Supervisor race now too close to call?

While it looked like Kristin Gaspar lost the Supervisor race last week, the absentee ballots are turning out to tilt conservative. Gaspar trailed by 2% in early results, but now trails by just 1%, with 396,000 ballots (county-wide) yet to be counted.

The conservative tilt in the absentees is consistent with the Congressional race, with Rep. Darrell Issa narrowing the gap in San Diego County and expanding his comfortable lead in Orange County.

  2. Did they commission sloths to count the ballots? Why the delay?

  3. Hey did you see the story on 10 news about the guy stabbed at the taco Stand Friday night? Probably by one of Encinitas crazy homeless guys that the city has invited in!

  5. Whether you like Kristin Gaspar or not. Early analysis show that Encinitas residents like her. Can't say the same for her husband.

    1. No, Gaspar lost Encinitas 47%-53% in the early results.

Like Al Gore losing Tennessee, if she had won her own city, she'd have won the race.

    2. Her husband running for mayor probably hurt her locally - it showed how arrogant and pretentious that couple is.

  6. 10:19 I beg to differ. More residents dislike her than like her. That was evident in the polls.

    1. Are these the same polls that had Hillary winning?

    2. Uh, Hillary won the popular vote by more than a million and still counting.

    3. She is politically naïve and put up as a candidate strictly to serve the special interests of the developers and real estate interests. The UT endorsed her because they represent the same interests. She will be a disaster if she wins this office.

  7. Let's hope not, we don't need that brainless chucklehead representing us at the Supervisory level...

    1. She'd be a disaster - she was run to open all the back country up for development. She is a brainless shill for the developers and real estate interests.

  8. It is unfortunate that statistics on the ballots are being held back. We don't know how many ballots are out standing based on precinct and party registration.

    1. 6:49 I don't think it is sneaky at all. Any one who is interested can attend the meetings. Wide open to the public.

      Get a grip.

  13. More like Cruella De Ville. This witch's brew has finally manifestered sic, itself into the physical realm.

Here is hoping she will go quietly into the night and won't follow Barth's continuing unwanted interference in our community's affairs.

Engage Encinitas? Much more like Enrage Encinitas.
