John Paul (JP) Elliott & "Coco" (951) 781-6900
Sounds like TRUMP - fantasies about little things that could be done with no explanation of how; Talk of replacing staff with better people at less pay but no specifics. No talk of the entire city, just Leucadia. Show me the money!
ReplyDeleteActually, replacing some staff would save money. staff calpers turnover would reduce the city obligation quite significantly.
DeleteAnd you probably could find a slightly cheaper City Manager. Taxpayers are on the hook for her salary now, so any less is actual savings. Personally, I would be willing to pay more for a more competent one. But that wasn't JP's point, apparently.
Don't forget to include the assistant city manager who is paid as much as the city manager. What does he do? Taxpayers are paying close to $750,000 in salary and benefits for both of them.
DeleteSince Trump met with North Korea there have been no missile tests or threats to Japan.
DeleteSince Trump was elected unemployment in minority and female demographics at record lows.
GDP above 4%.
Since Trump went to NATO, NATO countries now paying billions in back money owed.
Since Trump elected Jerusalem embassy correctly moved....as promised by the 3 previous presidents who did nothing.
Since Trump elected individual mandate of obamacare eliminated, citizens can no longer be fined by the government for personal choice.
Since Trump elected horrible NAFTA agreement that included loopholes to destroy american jobs ripped up, new bill being signed, manufacturing jobs returning.
Since Trump elected human traffickers being arrested and jailed.
Since being elected China being held accountable for theft of patents.
Since being elected average american families receiving more money in take home pay.
Since Trump elected immigration laws being enforced to keep legal citizens safe.
Trump approval average of 10 polls: 41%
DeleteTrump favorability average of six polls: 42%
Chaos in the White House because most staffers know Trump is a dangerous, incompetent fool who is ruining America.
Republican Senator Corker said today: The question is who in the White House *wouldn't* have written the op-ed in the NY Times?
Sounds like COE City Manager. She is tremendously damaging to Encinitas future and residence quality of life. She’s not worth a dime but cost taxpayers millions in bad decisions.
DeleteYou mean she has done this as directed by the council.
DeleteYou keep thinking she's in charge. She's not. She's doing what she's being paid to do.
The council is calling the shots. Knowing this, how are you going to vote in November?
2:28 The city manager's pay, benefits and pension are about $300K, so the combination of her compensation and the assistant city manager's can't be close to $750K.
DeleteCity manager is supposed to make good recommendations to the city Council. Ours makes terrible recommendations to city Council which cost to the taxpayers millions and affects the city’s character and residence quality of life.
DeleteAlthough the city Council is supposed to lead the city manager, the city Council are pretty much lay persons. They get their education from reading agendas and getting spoonfed from their appointed city manager. A little conflict of interest Aye?
Gaspar and Blakespear picked one of the worst city managers in Southern California. She makes the last to city managers look like superstars. Just ask around other cities and your hear about this nightmare. Sad.
What recommendations would those be, pray tell? Brust NEVER opens her mouth at council meetings,
DeleteAnyone attending council meetings can see staff running the show under Wisneski's watchful eye. Brust never makes a peep.
What's not sad is Brust's canning of some of the worst of the worst at city hall. What is sad is she has not canned more.
Burst has her paws on everything.
DeleteProblems at city hall? The problem is Brust!
"Paws on everything?" Just outed yourself as a city employee. Putting in a full day's work is the pits if you're not used to it. Most of us have not enjoyed the country club work life as you have.
DeleteGood for Brust.
7:53, you are factually incorrect. White house leadership stable, kicking ass, winning! Mad Dog Matthis, General Kelly, Sarah Sanders, awesome, winning! Pompeo, Lightzinger- winning!
Delete7:53 are you intellectually dishonest? All of my statements are true. You offered opinion as fact with no data- fake news?
You claim ruining america? Wrong.

10:08 PM Drank the Trump Kool-Aid. Hope that cyanide goes down well.
Delete10:08 accomplished an amazing feat. He drank the Kool-Aid while having his head up his ass. Is that Charlie Sheen posting on EU?
