  1. It sure looks like Ms. Woodsdrake has the goods on our compromised council.

All in, says our council. She stays.

Thank you to our to community speakers for at least trying to make council see what a toxic presence this unqualified beyond belief imposter has brought to our community.

I suppose this could turn out to be a good thing come election time.

Anyone who cares about this community will not soon forget how this council dismissed the truth about MS. WD.

To even think these pols have our support takes a great deal of imagination.

  2. I didn't understand Kellie's point that E4E provides people a shower or how that makes Mali Woods Drake qualified to help pass a qualified housing plan. The CRC has been doing the same thing for over 30 years. Besides, E4E is supposed to be separate from the Equity Committee. I thought that Joy made a good point by suggesting bringing in other partners. There are some church organizations that have actual experience in this area who are aware that it isn't a good idea to insult residents and instead try to build partnerships.

  3. Did anyone else notice that the acting City Attorney mentioned more than 10 major issues that were covered in closed session including several lawsuits, yet she said there was nothing to report out on anything?

    1. The veil of secrecy continues. Unqualified cronies placed in positions of authority where they have no expertise/experience. more lawsuits hidden under the carpet, donations from developers determine urban configurations in spite of infrastructure overload, lies about her anti-citizen input to the political process, etc. Blakespear is the worst Mayor is Encinitas's history!

  4. Delay, delay. Play for time.

    Obstruct, obstruct. More time waisted.

It takes something special to even watch this clown show.

To my friends who showed up, you have my enduring respect.

The need for change is great and you give me hope.

  7. I love Mali. She represents me. Afterall, I deserve it.

I was born with an genetic defect that makes my skin white and makes me allergic to work. People just do not understand how hard it is to be me and if they did they would love me sooooo much.

Is there a protest today? I sure miss protests. That way I can stand somewhere and make up cute little saying like hell no, let her go. Hell no, let her go..... Go good.

and I hate the right. What right you might say? Its anywahere right of me where anyone that does not feel sorry for me is not right and must go.

I got a ribbon in school once and I support no more competition. Competition is evil. It pushes people to compete and perform. Horrid. Why should you push the limits? Evil and racist!

Communism works and we must come together for group love. Let those that are compelled to work, work I say. For the rest of us people with allergies, we should be able to live in the same house on Neptune and visit and drink whine at PCD and Dukes just like the doctor, busineess owner, or entrepreneur. I say tax the snot out of society and let the government provide uniform monthly pay vouchers for all. Who wants liberty, when the Government can provide. We are all equal. and I am EQUITY. Look on my arm, my new tat says so! :)

    1. Last night's testimony was as embarrassing as this really poor attempt at sarcasm. Julie, Cindy, and the rest of them come off so petty and misinformed. It's a good thing no one cares what they have to say.

    2. It was embarrassing for Blakespear. Anyone in the room could see the mayor leaning back in her chair and glaring at the speakers. When she replied after the last speaker, it was clear she was angry and had realized it was another blunder in her campaign for state senate. She made it clear to the other council members that she expected their support. She got it, even from Kranz, who mumbled a response. Mosca didn't speak. It looked like a setup to boost Mosca and diminish Kranz in their run for mayor.

    3. 8:33am What is embarrassing is having 5 council members who are so worthless that they make politics their career path. The embarrassment is having a Mayor who admittedly doesn't "understand the depths of her decisions as a policy maker". The embarrassment is having a Mayor who thinks that she is so much smarter than everyone in this community and that her opinion matters more than what that community wants. The embarrassment is having Mosca talk for 10 minutes and say absolutely nothing. The embarrassment is having 3 city council member appointed without a vote of the people. The embarrassment is having Joy talk and then forget which way Blakespear told her to vote. The embarrassment is having our Mayor run for state senate on a platform of "providing real solutions to lingering issues like homelessness.", but if you ask her to outline just one real solution, she deletes the question and blocks you. The embarrassment is having a Mayor who constantly talks about leadership, but clearly doesn't understand what that means. The embarrassment is having that Mayor work to divide this community in the way that she does. I could keep going, but I think you get the point. I was born and raised here, I love this town in a way that many would not understand. And for the first time in my like, I am embarrassed to say that I am from Encinitas.

  8. 8:33am. The embarrassment was not on our long dedicated residents.

Trying imagine where you are coming from and getting that so wrong.

Margo? MWD? Any number of other city policy sycophants?

