A controversial construction project that’s completely overhauling busy Santa Fe Drive will be halted for at least six months while city officials try to figure out if it’s actually improving roadway conditions, the Encinitas City Council decided Wednesday.

It is an attractive design. I am not sure that an emergency vehicle or anyone else can move to the right because of the backend Parking. I am that this will be delayed for reevaluation.

For what it's worth was in Leucadia on the 101 yesterday trying to back into one of the wretched backward parking spots and several vehicles were laying on their horns and screaming b/c it stopped traffic lol

I rather park in reverse. It is better for bicyclist or bicycle lane is in front of the parking.
ReplyDeleteIn this case, the class 4 narrow 5 foot bike lane with the gutter is behind the parking and considering the concrete curb on both sides. It’s a crappy design. The design does not leave a transition area for people to pull over and back into the spot. As the public has explained, when someone stops to back into a parking spot, it’s going to halt traffic and cause severe distress for all involved plus will block emergency vehicles. Collisions and severe injury will ensue.
Guess who pays for the damages?
That’s right you.
Because you’re the taxpayer and you’re a who pays BIA‘s wages and the lawsuit settlements.
And that’s why I thought the booing was so appropriate for BIAspear.
Bottom line- It’s a fucked up design and it’s going to need to be redone.
Otherwise, the community will suffer just like the other fucked up designs that BIA, the gimp, and Marco bestowed on Encinitas.
