Support your local brewery

Just five miles out Rancho Santa Fe Road, in a nondescript industrial park, lies Stumblefoot Brewing, a startup with both a fun tasting room and, more importantly, great beer. All the brewing is done on site in a single industrial warehouse unit which serves as the tasting room as well. That will likely change soon as capacity will need to grow to meet well-earned demand. In a region known for good brewing, these guys are up to the competition. They've got solid traditional ales, IPAs, and stouts, but they're also good when getting creative with brews like a black IPA and a chipotle stout.

Check out Stumblefoot at the tasting room Thursday through Sunday. You can also get some of their beers on tap at Encinitas locations like Lumberyard and Blue Ribbon Pizza.

  3. Wait a minute.. you removed the ad touting some web page but you leave up the post touting a beer joint?? A beer joint that doesn't contribute any taxes to Encinitas?? Something fishy.....

  4. Too bad Encinitas doesn't have any breweries. Why is that? Is it because no one has thought of it even though all other North County cities are chock full of them? Or is it that the city makes it unbearably difficult for them to open here? Just askin' . . .

    1. It probably isn't red tape that's keeping breweries out of Encinitas -- there is a winery opening on 101 in Leucadia this month. Additionally, I'm not positive that Encinitas has the most bars of all North County cities, but it's not lacking.

Hopefully a brewery will open here in the near future!

    2. Probably both real estate prices and red tape.

You probably couldn't find an affordable industrial unit in Encinitas, and if you could, they wouldn't permit you to serve the public there.

    3. Maybe if it was a brewery/restaurant like Pizza Port?

    5. Although I happen to disagree with your opinion of Pizza Port (especially the Carlsbad location), that's not the point. I was just wondering if a similar type of business could be viable here in Encinitas. I didn't mean to suggest that PP open another location here -- sorry for being unclear.

  5. Who needs a brewery in a town full of drunks?
