, don't fix it" is good advice.

  4. Thank You!!! Now if you can get JP to return to the old way, life will be easier, at least until the city council get their hands on more of our tax money.

  5. This kabal will do exactly as their handlers want them to do. They realize that the special interest money will be there at election time; they have an undisguised contempt for citizen activists. The city would have been better off having a special election, as we now see the result. More entrenchment of cronies, who have deals with outside interests. And, as for Gaspar, you really didn't think she had an independent brain, did you?
