The current city council has continued prior councils' practice of not providing written summary minutes of council discussion, but only "action minutes" which state the outcomes. Encinitas Undercover will provide a forum for observers to record what occurs at each council meeting.

Somebody nudge Muir and wake him up!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the discussion about educating voters on Measure T?
ReplyDeleteThe rail corridor group is going on the train to San Clemente to check their wayside horns, right?
ReplyDeleteThey couldn't possibly driving up there in cars, could they?
6:45pm That agenda item was pulled by council. I believe there is legal precedent involved that prevents council from publicly doing more than what they have already done. I leave that to others who know the law to clarify. They have done enough damage already by supporting this stinker.
ReplyDeleteTheir trying to put a fragrance on this urbanization scam will it not work.
No on Measure T.
No on Measure T - no to Muir, no to Kranz, no to Gaspar, NO to all of them!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they agreed not to pursue the so-called "educational mailings," pushed by Kranz the previous week in his council member initiated agenda item, seconded, then, by Shaffer, for an action item the following week.
ReplyDeleteCouncil apparently came to the realization that more mailings would have been advocacy. Kranz wanted the same thing, to send out "informational materials" re Prop A, at taxpayer expense. Muir nixed that, in the subcommittee meeting, which followed, with him and Kranz as "co-chairs." Kranz already had staff prepare a bunch of material, including bogus "frequently asked questions," made up by staff, not submitted by the public.
This Wednesday, our mayor suggested that Kranz' action item be removed from the agenda. No one objected. Good.
And yes, Vote NO on T.
12:56am Don't count on them to back off for a minute. I believe they still intend to spend another $200,000 of OUR money on a last ditch effort to sway the uninformed into accepting the hosing plan when the ballots ate mailed out.
ReplyDeleteOne way or the other that will become evident when we receive mail in ballots in the next few weeks. Lets hope they reconsider another waste of OUR money on a coopted plan. Never mind. They will. Desperate times ahead for all of them who refuse to defend us against an urbanization scam of a plan.
No on Measure T is our only clear choice.
Not related, but lets have a comment section on the Kaboo riot on Saturday night. The county spent a bunch on the deployment of riot squads to deal with the unruly crowd. The Kaboo organizers should shell out the money that was spent for the crowd control. Sounds like poor planning and bad management on the part of the organizers.
ReplyDeleteOrganizers are putting spin on the riot and downplaying it. The police "redirected" the crowd for their own safety - no mention of the pepper spray and the fights. Next year call it KABOOM and let the animals go nuts.