DeleteTrump is a corrupt hack. He disgraces the presidency and the country. He will crash and burn bigtime, but since he's a sniveling bully and coward, he'll blame everybody but himself.
2:26. Trump Derangement Syndrome is the inability to form a cogent opinion based on fact and instead resort to name calling.
DeleteSince Trump Maganomics unemployment at all time low. American families winning!
Since Trump elected wages rising for blue collar workers, American families winning!
Since Trump elected GDP now more than 4%, American families winning!
Since Trump elected Veterans now have doctor choice, American families winning!
Since Trump elected we have not given Billions in cash to Iran the biggest sponsor of terrorism. American families winning!

Mattis, Pompeo, Kelly, Lightzinger, Kudlow, Conway, Sanders all kicking ass!
Pelosi, Schumer, Newsom want policies to raise taxes, do away with borders, reduce employee wages, empower our enemies and benefit globalists and themselves before American Families. If one has voted for Democrats. who now back socialism, just-
#walkaway
Let's keep American families winning!
5:22 How many lies, how many extramarital affairs, how many ego trips, how many scandals, how many indictments, how many convictions, how many corrupt practices, how many false promises, how many tasteless tweets, how many justice obstructions, how many bailed from his administration, how many staffer leaks, how many allies alienated, how many enemies embraced, how many orange tanning sessions, how many dyed hairs, how many rolls to his belly, how fat is his ass, how ridiculous is his hairstyle, how absent are dignity and respect in his makeup, how low is his character, how immoral is he, how much longer will he disgrace the presidency and the country? W hates him despite the fact that Trump displaced W as the worst president the country has ever had. He lost the popular vote by almost 3 million. The only reason he's in office is because we have the archaic, totally unrepresentative Electoral College. The midterms will be a referendum on Trump. Watch what happens.
DeleteThis is typical of a leftist. They have adult A.D.D When the first lies don't work, they make up more. Let me give you a little advice.
Delete"First, tell the truth....then give your opinion"
Love it! Let’s see how many people really oppose the streetscape.
ReplyDeleteThe city totally screwed up on its approach on the beacons Pete project. But the streetscape is widely supported by many residents.
This backwards thing guy is going to get crushed. Full on KLCC. That should be their logo.
Correction- should’ve been “ backwards thinking guy ....”
ReplyDeleteEU, proposed segway:
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of nuthouses. . .
The guy is too far out of the mainstream to be elected. The current mayor will overwhelm him.
ReplyDeleteTotally, don't even know the person. But the attack on these pet projects is a very good approach. Streetscape, Beacon, and HEU is where this campaign will be at. Either you agree with the way things are going or you don't. That simple.
DeleteI'm looking forward to seeing the magic wand he will use to accomplish his goals, especially the HEU.
DeleteOh, like the current administration is having success passing an HEU?
DeleteTwo of the three issues 1:07 mentioned are in Leucadia. Only the HEU is citywide. The mayor is elected citywide.
DeleteTo have a chance, Elliott has to get his ducks in line.
You won't install squat at the Leucadia RR crossing without NCTD's approval, and you can't just snap your fingers and get an underpass there. Learn what is planned and what has been discussed before making an ass of yourself.
ReplyDeleteAnd you can't claim parking places on the NCTD right of way without their approval, but that doesn't stop Tony.
DeleteActually, they did approve it. Tony is on the NCTD board.
DeleteNCTD didn't approve it. They're turning a blind eye toward it.
DeleteTony on the board means nothing. Taking his word as gospel on pretty much anything will land you in a world of wrong in a hurry.
DeleteStill can't believe the city is built a multi-million park next to the freeway instead of taking a clue from Solana Beach and grade-separating the tracks.
DeleteA mayor with a 951 area code? Preposterous!
ReplyDeleteHousing for "all the City employees?" Might want to rethink that one, Mr. Elliott. Most residents who've encountered "staff" want them out altogether.
ReplyDeleteBetter than an argumentative attorney any day.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but where does he stand on jazz hands?
ReplyDeleteWOW, you crazies that don't like our council and are afraid to run yourself find some real winners out there!!! He's "almost" as crazy as Cameron!
