7:44 In one short inquiry, Mosca said "in terms of" six times. That's actually a low count for him. Last week, he got up to 10 or 12 during one little speech.
My personal pet peeve is Muir saying he wants to avoid "analysis by paralysis."
He has the saying backwards. There is a risk of getting caught in a state of paralysis by over-analyzing things. It's the analysis causing the paralysis, not the other way round. So the correct expression is:
"I want to make sure we act decisively. Let's make sure we don't have paralysis by analysis."
Fencing of the beach from the Chart House to Cardiff state beach for the new manufactured sand dunes. The report is on the Planning Commission agenda for June 1.
Fun exercise: Count how many times Mosca says "in terms of" whenever he speaks.
ReplyDeleteCan't be any worse than Muir's famous saying...."as it relates to" while looking up and talking to whoever is up there in that ceiling.

In terms of Muir and as it relates to his using the expression "paralysis by analysis" backwards, you hit the screw squarely on the point, 8:06.
DeleteIt's a process.
DeleteHas anyone figured out Mosca's agenda yet?
DeleteIs anyone tracking how long BH speaks every time she has a thought?
ReplyDeleteThree minutes last night. Must be a record breaker. May that trend continue.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe you. She s simply incapable of such brevity.

ReplyDeleteRead that as permanent fencing off of the beach.
DeleteHigher riprap under the sand dunes. Birds will be able to nest, but humans must stay away.
Limiting access and egress from the beach will not be looked upon kindly from the CCC.
