I have no dog in this fight but those types of trees come down quite a bit. Balboa Park, Southern California, Australia, to name a few. Sometimes killing people. So, take the risk of someone being killed and the City being sued for millions or remove them. If someone takes notes and takes pictures and something happens take guess what the jury would come back with.
People get killed on Hwy101 all the time and the City doesn't do shit.
Even though there has been a plan for ten years, no bikelanes and people are maimed yearly. Why take care of killing the nice trees before trying to save the nice bicyclists?
The Root System/Basal Area Defects column in the Tree Specific Observations table identifies "conk" on several trees which is a type of fungus - Fungal Conk. It is simply not true that fungus is not cited in the report.
Eucalyptus were a huge mistake. They are non-native, a fire hazard, they drop heavy limbs on people and property, and these specific trees were weakened by disease.

Name as many instances as you can where and when people were killed on Hwy 101.
DeleteYou do it... Its too much time to list all the perished people. Wait for the Roberta law suite to air. That will list all the faults.
DeleteMore bullshit, 6:18. You made a claim. Now back it up with evidence. A "law suite"? Is that a bunch of offices where lawyers work?

ReplyDeleteAre these assessments and removals under way elsewhere in the city or only along 101 in Leucadia?

ReplyDeleteFix the road, and replace with coast live oak.
There are three mentions of "fungal" and one of "fungi."
