Things that make you go hmmm...
What kind of corporate shit-for-brains does a major remodel on a Vons grocery store in one of the most health- and environment-conscious communities in the U.S. and doesn't even install a single bike rack?
I've had success in asking the local Albertson's to install a bike rack down here in San Diego. Maybe you could try asking to see if they would then install a bike rack.
IN Denmark all bicycles are black, so you leave it against the wall and grab the nearest black bike as you come out. No big deal. So no bike rack needed. I guess shit for brains is a bit more advanced than the average Encintian.
Interesting Post. You would also find it amusing if you were to visit the SANDAG Office in down town San Diego. You are probably aware that SANDAG is responsible for the bike path infrastructure countywide.
I road my bike to the Encinitas Coaster Station, then my bike and I took the train to San Diego. Five minute bike ride to the SANDAG Office. NO BIKE RACK TO BE FOUND. I had to chain my bike to a tree.
I assume you are talking about the Vons on Santa Fe Dr., west of I-5. On Saturday Oct 8th, I rode my bike to that Vons, and I was surprised I didn't see a rack in front of the store. But, I did find a bike rack in front of the 24-Hour Fitness, just to the east.
