Covering civic issues, news, and the secret life of Encinitas
"Manchester would retain ownership of the company’s Mission Valley property, where he is seeking city permission to build 200 luxury apartments. The U-T would operate under a short-term lease."How long will the U-T stay in its present building? What effect will the sale have on the Encinitas Advocate?
Encinitas Advocate is the local news for Encinitas. Honest, direct, and always striving to maximize our integrity. Just the way we like it. The opposite of RINO sell out $tock$ and Assream
If the Advocate is turning a profit, and the profit is projected to grow, the Tribune Company will continue to publish it. If not, they won't.
Sorry 9:47-you live in a free enterprise/social network where one needs to participate. Hard workers/ smart workers get rewarded. lazy fat asses do not become fat ass rich.not saying there is not abuses. Can you say CLINTON AND BUSH?Any how. Read up and learn. Do not believe everything you read.
11:05Do you have any idea how business and the world work?
Will the combined newspaper be supporting the Raiders or the Chargers?
When the Rams and Raiders were both in LA, the Times supported both teams. I expect it will be the same with the Raiders and Chargers both in LA.
I canceled my subscription to the UT; I won't renew it under new management either.
Sad to see the old tradition of the newspaper go the way of the buggy whip. A lot of good people depend on it. But who needs old printed news in our instant info e-age? I think the LA Times just bought a BLOCKBUSTER full of VHS tape movies.
I'm stoked that I can buy papers from the intersection guys again. Yay Socialism!
6:33, When exactly couldn't you? Was your driver's window stuck shut?
Yes, it was very strange. Every time I approached one f these paperboys, this quote popped into my mind and paralyzed my window-lowering finger:"We are doing what a newspaper ought to do, which is to take positions. We are very consistent — pro-conservative, pro-business, pro-military." - John Lynch, 2013.Luckily, it seems they sold the paper when they realized their propaganda supporting a football stadium next to their hotel complex would fail.Yay Freedom of the Press!
This is GREAT news!! Maybe we will have chance at balanced news for a change.
We miss you. Come back. Our motto: the Union-Tribune. We've sobered up.