  10. I've seen that glare when we were handing out flyers at the Church of Spiritual Awareness when those Housing Element "workshops" were being pimped by Gus Vina. All our flyer did was tell the truth. Her face exposed her ITTT syndrome (Inner Toddler Tantrum Tendencies.) The sheep that voted for her are worse.

  11. Can someone please explain how Mali thinks she can call her own words shown last night "lies" and people will believe her instead of their own eyes? Watching from home the images were clear. Does she claim that someone photoshopped the images? Weird.

  12. Mali barfed up a recitation of her mental situation on another blog. Shows her recovery isn't there if she plays the victim and takes no responsibility for what she's brought on herself. Mayor has the same problem. No wonder they gravitated toward one another.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mali has removed a very large numbers of comments on various social media. However, many people have taken screen shots, as were shown at the council meeting and at Equity Committee meetings. She lies that she has done it. Mali is truly not of sound mind.

  14. Blakespear put a loose cannon in positions for which she is both unsuited and unqualified. Her sorted past comes out and she tells everyone not to believe the facts. Her allegations about issues of equality and police abuse are unfounded and indicitive of Blakespear's poor leadership. No wonder why she wants to jump to the State level- her career is about finished locally due to gross incompetence!

  15. Anyone know why Mali couldn't be bothered to attend the meeting to hear her own item? I do: she can't face the consequences of her vitriol. She knew the mayor had it in the bag for her with the 5-0 vote to pretend she's not a menace.

  16. Do Marco, Mali and Mayor have a rotation of duty as to who will call Encinitas residents the same tired names? It's gone quiet for a while.

    1. Over on Encinitas Politics, Marco is blasting Julie Thunder as "the queen of concrete" because her husband is a partner in a concrete company. Of course, based on the fact that Marco has no problem taking money from developers and seems to be a developer himself in the Beach Street project, what is his point? What would that make Marco's wife the queen of? As much as Gonzalez is detested, I have yet to see anyone lower themselves to attacking his wife. He is not witty but is immature and and a repeat liar.

      Delete
    2. When Julie decided to put herself out as a candidate, she opened up herself and her family to significant scrutiny. If her family makes its money off of pouring concrete in Encinitas, voters should know this. We know Thunder Jones Concrete poured parking garages at Pacific Station and the Alila Marea, but she hasn't disclosed what other large projects her family has profited from. We do, however, know that building large concrete structures has allowed Julie to live in a multi-million dollar ocean view home in the upscale Composer District of Cardiff, so it is entirely relevant for voters to assess whether her family's love of concrete may influence her future decision making if elected. And if she says it won't, then voters should get to determine if she's believable.

And regarding my wife, she's an environmental consultant currently working with students in EUSD and SDUHSD schools. But the difference is, I'm not running for office, so the false comparison noted above doesn't hold water.

    3. Marco, another candidate named Catherine Blakespear also lives in the upscale Composer District in Cardiff, and she seems to have benefited from moving in with her mom and becoming a business partner with her mother to enjoy her own multi-million dollar view lifestyle. Blakespear has gotten many donations from developers, including those that you brought in under the PAC you created for her during the 2020 election. Another person in the same Compose District neighborhood is a Procopio attorney who has made hundreds of thousands of dollars suing the Cardiff school district. While she may have won in court, she is shocked now that many of her neighbors hate her. I don't agree with people damaging her property and personally respect the law, but I am also not surprised that people with children in the district particularly resent her. I am not even going to go into how you make your money but only point out that you helped Candidate Blakespear by garnering developer money in the hopes that she would continue to sell out Encinitas residents for their benefit. Selling out our city and suing Encinitas residents on Prop A is the dirtiest way to win an election of all.

    4. An environmental consultant might know about the sustainability of concrete.

      Delete
    5. Gonzalez right up there in bags of concrete poured through his "entitlement" services.

And if the wife is as much an "environmental consultant" as Marco, then she's as big a fraud. Family racket.

    6. Now that you've brought the wife into the convo is she fair game too, Gonzo? You just can't control yourself can you. At least let her know.

      Delete
    7. I remember that Blakespear donated a large chunk of City money to the non-profit that Gonzo's wife works for. Why should city funds go to support a program for the school districts instead of the districts paying for an educational program to benefit their own students? There seems to be a network of conflicts of interest and odd involvements between these two families. A lot of people are scratching their heads.

    8. lotsa funny business going on with council members and cronyism inside and outside city hall, individuals and family members....

    9. This is what happens when there is no over sight. Small town politics is by agenda driven individuals, who usually feather their own nests in the process. Blakespear trying to get a more lucrative State political position, Gonzales getting kick-backs, Mali obviously selling whatever influence she wields, and other city types all with their fingers in the pie. This city needs to get rid of most of the council and city administrators and find some unblemished civically minded people that will work for the citizens. Blakespear is the worst!

