High-density housing, Encinitas style

$3500/month for one bedroom in Pacific Station.  With a view of the back wall of Nixon.

Fortunately, the loading dock immediately below has been a lot quieter since Whole Foods left.

  1. Just saw today the notice sign on the 4th street blue cottages, demolition to build a single family home.

  2. 540 a month HOA. Cost a lot to clean up all that brake dust in the ventilation and to water the concrete. It is a nice spot if you live within walking distance or are lucky enough to find a parking spot.

  3. IF YOU LIKE THEM SO MUCH BUY THEM - YOU CAN'T DICTATE WHAT OTHERS DO WITH THEIR LAND! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE SOMEONE TELL YOU WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR PROPERLY ZONED LAND?

    1. Ohhhhhh - the screaming rant of "progress". In some communities, remodels/rebuilds have to conform to the prevalent style of the area. In this case, rebuild it to the architectural design that now exists. It would not diminish valve in the long run, and would maintain the charm that makes the community unique.

“Our community needs to once and for all get beyond this issue. We need to turn the page,” Councilman Joe Mosca said. “By getting the housing element completed and certified by the state, we’ll be able to shift our focus to the important task of doing everything we can do to bring about more affordable housing in our city. Also, we need to end the lawsuits and the hundreds of thousands of dollars being spent in connection with these lawsuits.”

    1. Hey Joe, I don't want to subsidize someone else's life style. I bust my ass to afford to live here. No one has ever picked up a mortgage payment for me. And yes I live next door to affordable housing. Neighbors that have a junk yard for a yard with 5 storage sheds and God knows what else under their piles of rubble, but neither you nor I pay for that mess. The home was purchased for their daughter to get her and the bf out of mom and dads place. Meanwhile the bf drinks beer and smokes pot all day. And why not?? His housing is AFFORDABLE!! If I could move them next door to you I would.
      PS- I'll be voting NO.
