Giant sinkhole opens up beneath D Street

Be not afraid; the city is hiring a new communications specialist to reassure you that the infrastructure is just fine.

  1. Back in the 60's rotund classmate of mine at Pacific View School was walking across the playground one morning and one of those swallowed him. Fortunately is was the 5' variety and not the bottomless pit ones that appear unexpectedly and swallow villages.

    1. More examples of the work quality out of Engineering and Public Works. I hope that they can find a new award to present to them by next meeting!

  3. Not only is the infrastructure great, but the City finances are in spectacular shape. That is why there are big signs encouraging people to buy $200 pavers for the new park!

    1. And big No on A signs...infrastructure and pension money has to come from somewhere, so why not sell the town to the highest bidder?

    2. Yes, those Chicago, Arizona, and LA donors can come up with money for No on A signs, but there is no money to keep up repairs on our roads.

Yes on A--the Encinitas citizens's position.

No on A--Encinitas staff, real estate/development industry position!

  4. This sinkhole is rather symbolic of Council's popularity, our financial state as a City, and the credibility coming from our various city departments. Yes on A. They have been making the decisions and sending us the bills for long enough!

  5. No Money for roads or projects- The sink hole will simply need to wait while Sacramento Gus holds some strategic planning meetings and hires a communication expert to learn how to listen and communicate with the council and community.

But Tons of money for employee pensions and salaries.

Fire Sacramento Gus and fix the sinkhole.
