After the two staff members of Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (sister of Marco Gonzalez) made their presentation on her AB-805 bill to "reform" SANDAG, the council voted 5-0 to NOT take a position on it. Mayor Blakespear argued that the city would have more clout to further modify the bill if the council didn't support or reject the bill at this time. Whew! Finally the council didn't do the knee-jerk reaction.
The bill has already been amended and will surely have more changes. We're already subservient to the city of San Diego. Not committing at this point seems like a good position. My wish is for Encinitas to withdraw from SANDAG, but that won't happen.
2:06 PM - What do you mean by not committing? Is that showing support for this power grab by Gonzalez? Other cities are saying NO to her bill. What is wrong with this council.
From Voice of San Diego on AB 805 -
"National City, Coronado, Poway and Escondido have all passed resolutions opposing AB 805."
There is no threat and never was from Obama or Hilary or anyone, you fear mongering imbecile. Pull your head your derriere and get off of Faux News for the facts. There are no alternative facts. Look it up yourself before coming on here showing how stupid your really are.
Maybe owning all these guns has affected you in ways not readily apparent or the concussion of shooting has caused some PTSD to your bulet riddled mind.
Your paranoia is just that, a figment of your fractured ability to see reality.
City Council needs to have an agenda item to discuss the imperialistic attitude of staff and changing to serve to the communities best interest.
ReplyDeleteCurrently Staff focused on developer and SANDAG interests and it needs to change to focus on quality of life interests for the EXISTING RESIDENTS.
Defund all Mainstreet associations. No city funds ever.
ReplyDeleteGood idea. Merchant associations should pay their own way.
DeleteAbsolutely defund the 'merchant or mainstreet associations.'

ReplyDeleteThe council is taking no position on a bill that will make our city subservient to San Diego and Chula Vista?
What a bunch of dumba##s.

The county opposes it.

Wake the ...up.
I think 2:41 was in jest.
DeleteYup, pretty obvious from use of "mah gunz"
DeleteYawn.....
ReplyDeleteCity Council needs to pull it head out and focus on priorities. Beach police station and toxic PV for 10 mil. are not.
ReplyDeleteGet your head in the game.
