VOSD:
In North County, four cities – Encinitas, Escondido, Oceanside and San Marcos – asked residents to vote on sales tax measures that could provide relief to their budgets, bolster public safety, improve infrastructure and maintain quality of life. This was Kranz's second attempt to push a sales tax increase on Encinitas.
Of the four measures, only one of them failed. Encinitas’ proposed one-percent sales tax increase, Measure K, was rejected by voters, with nearly 52 percent voting “no.”
But the other North County sales tax measures passed by wide margins, each earning 60 percent or more of the vote. So, why did Encinitas – a city whose demographics and political leanings suggest residents would support a sales tax increase – reject one, while other cities overwhelmingly supported them?
Coupled with overall frustration with the rising cost of living, it likely came down to a deeper dissatisfaction among Encinitas residents with how their city is being run and financially managed. This became clear when voters decided to oust the city’s mayor and an incumbent city councilmember.
Given the new majority and their campaigning against it, supporters of the tax measure are so relieved that it failed.
ReplyDeleteWord was out that the fre
ReplyDeleteGood. Ehlers may prove to be fiscally responsible but ten years is a long time and other councils may not be.
ReplyDeleteLet’s see how the new council does over the next year plus. Kranz and Antil left less than $2M in reserves.
Kranz was a loser to the end.
👆👌💯
DeleteThat’s one thing everyone agreed upon., Kranz. the town dunce, was a loser the entire 12 years he was on city council.
Marlin's record on Facebook is no different than Jim's was before he shut up and let his minions do his dirty work. Only Jim wasn't under constant personal attack like Marlin's been for years. Jim was a dick because he's a dick.
ReplyDeleteJim is a nice guy, you’re a complete dick, and Marlene is irrelevant.
DeleteThat’s hilarious! Thankfully, Jim has been involved with local politics and issues in Encinitas for many years. His opponent the 2nd generation SoCal native or whatever the hell she tried campaigning on, only started participating when she announced her candidacy. Fortunately, she showcased her asshole attitude right out the gate! Thank God, the good guy won that race.
DeleteNot just one it was not even a contest the Airbnb participant barely showed up.
DeleteI wonder where she’s at now?
Not that anybody really cares.
No, not true. Marlon is about self pitty. Had his POS comments of gone viral...he would be out. We had bigger fish to fry and not enough bandwidth to focus on outing MT
DeleteI absolutely love this comment from coast news:

““I hope that the new council members realize they did not win their races with 100% vote for them,” Blackwell said. “There were thousands of people who voted for Mayor Kranz and for me and for Destiny Preston, and those thousands of people still expect that you’re going to represent them well here.””
Hilarious, Name one time, just one, where the Blakespear hang represented anyone but developers and the Limousine Liberals that continually poured money into their campaigns to overwhelm any opponents?
Good riddance.
* Blakespear gang.
DeleteBlakespear is still the undefeated future governor goat.
DeleteNot if she keeps on doubling down on identity politics.
DeleteCalifornia will be very ready for a huge change next election.
Newsom and Co. refuse to read the tea leaves at their peril.
Loving anything from the Golden pedo makes you a degenerate.
DeleteGovernor goat- That’s classic, more like Gimp keeper.
DeleteShe won’t make it through the next election.
She’s a has been and can spend more time with her friends Fathan Letcher, Margo and his amazing sister. They can bring out the gimp and make it screech with pleasure.
Marlon came on the scene tied at the hip with the toxic Mali Woods Drake What did he expect? He somehow held onto to his school board position.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of tied at the hip, ever notice where Mali and Marco are situated when they’re in the same room together?
ReplyDeleteShe’s pretty freaking white so I wouldn’t put it past him.
DeleteMali will never again be in a public position in Encinitas. She can't win if she runs and NO one will be appointing this person. Her online communications are enough to ensure she will be entering through the front door for some time. She is irrelevant.
Delete👆💯
Delete2:10 Mali was a bitch in oral communications when Kranz and Co were still on the dias and her ego is ridiculous. Saying she was glad Allison got appointed or she would have had to do it. How did she even get that information about her possibly being appointed?
DeleteMali let that out of the bag a while ago before she realized whoops she should not have done that.
DeleteAlison’s comment about does everyone realize that Luke did not get all of the votes is just weird. Name one election ever where 100% of the votes went to one person. So what exactly is her point? She lost. Sounds like she’s having a hard time understanding that fact. And facts matter, right Marlon? Isn’t that what you always say even when lying?
Mali got passed over because of her race. Her anger is misplaced
DeleteWhat race?
DeleteThe Rat Race.
DeleteSomebody please tell me that Marco Gonzalez did not get up in front of the meeting and claim that people are hypocrites? Seriously he got up and said that? The GOAT lying hypocrite sack of rotten oatmeal is accusing people of being hypocrites?

Delete11:22 - Do not feel so bad this Sunday. Its OK. Most informed Encinitas Voters and all the City Council follow this blog daily. KK was lying when she said she didn't..... They all do and Anthill knew she was fired, the day the voters fired Kranz and the Freakshow and punted them out of City Hall. This blog members have people inside City Hall and in the know.

Kranz was a stooge for the BIA and never had a clue what he was doing. He immediately folded on the affordable housing fiasco and said nothing could be done - he never tried. Speedy gave him talking points, as did Blakespear. Buycott Coastal Legal Group and vote Blakespear out of office next election cycle. These sell outs have ruined Encinitas.
ReplyDeleteBuycott? Good one.
