Fed-up renter heading to Texas

This is quite the blog post from a local renter, who's angry at developers, NIMBYs, Democrats, Republicans, bicyclists, Tesla drivers, people who park on the street, city council, dog owners, red-light cameras, the gas tax, Prop 13...

[UPDATE: the blog has been locked as private, but the primary complaint was that Encinitas doesn't welcome middle-class people and that more apartments should be built.]

I share many of these frustrations. But I don't think more density, crowds, gridlock, and parking headaches is the answer. More of that just brings more of the same outrage expressed in the blog post above. Living too close to too many people can make people short-tempered. Space to breathe makes good neighbors.

More of us should -- and will -- move to Texas. Many already have. Explore the data at howmoneywalks.com. People from California and San Diego County are moving out to Nevada, Arizona, and Texas. And the people moving into San Diego County are refugees from the even more overcrowded Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

  1. After reading this tale of woe and poor me, this is a person that cannot be happy under any circumstance. The first give away was the "condo was sold short from under us". A victim...and it goes down hill from there. O.K, move to Texas. You think things are different in Texas? You were buying property then what?...you weren't?
    People are nuts...........

  2. While agree with much of this rant the tone is a little sad. The victim card, running away, blaming everyone else for her problem, etc. stinks of “the world owes me a living’. Logic is lost on this one but that’s texas problem now, BTW, Texas sucks.

  3. FAKE NEWS. They claim they paid $28,000 in state income tax last year. I'm pretty sure that translates into an income of several hundred thousand dollars a year. I do agree with the view of both parties: systematic bribery has made both of them enemies to me.

  4. $300k in earning and your whining about not wanting to or able to buy a house unless some skewed Sacramento program forces the city into building "affordable" high rises. Lived here "forever" and didn't buy and hold early like the rest of us that have an ounce of common sense.

Hit the road you loser and don't let the surf board hit your a** on the way out the door.

  5. Victim, Victim, Victim.... I feel sorry for your kids. Try you are responsible for your actions and no one including the gov. owes you shit.

Quite spending time writing reams of garbage and figure out how to earn some $$$. Become a fricken realtor for gods sakes. Thats like free money.

  6. Kathy,
How long are YOU going to allow CalTrans to fuck up our streets?? 2 weeks now and nothing done onnthe underpasses at Santa Fe and Encinitas Blvd. Disgraceful. Demand action. Or clear those underpasses yourself. At this point they are blocking traffic and causing backups. Do something or resign.
    Pathetic failure.

    1. If you were a bicycle freak you'd move to the head of the line 11:36. Throw on some spandex and see if that helps.

    2. Ok 12:36, you fix the underpasses and after that, fix the roads.
      Your as pathetic as Kathy.
