Rubenstein neighbors get traffic calming circles as consolation for stadium lights going in their back yard

That's going to look a lot nicer than those hideous and annoying-at-any-speed plastic bumps on Devonshire.

Summit has also been torn up for several weeks now, likely for similar calming circles.

  1. From the photos you can see the UGLY utility poles. When will the city demand that SDG&E remove the poles ?? We have been paying for their removal for years, with nothing to show for our money.

  2. Last week I saw the FD truck take an extra amount of time just to maneuver around the too narrow circle. There are three of them on the way to my house. Guess would be an increased 3 min response time now. Also wondering if they are putting in sidewalks? Now you have to either wait for a pedestrian to walk alongside the circle or drive dangerously close to them to pass. IMO, these are a waste of money and poorly engineered

  3. Like the roundabout on Santa Fe, this "traffic calming" is designed to mitigate traffic impacts when the Hall property park is opened. Since the entrances to the park from Santa Fe and Mackinnon will quickly get jammed, the city is encouraging people to park on the streets to the west and walk in through Cardiff Glen. There is no parking on the private streets in Cardiff Glen, so the HOA will have to hire an enforcer on busy days, especially when tournaments are run.

  4. 13 of the 14 candidates for council either are now or have been government employees. What are the odds that the current council will pick the only self employed person for the vacant seat?? Not good I'm afraid, more sucking at the government teet. How pathetic.

  5. Who is the non-ex-governmental employee - Krantz? Yea, Bin Laden has a better chance of being nominated than he does... This deal is a closed shop affair!

  6. I walk and run on these streets daily and people drive way to fast. The speed limit is 25! It makes me angry that people just can't slow dow.

  7. anon5:48- Want to slow traffic on rubenstein?? Toss put some sharpened nails into the street around 3 am, that will slow the traffic to a crawl. and in the future, people will never know when you are going to toss out some nails so they will slow down naturally. It worked for me.

  8. As a Devonshire Drive resident, I would personally like to apologize to everyone who is inconvenienced by the "hideous and annoying-at-any-speed plastic bumps" that have completely solved the problem of the low-fisted mouth breathers who found it fun to take the straightaway at 60 miles per hour.

  10. Yes, well thank you for showing that even the most idiotic ideas bear repeating, if only to reveal the full extent of their knuckleheadedness.

(Presumably you used magic nails that distinguished between speeders and law-abiding citizens.)
