Olivenhain Towers are back!

Only a month ago the developer of the huge proposed project at Encinitas Boulevard and Rancho Santa Fe Road withdrew the proposal.

It's back --  and bigger!

Encinitas Votes:
The developer has RESUBMITTED a larger project for 283 units to the City of Encinitas for Olivenhain (near the intersection of Rancho Santa Fe Road and Encinitas Blvd).

The project will not only destroy the environment and rural Olivenhain. It also exposes the hypocrisy of the speculator-driven agenda of the City Council:

This 283-unit project with seven residential floors including a luxury roof top and pool, and 483-car garage contributes to the gentrification of Encinitas by providing an upscale hotel-like property, turning the city into a paradise for out-of-town investors.

  2. This monstrosity came courtesy of Blakespear and her council yes men. Want to talk concrete> Look no further than the 5 developer tools sitting up there all proud of their work.

  3. Apparently this has been permanently re-zoned?
From RR2 to Our Hell. If this a allowed, file suit on the City of Encinitas, Randy "the RAT" goodson and all of his girlfriends.

    1. This was rezoned as part of Measure U that our wonderful mayor went to court to enforce. Anyone on council acting surprised is doing just that: acting.

  4. If in fact it is rezoned, that's it. I'll do everything I can to get blakespear voted out. Along with every person on the council. Drain the swamp of the leftists. I've had it with these RATS as everything they do gets infected with failure

  5. Mayors in other cities went to court to fight the numbers assigned to our city, our mayor fought against the residents in court to help upzone the parcels in Encinitas.

    1. Go to court and say what? Would we argue that we are actually in compliance already without a new housing element? Or would we argue that the state law is unconstitutional? If so, on what grounds? Exactly what part of the constitution conflicts with the law?

Fighting in court is a waste of time and money unless there’s a specific way to win your case.

    2. 6:51 Apparently you know little about the problem. The ingress/egress road is the width of a driveway at best. Next to pre schools and most of all the re-zone. That is just the beginning. How about seven story buildings? Hmm? Where the max height was considerably less before the re-zoning. Also trying to get around studies of: air quality, traffic and safety.
Go to court and say what? How about the facts.
Make the developer do every study on developments known to man. If the planning department allows access from Santa Fr Rd then back to court. It's already a traffic nightmare.

    3. ha, go to court is what blakespear did already, but not the way you'd think. she went to court all right and sided with the groups that were suing us, telling the judge "yeah, what they said."

a truer snake in the grass you'll never meet, she needs to go.

    4. 6:51 AM The city is in compliance with the BIA wants. HCD and Blakespear screwed the residents.

  6. Its because our Mayor sucks Newsome juices and is selling out Encinitas to developers and homeless camp builders.

If you want a nice beach town without sketchy tweekers lurking all over the place, Vote for someone besides Blakespear.

If she wants to gain confidence back from votes, have her suggest opening a homeless shelter next to Seaside market or her neighborhood. Lets see how that fairs with the fake supporters of the "homeless".

this crap about affordable housing is indeed just crap. Its called supply and demand. People need to learn about the free market! Obvoiusly people can afford the rent here because too many people live here.

If you want to build new shelter for the masses due the sustainable thing and build them near water supply - Northern CA. NOT in a desert with less than 11 inch of rain a year!!!

  8. Remember when the brain dead buffoon at the city thought NO NEW NATURAL GAS SERIVICES SHOULD BE STARTED? O.K moron, then start with this ghetto apartment building.
These are all leftists at the city council and managment. Unable to think clearly and constantly making bad decisions.
Let's start a recall, why wait to vote them out?

  9. I thought they would come back, albeit with a slightly smaller project. But this is the era of Trump, so if you are caught with your hand in the cookie jar, take two cookies and blame your Mom for not making enough of them.

Like a used car salesman, they can never be embarrassed about anything they say or do. They simply go on to the next bad decision or comment.

  11. 11:22 - this is the council caught with their hands in the cookie jar. They all signed off on this project + the remaining 15 or so coming to a neighborhood near you.

Look at the map on the city's site and write the city to ask whether any nearby proposals are being processed by "staff." You can bet your bippy they're hard at work carrying out the mayor's directive to bend over backward for the BIA.

I know, why not name the apartments (if built) "blakespear ghetto manor". This way no one ever forgets what the left is doing to California.