ReplyDelete12:47am. Slimy as ever slimy mikey.
ReplyDeleteYou are one sick excuse for a human being.
Bring on the debates!
ReplyDeleteThe mayors race is now a proxy for Streetscape.
ReplyDeleteIf Blakespear wins, it means most people want Streetscape.
I doubt that, it's more likely that most people don't want the inexperienced JP. CB is not an unpopular mayor and most of our voters prefer the status quo. Better the devil you know...
DeleteWho is she popular with? Developers? Bar owners?
DeleteMarco.
DeleteFocusing on Leucadia and Streetscape is a mistake. You Leucadians are beginning to sound like Cardiff residents, thinking the city centers around your neighborhood and it's issues. Most people in Encinitas don't give a care about Streetscape. A vote for or against Blakespear will only be a proxy for Streetscape in your tiny little neighborhood. (Most residents don't care about the Rail Trail, either).
ReplyDeleteResidents do care about spending 30 million dollars. Vote out Blakespear, Mosca, and Muir.
ReplyDeleteJody "over development" Hubbard is a nightmare! Hubbard equal more traffic, more pollution, more stack and pack. No to Hubbard.
Delete1:04Pm The city DOES center it's interest around Leucadia and it's issues. They've been diverting funds for Leucadia projects to others parts of town for decades. We're their little piggy bank! If no one cares please explain the full house at every Streetscape meeting. I've been to all of them and you haven't.
DeleteThe full house at streetscape meetings, L101 shills aside, is because Leucadians don't want the project and are there to speak against it.
DeleteIf you've been to "all" of the meetings, you must've been hanging upside down from the ceiling to flip the crowd sentiment and think the vast majority want this so-called improvement. Spend the money on fixing the epic flooding and for heavens sake don't give the job to Pasco (as in Pasco Fiasco).
As a Leucadian, I say divert away! Take your cement and OC-style plans and "improve" elsewhere.
10:45AM Get off your high horse, kiddo. Read my post again, and then again. Where do I say I'm for Streetscape? The poster said "most people in Encinitas don't give a care about Streetscape", and since I saw the attendance, it seems many people are concerned. And many do not like it and I'm one of them. I've donated money to get a sign. See? One can respond a reply without getting nasty. You should try it sometime.
DeleteHuh??
DeleteCal Worthington and his dog Spot have reincarnated!
ReplyDeleteHe's got my vote - it'll make going to Council meetings interesting!
ReplyDeleteMany people are ready for change. Definitely worth considering.
ReplyDelete9:48pm wtf? How is this still up? WC?
ReplyDeleteFunny hack. Tuned into a CNN channel on YouTube and it was an Asian strip tease demonstration - I guess it is easy to hack into legitimate channels and broadcast over them.
ReplyDeleteElliot thinks cops and firemen need city subsidized housing? Does he realize that their salaries are often 6 figures or close to it? And he wants to turn the Pacific View school site into section 18 housing? Maybe he should let Coco do the talking from now on.
ReplyDeleteHow does his idea of who we "need" to house differ from the rest of the council's? Those are exactly the workers Blakespear refers. They've been talking about firemen and cops for the past two years leading up to the Measure FU vote. Where have you been?
DeleteHe needs schooling on what Prop A requires. There ain't no increase in density or use without a vote of the people, so I wouldn't get too worried if he gets in he can make that happen without the voters.
It's Section 8 housing, but Elliott doesn't know what that is, and it's not what he's proposing.
DeleteHe is one millimeter above clueless.
Who cares? So is Blakespear, only I'd dispute the millimeter.
DeleteShe's had her chance - next!
6:05 PM Not Section 8 per se, but the general concept applies. Subsidized clap trap for a particular class or group of people - but for city employees only stretches the concept of "need". Their salaries and benefits are not below any norm.
ReplyDeleteIt's Section 8, not 18, and it's a HUD program for low-income people. The waiting list in San Diego County is about 10 years, so the subsidies effectively don't exist. You can find the program and income levels for 2016 here:

They're updated every year. Find 2018's yourself.
OK, 2018's:
