It would be interesting to know what prompted this sign outside the D St.
Are we going to see them at the other fine drinking establishments too, or is there something special about D?
Whatever happened to the idiotically-named EHA (Encinitas Hospitality Association)? Guess when the public backed off complaining, the City backed off enforcing.
Where is the needed DAO when it is clearly needed?
The EHA was a lie from the beginning. They promised to our community that they alone would demand proper behavior from the proliferating bar owners influence. Drinks for free!
That Tony K's vote was the deciding factor that this failed, is not forgotten, and shouldn't be. If voting for him could dislodge Mark, it would be preferable by a slim margin.
No on Measure T.
Speaking of measure T's, Tony K?, it is another sell out to not of stood the ground for your own, over the wisdom of pushing an urban density plan upon your own treasured community that you claim to represent.
Why have we never accepted a recent housing plan? Duh.
It couldn't have been more obvious why your own electorate has had to rise up to defend us where many of your fellow council members have not.
Speaking of Tony Kranz, nobody in the Desert Rose community will ever for get his vote. What did he base his decision on? He said the developers were "nice guys" and that one of them coached his son in football.
Tony has shown up and said he wished that he could change his vote, but residents will never forget him or the other council members who voted the way that they did.
The former PB Bar and Grill on Garnet used to have this same sign at their entrance. Early release programs are putting more felons onto our streets, that's why the apt. complexes here are all overcrowded and the city wants sidewalks everywhere.
4:07pm Deemed Approved Ordinance, if I spelled it correctly.
The city would have had the power to insist upon proper behavior from all the bars that would relieve the pressure on the downtown residents who have had to deal with so many problems directly related to said bars and their patrons.
Moving some their patrons to outside patios and the like, will only exacerbate a condition that should already have been unacceptable.
The south end of town should be declared a sensitive area and not allow Union St to expand their operations outside. Declare that part of town a quiet, alcohol free zone and respect the gift that this town has been given by having the SRF Temple here for us all.
Other council members should refrain from using anything coming close to her "with gratitude" sign off, for their own good to show their own independence.
Think about it and take this as constructive, as it is meant to be.
I was walking on Second St, not far from the bar scene. There was an abandoned bra, empty cans and other trash that originated from the downtown crowd. Alcohol just doesn't make some people any classier...
9:36am. Wow, the EHA is still out there, who knew? and being as ineffective as ever. They were a lie to begin with and Tony K bought into it all with his vote to allow the bars and their patrons to ruin what was once precious and special about our downtown. Without the much needed DAO, we have little hope for change.
Surely there should be no more alcohol licenses granted, and no more alcohol serving bar permits granted by the planning dept. Yea right.
We can hope any further expansion to outside patio areas will be denied. If past history is any indication, that too will come to fruition. Shameful. Enough! No more bars!
Wow, I might walk into that dump and have a beer. A place wear proper dress is appreciated in Encinitas ?? I don't believe it. Oh they forgot the no cut off pants and white socks.
WCV,
ReplyDeleteNot sure you realize, but if you Google "Gangs of Encinitas," the top link is an EU thread that has become a venue for gang bangers to talk trash.

Well there goes my wardrobe.

No on T.
Employ a DAO.
Maybe they're afraid the vatos will rumble in the downtown jungle!
ReplyDeleteAnother Kaboo...

He is a major NO vote!
DeleteI give- What is a DAO?

I can dream.
I dream of having a cold beer on the patio on a hot day like today.
DeleteProsecute the crap out of bad apples, but don't outlaw fun for the rest of us responsible adults.
"Prosecute?" The City doesn't know the meaning of the word when it comes to revenue. It's all about looking the other way, whether booze or housing.
DeleteYes, but it comes with gratitude. barf, barf.

DeleteThey were all attending etiquette classes at the rehab center.
