Mother and small children attacked by homeless man at Captain Keno's

10 News:

From threats to punches, an Encinitas mother says she fought off a homeless attacker using her umbrella and it all happened in front of her small children.

Sarah Stone says her attacker, a homeless man, confronted her family outside the Captain Kenos Restaurant in Encinitas.

Stone says the incident started inside the restaurant when the man tried to get into the women’s restroom stall with one of her young girls inside.

Outside, Stone says it continued by her car. “He’s ranting about how he’s going to kill everybody, how he’s going to set the restaurant on fire. He put his hand up to my head and said, ‘a bullet to your head.’” Stone says when the man started beating on the car window where one of her kids was sitting, that’s when her mother bear instincts kicked in.

  1. Lock him back up and start the 3 strikes program again.

Don't listen to Catherine and Tony, encouraging homeless to take on Encinitas as their home does not bring positive diversity to the town only ciminal problems.

Tired of the homeless problems, vote out Catherine and Tony and lets clean up Encinitas. First order would be to remove those gross outhouses that supposedly were put up during a hep C crisis in another City. The second is fight any homeless camp being established in town.

  2. Captain Keno’s is a dark, dirty, run down dump that is a magnet for drug addicts, losers, and the criminally insane.

A couple years back, they served an old dude booze until he did a header in front of traffic on the 101.

It needs to be torn down and replaced by a hipster coffee and brew pub that serves avocado toast and has charging stations for electric bicycles.

  4. 7:30 a.m..............spot on.
If that place had rooms it would be roach motel. And, why didn't a real man beat the hell out of this homeless jerk? You do something like that in front of kids......you take a chance of not leaving in an upright position in my world.

  5. After attacking this woman, the man got into my garage and tried to hide from the police. (2 blocks away) I talked him out of my garage and he spit in my face. Called 911 and he was arrested 30 mins later.

  6. Can we just put down sub humans like this? It'd literally improve everyone's life, even his.

  7. 7:30am Captain Kenos is a treasure in its own way, and they pay it forward in spades by giving away holiday meals at no cost every freaking year.

In that respect, they are a much better citizen that any other around here.

If you had any sense of local history, you too, would appreciate the part they have played in our community for close to fifty years.

Although I rarely go there, I always want them to be there. They are an integral part of this community.

    You know nothing.

  8. A couple of years ago, a neighbor's kid was dropped off downtown by the 7-11. A homeless guy came up and clobbered him in the head with a brick, causing injuries that required medical intervention. It was a totally unprovoked assault. The guy was caught, but only spent about 30 days in jail, before being cut loose. Even the authorities don't want them.