    10. 4:57 - I guess you can continue to compare Julie to Catherine, but I don't know that voters are going to care about that in a councilmember district election. It's notable that so many on here respond with attacks on the mayor and me, but not a single person will address the substance of Julie's concrete connections and inconsistency with her "beach town big town" messaging...

      Delete
    11. Nobody has done more than you and this current council to convert beach town to big town. You attack people who stand in the way of your ill-gotten, developer paid money, then you play the victim card.

  18. Marco has safe harbor on any Verdu site. He can get away with saying anything with zero consequences despite Verdu's passive-aggressive "reasonable" tone to all get along. There's no doubt that Verdu and wife Paula will be back with the same shenanigans they pulled last time.

Gonzalez's "Beach St. Development" destroys the back country: https://beachstreetdev.com/. He's involved in the density bonus project that's now the subject of a Federal Fair Housing Law lawsuit. His all-developer PAC is set to resurrect bigger and greedier than before. The dude lives in a very thin-paned glass house.

"Just the facts" - right, Gonzalez? Isn't that what you called your Facebook page and how you post on Coast News?

  21. Mali and the Equity Committee perform tomorrow 4 pm, Poinsettia Room. Come on down and see the circus for yourself.

    From the agenda:

    4. WRAP-UP/FOLLOW-UP FROM SHERIFF’S CONTRACT MEETING (summary of how to tell the cops to do their job)
    5. DISCUSS RECOMMENDATION TO CREATE A PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION (another mE4mE infiltration into city hall)
    6. DISCUSSION ON HOUSING (committee members spew BIA propaganda)
    7. CONTINUE TO REFINE DRAFT RECOMMENDATIONS (been doing this since May 2021, nothing to see here)

Meeting handouts tout SB9 and how to split your lot for fun and profit, but they'll pretend it's about affordable housing.

Thanks Mali and BIA, we could not have survived without you. Well actually, the towns did not survive. Thanks anyway. RIP Cardiff, Encinitas, and Leucadia.

  25. Marco, how about "guessing" we can compare positions on issues and vote accordingly?

If you want to state publicly that Julie will personally benefit from a seat on the council by approving projects and somehow skirting the bid process to funnel money directly to her husband's business, I'd say she had a libel case but I'm not an attorney. I'm sure the mayor's heir apparent Mosca and alternate Kranz will enjoy your remarks while at the same time signing the campaign purity pledge with clear consciences. You know, like Blakespear did in 2020.

You take exception when people question your "environmentalist" boast when you make your money representing the most environmentally-damaging projects. The only difference in your world between you and Julie is that you're not running for office. The comparison is valid.

The "concrete" loop you're still on from 2020 didn't get traction then aside from maybe with Don Barth. But do keep it up and do continue to make yourself ridiculous.

    2. Well, if I ever decide to run for office, you're all more than entitled to bring up the fact that I support infill development while claiming to be an environmentalist. I'm happy to debate the issue with anyone.

But I'm not running, Julie is. And even if she claims she is not biased in favor of more concrete, there is very much a credibility issue she must address. How does someone make so much money pouring concrete and owning a business tied to the BIA, yet expect voters to believe her claims of "small town character" commitment? I saw a lot of people express concerns about the Alila Marea hotel (including my involvement in the environmental conditions/permitting), and I'm wondering if those same people are going to be pissed at Julie and her company for helping to build so much of it?

    3. Marco, you have stated elsewhere that you are a Mexican citizen when you pointed out that those who served in Vietnam were suckers. Does your status as a Mexican citizen prevent you from running for office, or do you have dual citizenship? If you are not a US citizen, you can't decide to run for office anyway.

    4. Marco, take your broken record to the Barths. They'll wet themselves thanking you. You really think you've hit on a formula here. Someone wake me up when he changes his tune.

    5. Marco, this is not high school debate club. You have no standing to debate anyone except yourself in the mirror. We are not interested in what you have to say about infill or your perception of yourself as an environmentalist.

  26. mE4mE Mali got called out big time last night for her vile online antics. One speaker asked Mali to be removed from her position. mE4mE's response? A smirk, all-be-it veiled behind the city's now archaic indoor mask mandate. Well done Cathy, you really picked one hell of a gem this time. I say you keep putting her out there. After all, the more the voting community sees of mE4mE, the less promising your senate run becomes.....
